76. The dome appearing

Steven curiously looked at him. "Is there anything you miss eating? Jenny is a really good cook."

"There are so many things my mom used to prepare..." His eyes darkened and suddenly he felt an arm over his shoulder. He saw Jacob sheepishly smiling at him. "What?"

"Mom downloaded recipes from all over the world. Go to the main computer inside and try to find the recipes. If she has it on the computer, she will be able to cook it." He held his hand and took him inside.

They sat down by the dinette and he gave him a notebook. "Just write the names you know."

Tarik was astonished to find all the dishes he craved inside. Kala pointed at a couple of dishes. "These we can prepare tomorrow. They will go well with the barbeque. We can make one day only dishes you want. We exchange the day of food. Every day someone else can choose the meal. Stuart was the worst. He wanted to eat whole day spicy Mexican food. Mom had to cook two versions. One spicy and one not spicy for us. Anyway, I liked it, but Stuart had for the whole day runner."

"Runner?" He never heard that. "What is that?"

Clearance was nearby and started laughing. "That means he was running to the toilet the whole day."

Tarik first thought about it for a moment and started laughing as well. Roy and Florence joined in with kids and laughter could be heard from far away.

But pair of cold eyes stared in their direction. "How bothersome. Wait... Impossible..." His eyes darkened as he repeated. "Impossible..."

Meira slowly opened her eyes. Jenny went away and she opened the window to sense danger. And she did.

With a swift move, she opened the door and came out. In passing, she saw the boy and just patted his head. "What's the use of your power if you don't use it?"

Tarik furrowed his eyebrows and followed to be stopped by her. "I will teach you how to use your powers to help to make mind protection in case Jenny is weak or she isn't around. Your power should be used as a defense, didn't you know? If you use mind control to control the mind, you will just destroy that little bit of your power. From tomorrow on, I will teach you and Jacob to work together."

She waved her hand and started running in a certain direction. Right after her, another person rushed pass him, leaving after him just afterimage. "What was that?"

Jacob came out and sighed. "They are night guards do they usually sleep in the day time. It seems something big woke them up. Don't worry, Jenny will ad the shield around the city, turning all power users into commoners. Of course, we as the crew are not affected by it."

Tarik didn't understand what he was talking about as he still was thinking about that women's words. Did he use it in the wrong way? But no matter what, he can't think too much. He somehow trusted Jenny from the first moment on. She is neither a beautiful creature nor an aging Elder. But her whole countenance and her aura made her trustful. Yes, the aura is what made him follow her.

"Interesting. You are dazing away like mom. She sometimes thinks of stuff and freezes on one spot, just like you." Jacob chuckled at his funny expression.

Tarik realized that he was still standing in mid of the stairs, not going up or down, practically in movement. Just like Jacob said, almost frozen in movement. But he is a mind user, how can he become so befuddled?
