Begin Again

Everything happened so fast that Selena found herself sitting on the passenger seat in Alejandro's car.

The car moved at normal speed, her eyes were looking straight at the road as the soft melody played on the radio.

"So," Alejandro momentarily glanced at her and to the road.

"Yeah?" she replied, turning her head to look at him.

Then, she saw the corner of his lips lifting, and a slight chuckle let out from his parted lips.

"How long are we going to stay at your uncle's house?" Alejandro asked, his lips stayed smiling looking at the road.

"Overnight, why?"

"Oh! One night?" he looked at her for a moment, there was a hint of disappointment attached to his voice.

"Yes, why?"

"Well, you have two luggage. I thought we are going to stay longer," he gulped nervously after saying it, fingers were tapping on the steering wheel.

Selena eased for a moment. Even she was unsure why her family had packed most of her clothes but, she couldn't do anything since they just shoved her luggage in Alejandro's car and pushed her into the passenger seat.

"My family is crazy so, it's normal they do this kind of stuff," she bit on her lower lips. Somehow ashamed that they acted like that in front of Alejandro.

"Maybe we can stay longer" without looking at Selena, Alejandro anxiously asked that question.

Selena was astonished, unsure of what to say. She gulped hard and, looked at the side mirror – watching the cars behind them.

She doesn't have a problem staying at Danny's house for some days. And the thought of spending time with Alejandro somehow excite her.

She blushed a little, (maybe I can use this opportunity to know him well,) she convinced herself.

With her cheeks blushing like tomatoes, Selena looked at the road, "what about your work?" saying that her fingers were nervously playing with each other. She didn't give him a straight answer but, she hopes that Alejandro will get her point.

She doesn't want him to think of her as an easy woman, not that she wants their possible relationship to move slow.

"I can get ask for off. I haven't had a vacation for years so for sure they will let me have a rest day," Alejandro confidently replied.

"Ok," Selena lowered her sight to her lap, watching her fingers fighting with each other while her mind was screaming, calling herself an easy woman for agreeing so quickly.

(What's wrong with that?) One side of her mind defended herself.

(It's fine right,?) She asked herself.

(It's not like he will do something to me, right? Danny will be there) having that thought in her mind, Selena's hand absently hug herself. Her eyes full of suspicion turned to check at Alejandro.

(Well, he looks gentleman unlike his pervert brother) she said in her mind. Since the incident at the hospital, Alejandro had never said anything that would put her in an awkward position, unlike his brother who does nothing than to ask her for sex or kiss her without permission.

She sighed and plucked her lips. Alejandro suddenly made a turn to the left, leaving the high-speed road.

"Where are we going?" she asked with confusion.

"I just need to get some clothes in my apartment. Is it fine?" Alejandro asked, switching his eyes between the road and to her.

"Sure," she said after some moments of silence and seems like Alejandro took it differently.

With a worried tone, he said, " you can stay in the car. It will be quick."

Selena's eyes were shining with confusion as she turned to look back at him, she doesn't know why but she really likes looking at him, especially at his serious face when he's driving.

"It's fine Alejandro. I trust you," she mumbled softly.

Alejandro was stunned to hear it from Selena, he took in a deep breath and moved one of his hand from holding the steering wheel to Selena's cheek.

Then, Alejandro gently brushed her hair behind her ear.

His knuckles against her cheek have made her body to shiver, a simple touch made by him has caused her body to react differently, what would happen if he goes further.

With that thought in her mind, Selena's face reddened.

She bit her lips so hard, trying to remove the thought in her head.

"are you ok?" Alejandro suddenly asked.

Selena nodded her head as a response, but still, Alejandro placed a hand on her forehead, checking her temperature.

Alejandro's head tilted as he tried to check Selena's forehead. Her body was at normal temperature but, her face was burning red.

"Well, you don't have a fever. If you are feeling unwell, we can go back," he meant what he just said even though a small voice in his head was telling him to just shut up.

"I am fine Alejandro. Let's go to your place," she gave him a soft smile, assuring that she's alright.

Alejandro nodded, and his hand went down from her forehead to her hand on her lap.

Feeling the warmth of Alejandro's palm Selena could not help but smile. She bit her lips but his touch has made her smile even more.

Selena moved her hand and intertwined their fingers, she could feel Alejandro was stunned for a moment so she gripped his hand once and looked at him.

Their eyes met for a moment and both of their lips curved in a smile.
