Never Grow Up

Ethan was busy serving the customer's order when he saw Leo wiping the glass door. His eyes narrowed when he noticed him gradually peeking outside.

He went to the kitchen to get the last coffee order. He placed it on the silver tray and carefully strode towards the customer.

Ethan never had an experience in waitressing, therefore, he tried moving cautiously.

After making sure that everyone got their orders, he strolled towards Leo with irritation in his face.

Ethan tugs Leo's ear and the boy groaned in pain.

"What's your problem?" Leo asked, one hand massaging his ear.

"You've been wiping the door for fifteen minutes now. If you're so fond of wiping, why don't you wipe the windows?" he replied calmly.

Leo snubs him and went back to wiping the door, his eyes were looking at the road.

"Are you waiting for someone?" Ethan suspiciously asked, his face moved closer at his brother's face and looked at the same direction he was looking.

"No," Leo denied. He took a step back and groaned.

"Don't let your cheeks touch mine. I have spent hours moisturizing it," he complained while his fingers were enjoying the smoothness of his skin.

He did, in fact, spent the whole morning making sure that his face doesn't show any sign of tiredness. He even asked for Alexa's help to hide the scars he has on his right forehead. Until now, he can still hear her sister's mocking words, her voice is still taunting his mind saying, 'Ei! My brother is crushing on someone, but does she likes you?'

Those harsh words of her have been making him paranoid. He thought he could get any girls to like him just like in his previous school. Every girl sent him love letters and even gave him chocolates on Valentine's day, so he thought that Cassie will be like that but he thought wrong. And now, he's more eager to get her attention.

Ethan looked at his brother with a poker face, he had never seen him so blooming before. He even noticed that he hid his scar which he had never done. And Leo's excuse was because girls are attracted to a bad boy type of man and not a nerdy boy like him.

"Is that girl whatever her name is coming?" he asked.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Leo innocently replied.

Ethan sighed and decided to help his brother. Last night he received another message from the same woman whom Leo has been crushing, asking if he will also be in the cafe. He didn't reply to her as he was not obliged too, he only opened her message and ignored it.

Ethan took his phone out of his jeans and opened his messenger. He sent her a message 'yes' as a reply and jammed his phone back in his pocket. Getting a girlfriend is not his priority but, he wants to help his brother in getting one.

"I will handle all the orders, just keep wiping," he blankly said and left him alone.

In the other side, Leo was celebrating after his brother said that he doesn't need to take orders. He doesn't mind doing it but, he has been waiting for someone's arrival that he had spent all night thinking what are the topics he can discuss with Cassie.

In the kitchen, Selena was busy baking the second batch of cupcakes for tomorrow when she noticed that the first batch was missing some cupcakes. She aligned it in five-row and each row has five cupcakes, but right now, there are only fifteen.

She realized that someone must have been stealing her cupcakes and the perpetrator didn't even hide the evidence, the cupcake wraps were neatly folded in half and thrown at the garbage.

Selena sighed and look at the other side of the kitchen. Seeing how Evan and Daniella are enjoying their conversation like they are in a honeymoon, Selena then realized that one of Daniella's kids stole and ate the cupcakes.

(Alexa has been in the counter. Leo is wiping the door) she said to herself, looking at the triplets outside.

(Wait! What the hell! Leo has been wiping that door for an hour now!) her eyes went wide in shock.

(Who the hell wipes the door anyway?) she shook her head, disbelief on how abnormal the triplets are.

Her eyes then narrowed as she stared at Ethan, (It can't be Ethan, that boy is a saint among Daniella's kids)

With the last person in her mind, Selena's eyes diverted to the corner, and she was right, Louisa was no longer in there.

She emitted a sighed to hold her patience. She had spent so many hours on baking the cupcakes for tomorrow so she wouldn't need to rush like yesterday but now, with the missing cupcakes, she realized that she will suffer again.

She stretched a hand under the table which was covered with brown cloth. She can't be mistaken, Louisa loves to hide under the table. But, to her surprise, there was no one under the table, she bent her body to look and didn't find any sign of Louisa's creepiness.

Confusion filled her head, she suddenly thought that Daniella might have eaten up the cupcakes.

"Daniella, did you take the 10 cupcakes here?" she asked casually.

Her auntie looked at her. The bright smile she has was slowly fading. And at that moment, Selena could hear a peal of thunder roaring in her mind.

"Did someone eat it?" her auntie asked, voice so low yet so cold.

Selena nonchalantly shrugged a shoulder and showed her the empty cupcakes wraps she found in the garbage.

"I don't know but, the thief didn't hide the evidence very well,"

Her auntie sighed and walked closer. She could feel the storm coming as her feet made its way towards her.

Then, her auntie leaned closer to her ear and spoke in a loud voice that could almost destroy her eardrum, "Can you tell my kids that if that thief doesn't admit the crime, I will pull his or her teeth one by one,"

"Whoa! isn't it harsh?" she bluntly said in a loud voice.

Daniella sneered, she was about to reply when Louisa came out from the closet under the sink. Selena suddenly wondered how did the girl manage to fit her body when the space was too small.

"I took it!" Louisa spoke.

Evan, Daniella, and Selena were dumbfounded to hear her speaking, it was too low and so melodic.

Selena watches as Daniella bent to level her head to Louisa. The girl's black eyes shining in guilt were staring at her mother.

"It's fine. You can eat more if you want. Don't forget to brush your teeth ok?" suddenly, the coldness of Daniella's voice has disappeared.

Daniella patted her daughter's head and took the tray full of cupcakes and handed it to Louisa, "Here, eat everything. I need to call your uncle Danny and tell him this," she said with excitement.

Selena shook her head as she watches Daniella running out of the kitchen. When she turned to Alexa, she found the girl smiling ear to ear, as if she just win a lotto.

Diverting her eyes to her uncle Evan, Selena looked at him with amusement, "Seriously, your kids are so manipulative," she blurted.

"And that surprises you?" her uncle replied.

Selena brushed a hand over her face, now that Daniella had given the rest of the cupcakes to Louisa, she will need to starts from scratch.

With her shoulder slumped in distress, Selena took the flour out of the cabinet. She poured it in a bowl and was about to beat an egg when Barney came into the kitchen.

"Barney!" she called his name in surprise, a smile plastered on her lips as soon as she saw his bright face.

"I was having my coffee when Mrs. Su asked me to help you with baking. She said she'll give me free coffee for a month if I help you so I thought, why not," Barney said scratching his head like a shy little boy.

Selena giggled and handed him a bowl, "then starts baking dino, we have lots of cupcakes to do."
