Nikolai and Yuri arrived at the house where Caesar had taken care of Diana. They walked in, proceeding straight to the living room, where her dead body lay in its own pool of blood.
Yuri's eyes flickered, and he drew a deep breath, his gaze softening.
"I warned her. I did tell her, Niko," he mumbled, his head lowering to the floor. "I warned her to stay off, to let Caesar be. But she just wouldn't listen to-"
"It is not your fault," Nikolai interrupted coldly, no tinge of sympathy evident in his tone. "We all warned her. Caesar even gave her a chance, but she still chose to do what she did. She brought it upon herself, and I won't feel sympathy for someone like that. She should have known what was coming for her when she chose to harm Adeline."
