After thought, Fan Xi placed a butterfly hairpin under the sun. The hairpin glowed slightly in the sunlight like the butterfly had gone alive.
"Your crafts are great. Selling them to the store owner would result in a loss of money. Why don't you set up a stall in a busy place? We wager that all our goods sell out before dark and make a profit. You think?"
Fan Xi was confident she could sell everything in the bag, as there were few items. Since it was near the school, young students would like it.
"Impossible." Ye Wan was shocked and thought Fan Xi was delusional because she had just asked the store owner, who said no one would want these things.
"What do you charge at first?" Fan Xi knew Ye Wan still had not believed her, so she did not want to speak anymore. She wasn't afraid to tell the truth.
"One cent for headbands and hairpins. Two cents for bows." Ye Wan answered Fan Xi's question honestly despite her doubts.
"Alright." Fan Xi didn't say anything else. She got up and pulled Ye Wan to look for a suitable place to set up a stall.
"Are you kidding about setting up a stall? It does not sell. I am doing it. Two days ago, I sat here all afternoon without selling a single one." Ye Wan didn't trust Fan Xi or her ideas, but she wanted to.
Ye Wan suddenly thought that Fan Xi was different in some way, but she couldn't place the change.
"Now, watch me and do what I say."
Fan Xi took Ye Wan under a big tree. It was shady and had many stores. Students should enjoy walking around when not in class.
Fan Xi pulled out two yuan and gave it to Ye Wan. "You go to the grocery store, buy a piece of cloth for the stall, and return. I wait for you here."
She was curious to know if two yuan was enough, so it was better to take more.
"Where do you get all this money? Did you take it all from my brother?" Ye Wan didn't take it immediately and impolitely looked at Fan Xi.
Fan Xi realized Ye Fan gave her fifty yuan before she left. She hadn't touched it yet. "I earn it. You can keep the extra money after buying the clothes. Avoid your brother's school worry."
Fan Xi didn't want to explain, and Ye Wan still had issues with the stigma. She would divorce Ye Fan soon, so explaining wasn't necessary.
Ye Wan reluctantly accepted it and ran to the grocery store next door.
Fan Xi sat on a step. She noticed that all the hairpins and other items were well-made. No remodeling was needed, and she was grateful to Ye Wan.
Fan Xi couldn't believe a good thing couldn't sell. She regretted it. She would lose more money if she sold it cheaply to the store owner to get rid of it. Luckily, she stopped it in time.
Fan Xi sorted and found 45 hairpins, 35 headbands, and 20 bowed. They all had different styles and significant bows of various sizes.
Fan Xi had even thought of a sales strategy when Ye Wan came back.
"This piece of cloth is not that expensive," said Ye Wan as she handed the cloth to Fan Xi. "Six cents will do."
Fan Xi wasn't interested. It only mattered to her if there was a lot left over. It wasn't going to anyone else, after all.
Fan Xi spread the cloth on the ground and arranged everything in categories, "Did we not talk about the bet earlier? Could you please talk about it?
Ye Wan's willingness to buy clothes showed her interest in the proposed sales method.
"If we are really selling everything, we will split it 50/50. How does that sound to you? If there is anything left over..."
"30-70. I'll take 30, and you take 70."
Ye Wan's products were good, but they were sold incorrectly. If not for that, she would have made much money by then.
"Deal!" Ye Wan was pleased at this time.
Fan Xi glanced at her and shouted, "Don't miss it if you walk by! These hair accessories are beautiful and delicate! Big bows are only 5 cents. Hairpins are currently priced at only 2 cents! We offer a free try-on experience!
Ye Wan was so embarrassed by Fan Xi's shout that she wanted to run away.
"Your price is too high," Ye Wan frowned. "Five cents? Who would buy it?" She would have distrusted Fan Xi earlier if she had known.
