Jiu Jiang Hou chuckled upon hearing Luo Feng's decision, "Alright, everything will go according to Brother Luo He's wishes." He couldn't help but marvel at how Luo Feng, with only an old servant and a disciple close to him, could act with such little concern. It was indeed enviable, but he was fortunate to have such a Chaos Peak powerhouse as his friend.
"Huyang City will now belong to Brother Luo He. I still need to report this to the Lord of the country, mainly to settle the affairs of the five great families who originally managed the City Lord's mansion," Jiu Jiang Hou said.
"Thank you for taking care of this," Luo Feng nodded.
As they talked, the fate of various parties in Huyang City was being decided.
Meanwhile, within Huyang City, the Heart Shadow Sect was in a state of panic.
"With Liu Yin Hou gone, what should we do?" The Heart Shadow Sect Master, along with the eighteen elders and Qiu Yi, were all anxious. Their lives were now at the mercy of Jiu Jiang Hou's faction.
"What else can we do? Luo He Da Sheng and Jiu Jiang Hou are both here in the city; we have no power to resist. We can only await our fate."
"They might spare us because of our two ancestors. But our treasures... they're probably going to be taken."
As they debated their fate, a wave of spatial power swept through the Heart Shadow Sect's compound, and all the Eternal True Gods were forcibly transported.
"Where are we?"
"Have we been captured?"
When they looked around, they found themselves in a massive prison. They knew immediately that they had been caught without resistance and that it must have been Jiu Jiang Hou who personally moved them.
Inside the prison, one of Jiu Jiang Hou's personal guards, Jiang Yu You, led a group of subordinates. They stood coldly, facing the thousands of Eternal True Gods. Moroza and Mo Yu Qingyan were also present.
"By order of Lord Luo He, we are investigating the Heart Shadow Sect's plundering and massacre in Huyang City," Jiang Yu You announced.
The words sent a shiver down the spines of the Heart Shadow Sect's Eternal True Gods.
Investigating the plundering and massacre?
"Ancestors, we've been captured by Luo He Da Sheng and Jiu Jiang Hou, and now they're going to investigate our plundering and killing. What should we do?" the Heart Shadow Sect Master urgently contacted the two Chaos Realm ancestors.
"Endure it," one ancestor replied tersely.
"We cannot afford to offend Luo He Da Sheng now!" explained the other.
"Are we just going to let them kill us?" the Sect Master pressed, but the ancestors had already severed communication.
"Whether we live or die depends on Luo He Da Sheng's mercy," the other ancestor finally responded before also cutting off communication. The two Chaos Realm ancestors were exhausted.
Previously, their disciples' reckless actions had inadvertently caused the death of a descendant of Jiu Yuan Da Sheng, leading to his wrath. One ancestor was killed, and the other two barely escaped. Jiu Yuan Da Sheng, despite his anger, had many considerations to make. But Luo He Da Sheng, who had overpowered Liu Yin Hou and had few attachments, might not be so restrained. Angering him could lead to the death of another ancestor.
"By order of Lord Luo He, the Heart Shadow Sect, which ordered the plundering and massacre, no longer needs to exist. It is hereby disbanded," Jiang Yu You declared. "All disciples who participated in the massacre will be executed without mercy."
The thousands of Eternal True Gods trembled with fear.
The sect was gone, and now they faced execution?
"Those who only plundered but did not kill will be dealt with more leniently," Jiang Yu You added.
Many of the Eternal True Gods breathed a sigh of relief; only a minority had indulged in senseless slaughter.
"Our sect has two Chaos Realm ancestors! You dare kill us?"
"Luo He Da Sheng and Jiu Jiang Hou are both in the Chaos Realm; they can't just bully the weak!"
The Eternal True Gods who had participated in the slaughter began to panic and shout in desperation. However, under the formation that enveloped the City Lord's mansion, they were easily restrained and silenced. With Luo Feng and Jiu Jiang Hou present, the Heart Shadow Sect's Eternal True Gods had no power to resist.
"Our City Lord's mansion monitored the entire city, recording many of the plundering and slaughter scenes. Moreover, the Heart Shadow Sect itself has records of these events. None of those who slaughtered will escape, and no innocent Eternal True God will be wrongly punished," Jiang Yu You said to Moroza, who stood beside him.
"The Master is still very merciful," Moroza remarked calmly as he looked at the group of Eternal True Gods.
"Luo He Da Sheng is merciful."
"Those who indulged in slaughter deserve to die."
"Those weak citizens had no way to resist; there was no need for slaughter. It was a few disciples who caused this disaster for us."
"Luo He Da Sheng is merciful for sparing us."
Those Eternal True Gods who would survive praised Luo He Da Sheng. To them, survival was all that mattered; the sect was already in decline and on the verge of splitting apart. Now, its complete dissolution seemed like the best outcome.
