INTRODUCTION PART 2

"Dad, what's going on? Where are you going dad? I want to come with you." Princess Melanie said with a look that told those present that she wouldn't change her mind and immediately proceeded to wrap herself around her father's leg tightly.

The King seemed to have forgotten about his daughter's presence so he quickly calmed down so as not to frighten her.

"Darling, today's your birthday, go have fun. The guests are waiting for you in the ballroom. Daddy will be back alright? I promise." King Matthew was the only one who could make his daughter change her mind on whatever decision that she had made.

"But dad, it's my birthday. You're supposed to stay and celebrate with me. You promised me dad." The look in her eyes at that moment made even the King want to dismiss anything and everything and celebrate his daughter's tenth birthday. If only it didn't involve multiple lives and his family's safety, he would have told his right hand man, Fredrick to settle it.

"Your Majesty, we need to leave now. Although the men of the Kingdom are ready to fight and the royal army are still standing with us despite the seal being in another's hands, they might not hold on for long." General Samuel still managed to look unfazed as he said that even with the scene playing before him.

The King acted like he didn't even hear what the General of his army had said. General Samuel was already used to being ignored whenever he said something that didn't agree with what his daughter wanted. He just couldn't understand how a little child was capable of putting a King in such a difficult position.

"Darling, I promise you, I'll be back and I'll make it up to you. You know I've always attended your birthdays so please, just this once, I can't attend but don't worry, your mother would stand in for me." Seeing that she still hadn't loosened her hold on his leg, he gently patted her head and said ,"And now, you have a chance to prove how good a warrior you can be by protecting your mother and baby brother inside of her. Can you help daddy with that?"

Slowly, she loosened her hold on his leg and looked up at him with eyes as wide as saucers. "Really dad, you'd let me become a warrior if I succeed?"

"That's not what I said," but seeing that her eyes looked so sad when he said that he nervously laughed and said, "Oh okay. I guess if you do a really good job." He couldn't help but quietly sigh in relief when he saw that the shine in her eyes were back. "Now don't you have a party to host and two people to protect? I suggest you run along now." He said before getting down on one knee and pulling her into a tight hug.

"Okay dad, you're the best." Saying this she gave her father a kiss on his cheek and ran from his chambers to her personal chambers, leaving General Samuel and her father to their own official duties.
