Better than Revenge

"Selena, I can't fit in," Barney's voice spoke from the kitchen.

"Well, it's not my fault you're this big. Try to put it slowly," Selena responded.

"I haven't done this before what about you?" Barney's voice once again.

"No, just slide in it slowly, ok" Selena replied.

"It will be painful," Barney spoke in a concerned tone.

"It's fine. Just push it."

Hearing the conversation from the kitchen, Daniella who has been sitting, eating her sandwich suddenly turned to her husband.

Her ears wanted to explode from Selena and Barney's conversation. She was not sure what was happening inside but, she's certain that the two were alone since her kids went upstairs to play and watch.

She put her sandwich down and made a steeple of her fingers, her eyes full of suspicion are staring at her husband.

"What do you think they are doing?" she playfully said.

Evan sighed and shoved the sandwich in her mouth.

"I don't know but, I am sure its different than what you have in your mind," he said and went back to his lunch.

"They really sound like they're doing it," Daniella plastered a dirty smile on her face as she tried to stop herself from getting into the kitchen.

"Stop it now," Evan warned her but, Daniella didn't listen to him, instead she got up and ran to the kitchen.

She leaned her ears on the kitchen door to eavesdrop, she could hear a man's voice faintly groaning which made her eyes to widen in surprise.

She waved a hand in the air to get her husband's attention.

"Babe, come here, I think they are doing it?" she silently said.

Her husband got up and walked closer to her, he was about to open the door when she stopped him.

"What are you doing?" she barked at him.

"I need to check,"

"Stop and go back to your chair," she ordered him, pointing at their table.

Evan looked at his wife with disbelief. She just asked him to come closer and now she's ordering him to leave.

He sighed and walked back to the chair without a word, while Daniela continued listening to the conversation in the kitchen.

"Selena. I can't pull it out" Barney said chuckling but even so, the pain was still in his voice

"You can stay inside, I don't have problem with that," Selena's voice replied, giggling.

"Is that blood" Barney asked.

Daniella covered her lips with a hand to prevent her smile. She knows that two were not doing anything miraculous though they might have not noticed that their conversation sounds lustful.

When she noticed the time, she decided to check on them.

She found them standing by the sink, with their backs facing her, she couldn't see what was happening.

She strode tiptoed to not get their attention, reaching the sink, she found Barney's hand stuck in the hole of the sink while Selena was helping him to pull it.

"So this is what you meant by tight." she murmured in enlightened, looking at the hole in the sink.

She could see how red Barney's hand was, there were bruises on it.

"Your hand is too big for this hole, what are you trying to do?" she wondered.

Barney and Selena looked at her.

"I lost my earring," Selena said in guilt. She gentle massaged Barney's hand while her eyes were glooming in guilt.

"Sorry Barney," she apologetically said.

Barney used his other free hand to pat her head and smiled, "It's fine. It was a gift from your mom which means it is important. Anyway," he turned to Daniella.

"I have the earring but, I can't pull my hand out. Any suggestion" he asked, hoping that she has an idea on how to remove his stuck hand in the sink.

He could feel the metal scraping on his skin but even so, he didn't let the earring go. He knows that if he did, it will be gone forever.

"Why didn't you asked for Louisa's help? That girl is so petite that her body can go inside this hole," Daniella blurted and left. When she came back, she has a bottle of olive oil in her hand and was about to pour it when she suddenly changes her mind.

"Wait, Olive oil is expensive. I will use the old oil in the french fries machine," Barney and Selena looked at each other in awe. They wanted to laugh at how stingy Daniella was.

"Please, excuse my Auntie. She used to be fun but, you have seen her kids. They can literally drive anyone to craziness,"

Barney snickered, using his free hand, he wiped the water on Selena's face.

"Well, maybe not all. You're still normal,"

"Oh please! You don't know me yet. If I show you my real color, you will never step foot in this cafe," her head nodded as she said those words. She appreciates Barney's effort on saving the earring she got from her mother.

Even though they had just met, Barney has helped her so many time. With his hand on her cheek, gently wiping it, Selena lifted a hand to pinch his cheek.

"I am looking forward to it," he softly said. He tucked a lock of hair behind her ear and plastered a smile on his face.

Selena patted his cheek, she was not sure but somehow she felt as if Barney was looking at her with affection,

(It can't be, he has someone he likes) she thought and withdrew her smile.

The last thing she wanted was to ruin her friendship with Barney and make his feeling confused. She knows how hard it is to have a confused heart and she doesn't want anyone to experience it.

Until now, they have been good to each other and he always makes her laugh and she doesn't want to lose it.

She sighed and took a step back, by that time, Daniella has comeback carrying a french fries machine. The woman deliberately tossed the oil on Barney's hand and asked Selena to pull it.

"Why me?" Selena asked, pointing a finger to herself.

"Because this is your earring?" Barney replied in a robotic tone.

Selena rolled her eyes and held his hand. She slowly pulled it and to her surprise, it was not as hard to pull as before

"We should have used the oil from the beginning," she murmured.

Her hand which was rubbing Barney's shoulder transported and held his hand. She saw how red it was, that the blood cloth has almost turned into purple.

"Is it painful?"

"It's fine. It's nothing!" Barney stated and pulled his hand from her. Seeing her eyes full of pain is something he doesn't want to see.

"Cheer up! At least we didn't need to cut my hand," he jokingly said.

Daniella on the other side looked at the two with her head shaking, "So, next time. Use something to protect yourself. A condom will be perfect" she started walking away after hearing the heavy feet jumping upstairs.

"If you don't use protection. You will end up with four kids destroying your house," after saying those words with frustration, Daniella left the kitchen.

Selena wanted to pull her hair in exasperation. Clearly, her family doesn't care whether she's with a man or not. They will always do or say something that will embarrass her.

Silence came in between them, unsure of what to say after hearing those words from Daniella.

Selena stood next to Barney, her arms remained at her side.

"We need more eggs," Selena said breaking the silence.

Barney lifted a shoulder in a half shrug, one hand rubbing his injured wrist.

"Ok, but how can I go with my oily hand?"

"Is that my problem?" she said in a taunting voice. Eyes flickered in a tease.

Without responding, Barney brushed his hand on her face, making it oily. When he saw her lips pouting and eyes bulging in anger, he let out a loud laugh and spread the oil on her arms.

Selena raised her chin and glared at him, she could smell the oil on her skin and it's making her skin shiver.

She gasped and shoved a hand into the french fries machine which still has some oil. After wetting her hand, she immediately smacked it on Barney's face.

"How do you feel now?" she gave a mirthless laugh and started running away when he saw him putting his hand into the machine.
