I can't help but feel sad about my older brother's apparent behavior. I thought it would be a warm hug for me to receive but it was the opposite. I don't think he would accept me as his sister.<br/><br/>"Sweetie, come with me. I'll show you your new room." as she wipe my tears and led me upstairs.<br/><br/>"Wag mo na lang pansinin ang mga sinabi sayo ng Kuya Gideon mo. He might be too surprised at the fact that all of sudden he will have a a younger sister. Since he was a child, we always pampered him kaya pagpasensyahan mo na siya a. Baka akalain niya siguro aagawin mo mga bagay na ibinigay namin sa kanya." she smiled at me humbly.<br/><br/>I still couldn't sleep because until now I heard the harsh words that were being thrown at me by Kuya Gideon. He asked my mom and dad where they had me. <br/><br/>If I can be trusted and why do they take me with them. I know that he only wants to know if I'm not a bad person. But why does he still need to call me names? <br/><br/>Mom and Dad told him what really happened and why they adopted me. As they tell my story, I read his entire expression all over his face. After they told him he stood up and pointed at me.<br/><br/>"Oh fucking look at that Mom! You just brought home an unknown kid here and worst of all she's a fucking burglar! You said she used to live in an orphanage. Why don't you just take her back to where she belong! Dad, why did you let mom bring that child here." bumaling siya kay Daddy para magtanong. Diko mapigilan mapaiyak sa mga narinig ko sa kanya.<br/><br/>"Young man, watch your words. There's nothing you can do because we have settled her papers and she is completely Barraza. And please be kind to her because you are older than her." Dad authoritatively told him.<br/><br/>Because he knew he could do nothing. He looked at me annoyed and walked out of us.<br/><br/>Lumabas ako para sana kumuha saglit ng tubig pero nagulat ako nang madatnan kong nakaupo bar stool si Kuya Gideon.<br/><br/>"Hey you bitch! Come here." he prompted me to come to him. He even waved his hands on me. Dahan-dahan akong naglakad papunta sa kanya. He seems to be drunk in his condition.<br/><br/>"So you're my sister now, huh. I feel like you'll take everything from me with me. You dare to show up your face infront of me. You're so shameless. I know those who are like you, you only want my parents' money right? You want me to give it to you now? So that for you to leave here." imbis na pakinggan siya. <br/><br/>Napagpasyahan ko na bumalik na lang sa kwarto ko. Tatalikod na sana ako nang bigla nyang hawakan ang palapulsuhan ko. Nagpumiglas ako sa kanya.<br/><br/>"Ano ba! Bitiwan nyo po ako. Lasing lang po kayo. Pasensya na po kung iyon ang naramdaman niyo. Pero kailan ko lang po nalaman na mayaman kayo. Kung gusto niyo ay aalis po ako rito." sambit ko sa kaniya. Tumingala ako sa kanya. His face delighted with hatred and enviousness.<br/><br/>He violently shook my hand and stood up. He started walking away without looking back at me. I don't know if I actually heard him speak or I just imagined it. But what I heard from him hurt my feelings.<br/><br/>I hate you.<br/><br/>After our accidental conversation. That was the last and it never been followed. For the past eight years, we've been trying to be casual in front of our parents. But without them, we would have surpassed strangers.<br/><br/>I am so grateful to my parents that even though they were not I'm not their real child, they gave me a place to call home, fed and educated in a prestigious shool. I am now a freshman in my Business Management course. My parents suggest that I can help my Kuya Gideon run my parent's business. Because of that my older brother became more angry with me.<br/><br/>"Sina girl, ang swerte mo siguro no?! Tignan mo yung kuya mo! Nakakalaglag ng panty ang kagwapuhan." Ana exaggeratedly said. She's my friend. <br/><br/>Hinampas niya pa ako. Her eyes twinkled with admiration. Nandito kami sa sala ng bahay. Linggo ngayon at walang pasok kaya nandito siya ngayon para manggulo. Sinundan ko ng tingin ang itinuro niya. Bumaba ang kuya ko sa hagdan.<br/><br/>Kuya Gideon is his early 20's. At his age you would not think he was 6'5 tall while I was only in his chest. His shoulder was wide as if I could squeeze when he hugged me. The muscles in his arms were almost completely worn over his fitted plain shirt. His wavy hair was messy. If you look at his face. You can say he is perfect. He has a deep set of eyes that seems to deepen the depths of your whole being. His nose was pointed. His jaw was grimly defined. And his lip was a bit pouty that I had never seen smile before. Maybe when I wasn't here he would still smiling.