"I can't," Zaden said.
Grace was speechless. He was not her boss anymore, right? Who gave him the right to act bossy around her? It truly made her grit her teeth in anger.
"I don't have the time," Grace said coldly.
"Then when will you have time?" Zaden asked, his tone a patient one.
"Forget it," Grace thought to herself. After all, she did indeed earn a lot of money while working for Zaden. No matter what reason he wanted to meet up with her for, he probably would not go as far as to eat her alive.
"Well... let's meet tomorrow," Grace said.
"Alright."
The next day, Grace asked him what the matter was as soon as they met up. Zaden was much more straightforward this time.
"I'd like to invite you to cook dinner at my house this weekend," Zaden said bluntly.
Grace was puzzled. She thought that she had already made it very clear before she left. Zaden's current request felt a little unreasonable. How could an almighty CEO not have an ego at all?