In the Yu Kingdom's royal capital, at the residence of Princess Yu Shui Tian Yu:
"What?"
Yu Shui Tian Yu had just received detailed information about the battle in Huyang City.
The sudden rise of a Chaos Peak being might not be significant in the two great ancient nations, but in the edge countries, it was a major event. Clients who subscribed to long-term intelligence reports from the Flame Wind Pavilion's dark hall would be the first to receive such information.
"This Luo He is actually a Chaos Peak being who has been hiding in Huyang City?" Yu Shui Tian Yu couldn't believe it.
As the daughter of the King of Yu Kingdom, she had a high status and broad knowledge. She knew what a Chaos Peak being meant in an edge country: they could determine the order within the nation. Even the royal children of the two great ancient nations had to show restraint in front of such a being.
"Summon the Black Butcher and Suzi," Yu Shui Tian Yu ordered.
"Yes, Your Highness," the attendant outside the hall responded, and soon the Black Butcher and his disciple, Suzi, arrived. They were both very respectful; their lives had indeed improved significantly since coming to the capital.
"Your Highness," the Black Butcher and Suzi greeted with respect. Suzi was puzzled, as he usually didn't have the qualifications to meet the princess.
"I received some news today," Yu Shui Tian Yu said with a smile, "Liu Yin Hou personally acted in Huyang City."
The Black Butcher and Suzi were startled. Had he really taken action?
"Luo He intervened and defeated Liu Yin Hou," Yu Shui Tian Yu said, watching their shock. She herself had been shocked when she first heard the news.
"This... this..." The Black Butcher and Suzi could hardly believe it.
"Luo He's true identity is actually a Chaos Peak being hiding in Huyang City," Yu Shui Tian Yu explained. "The fact that you were able to form a connection with him during his time of seclusion is indeed a stroke of fortune for both of you."
"You may leave now," Yu Shui Tian Yu dismissed them.
"Yes," the Black Butcher and Suzi respectfully took their leave.
As she watched them go, Yu Shui Tian Yu thought, "They may be of great use in the future."
At the Yan Feng Pavilion:
Pavilion Master Chu Yu and Luo Feng sat across from each other, with the Vice Pavilion Master accompanying them.
"Brother Luo He, you certainly fooled me well," Pavilion Master Chu Yu laughed. "I really thought you were just an Eternal True God."
"I was in seclusion in Huyang City, focusing on refining my divine body," Luo Feng explained. Since he had brought Moroza with him, he had to behave somewhat normally. Admitting that he was a Chaos Peak being in seclusion was the best explanation. Even if people suspected he was a reincarnated strongman, it was of little consequence.
"Since you were already in the Chaos Realm, and I have been for a while now, we can start preparing to return to the Flame Wind Kingdom," Pavilion Master Chu Yu said.
"I'm ready to leave at any time," Luo Feng replied. Thanks to the wealth of information from his master, Zu Shan Ke, and the Broken East River lineage, Luo Feng was very curious about the Yan Feng Kingdom and wanted to see it for himself. Moreover, his ancestor was also in the Yan Feng Kingdom, and he intended to meet up with him.
"You should know that the true powerhouses of the Origin Continent are mostly found in the two great ancient nations," Pavilion Master Chu Yu said. "In edge countries, Chaos Realm cultivators generally reach the peak of the Chaos Realm and can't progress further. But in the two great ancient nations... there are stronger, special inheritances that allow Chaos Realm cultivators to potentially possess the strength of ordinary God Kings."
"Such strength is what we in the two great ancient nations consider the true limit of the Chaos Realm, and those who reach this level are called 'Transcendent Chaos Beings,'" Pavilion Master Chu Yu explained.
"And in terms of God King-level cultivation, our two great ancient nations are also far superior to any other country."
"For example, the King of Yu and the King of Shi, who established second-rate countries, are almost all guest ministers of the two great ancient nations," Pavilion Master Chu Yu said. "Throughout the Origin Continent, aside from the natives, all other forces choose to align with one of the two great nations."
Luo Feng nodded. He knew all this, having received detailed information about the Yan Feng Kingdom before entering the Origin Continent. But it was still very helpful for Pavilion Master Chu Yu to explain it to him now.
"Brother Luo He, as long as you follow me to the Yan Feng Kingdom, you will receive the best resources available," Pavilion Master Chu Yu promised.
So, this is the end of volume 2, the next chapter is a little recap by IET. In the future, I might start translating Yan Feng Kingdom as Flame Wind Kingdom but idk yet we'll see. Also gonna be calling "Pavilion Master Chu Yu" either Highness Chu Yu or just Chu Yu from now on since he isn't a Pavilion Master anymore and is technically from the Di Chu royal lineage of Yan Feng.
As for volume 3, I will probably take a day or two as a break but we'll see if I can stop myself from reading it and then we'll be all caught up! See you guys soon, hope you're enjoying it as much as I am even with the small little plot holes lol