<br/><br/>Nang maramdaman niyang may nakatingin sa kanya. Tumingin siya sa banda gawi ko. Mabilis naman akong nag-iwas ng tingin sa kanya. Naramdaman ko ang mabilis na tibok ng puso ko. Maybe I felt scared and anxious at the same time. <br/><br/>Tumingin ulit ako sa kanya. Saglit pa kaming nagkatitigan pero siya na ang umiwas.<br/><br/>"Hoy! Anong mga tinginan yon? Kayo ha!" she looked at me maliciously.<br/><br/>He kept walking until he passed us. I could almost smell his natural smell and it stuck to my nose.<br/><br/>" What the hell! Hindi ka man lang binati ng good morning. Kailan ba kayo magpapansinan niyang kuya mo? Tagal na nyang away nyo, diba?" Ana continued. <br/><br/>I told her what had happened before why is my brother so angry with me. I've been with her since I was in highschool. She is a scholar at our school. She was often bullied by students for being poor but she didn't even notice those. It wasn't a bad case of me because that's where I came from. So many things we could agree on.<br/><br/>" Sinabi ko naman sayo ang nangyari. At saka may mas maganda yung gantong hindi kami nagpapansinan kasya sigawan niya ako parati." I replied at her.<br/><br/>"Pero ang bango niya no? Grabe! nung dumaan siya pigil talaga ang hininga ko nun pero ng maamoy ko siya, ohmyghad! I'm speechless!" <br/><br/>Kung ano-ano pa ang mga sinabi niya. Hinayaan ko na lang siyang pagpantasyahan si Kuya. Ayos lang naman sa akin iyon.<br/><br/>As the days passed, things got better but my relationship with Kuya is still the same.<br/><br/>I called Ana to come with me to our company. I just have to send the paperwork to Kuya's office because Daddy said, he needed to signed the contract today. But she says she's doing something and she can't be with me right now. She said she'll just treat me when she come. <br/><br/>"Chika mo na lang sa akin sa Monday." I said yes and ended the call.<br/><br/>So, I went to the company by myself because it was necessary. Unang beses ko palang nakapunta dito. Masyado palang malaki ito kasya sa iba.<br/><br/>"Miss, andyan po ba si Kuya Gideon? Pwede pong pakisabi sa kanya na dala ko na ipinadala ni Daddy." I said to his secretary.<br/><br/>"I'm sorry Ma'am but Sir Gideon is not in his office. He's on meeting right now. It will take him a while before he can return. If you want, I'll just give it to Sir." She replied politely to me.<br/><br/>"Alexina na lang po. Hihintayin ko lang siya dito." She nodded at me. She even glanced at me once but then left. <br/><br/>I sit on the chair next to it. I sat for too long. I want to go home but I want to give personally to my brother he needs.<br/><br/>Di nagtagal ay dumating na siya. Suot ang office attire niya ay talaga namang lumalabas ang kagwapuhan niya. Huminto siya sa harap ng lamesa ng secretary niya. Pinakinggan ko silang mag-usap.<br/><br/>"Where in the hell is the contract agreement Dad wants me to sign?" he started.<br/><br/>"Wala pa po pero may pumuntang babae dito. Dala niya daw ang kailangan nyo. Naghihintay po siya sa lounge kanina pa." she said out of panic.<br/><br/>"What, why isn't it here yet? Whose sibling? You know that I don't have. Why are you just bringing in someone here? He asked his secretary irritatedly.<br/><br/>"Alexina daw po ang pangalan niya." She nervously replied then she pointed out my direction. He just dismissed her saying that she's useless.<br/><br/>He turned to me, causing my heart to pound hard. There was a glint in his eyes that seemed to me out of anger. He walked quickly towards me and aggressively pulled me into his office. Pagkapasok binitawan niya at bigla niya akong sinampal. Paniguradong mamumula ang pisngi sa lakas nun.<br/><br/>"What the fuck are you doing here? You still have a guts to go here huh. I told you not to show up in front of me! Right? You have the courage to say to my secretary that I am your fucking brother when in fact it's not." nanggigil niyang sinabi.<br/><br/>"Gusto ko lang naman ibigay sayo ng personal ang ipinadadala ni Dad." I said near to cry.<br/><br/>"Do you think I fucking believe you ?! What do you think? Is the company good? Would you ask this company to my parents too?" He shouted. He grabbed my arm and pulled me out.<br/><br/>"Bakit ka ganyan sa akin kuya? Kailan mo ba matatanggap na kapatid mo na ako?" napuno ng mga luha ang mga mata ko.<br/><br/>"I have no sister! And I will never accept you! Don't you ever come back here! Do you fucking understand ?!" Then he pulled me outside and pushed me away. I fell on the floor because of the force of impact.<br/><br/>"Get out! Guards! Take this woman out." Then he walked out. The guard helped me get up.<br/><br/>I don't know how I got home.<br/><br/>The next day, our driver drove me to school early. So I decided to go at the library to read. I text Ana when she's coming.