What does those words mean?

I lied on the soft mattress after dressing up into a simple mint dress. The wardrobe had several dresses prepared, and simple loafers and doll shoes. I wore a pair of simple brown loafer after letting my black hair down. It felt weird. I'm all alone in this room, without Maddie or any maid to be seen.

I haven't heard anything about the ambush. Maybe I should ask the king about it.