<br/><br/>Tumingin ako ng mga babasahing libro. Nang makahanap ay umupo ako sa pinakadulo at nagsimula ng magbasa. Tinignan ko muna kung nag reply na ba si Ana pero wala pa. Isip-isip ko na baka hindi siya papasok.<br/><br/>I woke up from a tap. I looked at the man in front of me. His face was very innocent. He smiled at me.<br/><br/>"Hi, pwedeng makiupo? Wala na kasing bakanteng upuan doon sa harapan." Sabi niya sa akin. Did he wake me up just to ask? He could sit in front of me. I thought.<br/><br/>Parang nabasa naman niya ang nasa isip ko.<br/><br/>"No, baka bigla kang magulat kapag gising mo tas nasa harap mo ako." He was still smiling as he talked to me.<br/><br/>Napagpasyahan ko na paupuin siya sa harap ko dahil aalis naman na ako. Akmang tatayo na ako nang hinawakan niya ang kamay ko. Napatingin ako sa kamay niyang nakahawak sa akin. Dali-dali niyang inalis iyon at nahihiyang kinamot ang kilay niya. Nagtatakang tinignan ko siya.<br/><br/>"Aalis kana?" I nodded at him and rushed to leave.<br/><br/>As I walked I remembered something. I forgot the book I borrowed because of the rush. I got into the next class because I was late for the first one. As soon as I entered I sat down.<br/><br/>"Hoy babae ka! Saan ka nanggaling? Bakit ngayon ka lang? Kanina pa yung text mo ah!" bungad ni Ana. Kahit kailan talaga ang ingay ng babaeng to.<br/><br/>"Akala ko hindi ka papasok. Hindi ka naman nagreply sa text ko at saka nakatulog ako may library habang nagbabasa." I replied.<br/><br/>"Ano! Anong hindi papasok? Excuse me! Kaya hindi ako nakapagreply kasi wala akong load! Punyemas ka buti nagising ka pa" she exclaimed.<br/><br/>"Buti nga may gumising sa akin kaso nakalimutan ko yung librong hiniram ko sa pagmamadali." <br/><br/>"Ay ang shungaks mo te! Magbabayad ka pa pag hindi mo nahanap yun! Kunsabagay, mayaman ka naman. Bayaran mo na lang!" I just nod at her.<br/><br/>Nasa canteen kami ngayon dahil vacant namin. Niyaya ako ni Ana na kumain. Libre niya daw ako ngayon tulad ng pangako niya. <br/>We first got a seat and started eating.<br/><br/>"Ano nang balita? Sabi mo ikekwento mo sa akin yung pagpunta mo dun sa kuya mo" sabi niya habang kumakain. Uminom muna ako ng tubig bago sumagot.<br/><br/>"Wala namang masyadong nangyari." maikling sagot ko.<br/><br/>"Sus, wala daw! Imposible noh! Makita ka pa nga lang nun parang magwawala na pano pa kaya kung sinadyang pinuntahan mo." <br/><br/>Dahil hindi siya magpapipigil para lang malaman yun sinabi ko rin sa kanya. Ikinikwento ko sa kanya ang pagtanggi sa akin ni Kuya sa secretary niya. Ang pagsampal niya sa akin sa loob ng office niya. At pagpapahiya sa akin sa harap ng mga empleyado niya. Habang sinasabi ko yun ay napaiyak ako. Agad niyang hinagod ang likod ko para pakalmahin.<br/><br/>"Punyeta pala yang kapatid mo eh! Dapat sinabi mo agad sa akin para masugod ko. Sasampalin ko talaga yun!" I can see that she's fuming mad as she said those words.<br/><br/>"Hayaan mo na. Nangyari na." pagpapakalma ko.<br/><br/>"Dapat pala sumama na lang ako sayo para naipagtanggol kita sa gago mong kuya." naiinis pa rin na sagot niya.<br/><br/>As I settled down, I wiped away my tears. We enter the next class. I only listened until class was over. I'm so grateful that Ana didn't talk to me today. Perhaps he is still annoyed at what he has to say.<br/><br/>"Sure kang ayaw mo magpasama?" she asked me ninth times. I'm going to the library to find the book I borrowed. Ana wanted to accompany me but I refused. I don't want to disturb her anymore.<br/><br/>"Basta itext mo ko pag nakauwi kana! Baka kung anong mangyari sayo!" I just nodded at her. <br/><br/>Hindi din naman ako magtatagal dahil mag-gagabi na baka pagalitan pa ako nila Mom and Dad.<br/><br/>Pumasok na ako sa loob. Bilisan ko lang dahil sabi ng librarian ay magsasara na siya. Pumunta ako sa inupuan ko sa dulo pero wala doon ang hinahanap ko. Tumingin din ako sa mga bookshelves baka sakaling may magandang loob ang nagbalik roon pero wala. Lumabas na lang ako sa library. <br/><br/>It looks like I'll pay for the book. I thought.<br/><br/>I just walked out. No more people could be seen passing by. I saw our driver waiting alone in the parking lot. I told our driver we were going home.<br/><br/>"Sweetie, anong oras na bakit ngayon ka lang?" Mom worriedly asked me.<br/><br/>"May hinanap lang po akong libro sa library." pagod na sabi ko.<br/><br/>"Kumain ka na ba?" Umiling ako.<br/><br/>"Mukhang pagod na pagod ka. Halika sa mesa at kumain para magpahinga ka na." at iginaya niya ako sa hapag-kainan.<br/><br/>After we had dinner I went up and lay down. I soon fell asleep without remembering what had happened earlier.</p>
