Chapter 3

Storm

The flight from Houston to Dublin took just under ten hours. On the flight, I did what Logan had said and set up the phone with my favorite apps and downloaded music onto Spotify. We were halfway over the Atlantic Ocean when Logan and I along with our pilots and air stewardess had renounced our ties to the Hunter's Moon Pack, which meant we no longer had any links to that pack.

During the flight, Logan had sent me a text message that contained the details for my new email account and various other accounts he had set up for me in my new identity. He also gave me my newly forged documents that his friend had made for me. I took a quick look at my new identity, noting the name, Lena Wolf, smiling at the irony of the name, as I placed everything into my backpack.

By the time we had landed in Ireland, it was five o'clock in the afternoon. Seeing as how all of us were exhausted from the long flight, we decided we would eat our dinner and sleep on the plane for the night as the trip had wiped us out. Another reason we stayed on the plane for the night was so we could maintain a low profile, this was because the most likely place for us to have the misfortune of running into other werewolves was at an airport.

Alicia, our air stewardess made us a nice dinner and after we had eaten, we sat and watched a movie before falling asleep. The next morning, Logan awoke me to the sound of Alicia making us a nice English breakfast. After we had eaten our breakfast, I went and had a shower and freshened up before changing into an outfit that was much like the one that I had worn the day before.

I put the clothes I had just taken off into a plastic shopping bag and placed the shopping bag into my suitcase so I could launder the items once I had gotten to the university. After I had finished getting freshened up, all my luggage was taken from the plane and loaded up into Logan's hire car, which was a black Range Rover. Once I had said my goodbyes to our flight crew, Logan and I made the two-and-a-half-hour trip to the university campus in Galway.

When we arrived at the university campus, I couldn't help but admire the structure of the buildings and the beautiful grounds of the campus. It was marvelous. I was so excited to finally be here! Logan and I made our way into the administrations building and I spoke with the ladies in the office before making our way out to the car and getting my suitcases and my bedding out of the trunk and making our way up to my assigned dorm room.

When we arrived at the door of my dorm room, I knocked on the door just out of courtesy, not wanting to make a poor impression with my roommate by walking in on something gross, say like my roommate shagging a guy on the kitchen table for example. When the room's door opened, a girl with blonde hair and blue eyes answered it, her scent hitting me immediately, alerting me to the fact that she was a werewolf.

I felt a cold shiver run along my spine as I realized I was going to be living on another pack's territory. In my excitement at the very thought of finally getting away from my pack and beginning a new life for myself, I had never even thought of this being a possibility. Being here with this girl was dangerous. I was in just as much danger, maybe more, living here with this girl as I had been living within my old pack.

Packs hate rogues, and I was now a rogue having renounced my pack ties with Mason's pack. Masking my features to hide my concern at this latest discovery, I played it cool and introduced myself to the girl.

"Hi, I'm Lena Wolf. I'm your new roommate, and this is my brother," I told her, holding out my hand to her with a smile.

She shook my hand and said, "Hi, I'm Lilly, it's nice to meet you. Please come in."

Giving her a friendly smile, Logan and I followed her inside. The self-contained dorm room was awesome. It reminded me of a high-quality motel room. The lounge room had a three-seater dark blue lounge and two matching recliner chairs along with a large flat-screen television. The rooms kitchen had a wooden table with four matching timber chairs and a matching stainless-steel stove and oven, fridge and freezer, and a microwave. The appliances looked new, and I noticed that the kitchen had ample cupboard and storage space.

Upon closer inspection, I noticed that all the pieces of furniture that were in the dorm room appeared to be brand new. Lilly led us into a bedroom that was located just off the left side of the lounge room. The bedroom was decent sized with abundant space.

The bedroom had two queen-sized beds and an plenty of closet space in it. I placed my bags and my pillows on the spare bed that Lilly told me was to be mine. Logan and I explained to Lilly I had a few other items we needed to get out of the car. We made our way back downstairs and grabbed my instruments out of the car and carried them back up to my dorm room.

As soon as we sat my instruments on the floor in the bedroom, Logan grabbed me, engulfing me in one of his big bear hugs.

"Goodbye baby girl, you make sure you take care of yourself, and you make sure you call me if you need me for anything. I mean it, anything at all, you be sure to call me, okay?" he whispered resting his chin on top of my head.

I nodded my head as I continued to hold onto him tightly. If I was being honest, I had to admit that I was scared to let him go. Tears were trailing silently down my cheeks as I thought about how much I was going to miss him when he left. Once he had left, I would be alone for the first time in my life.

I was aware of Lilly watching our emotional display with open curiosity. She was probably thinking that I was a total cry baby, as she watched me clinging to Logan, with tears running down my face. It wasn't long before Logan let me go and wiped the tears from my cheeks with his thumbs.

"I have to go, baby," he whispered, looking at me with tears in his eyes.

I nodded and hugged him to me again. "Walk me out?" he asked, as he withdrew from the hug.

Fighting further tears, I nodded as I grabbed my backpack and put it on, before following Logan out of the room and out to where he had parked his hire car. When we got to the car, I said, "Goodbye big brother, call me when you get to Germany." He nodded and grinned at me like an idiot, then he lent in and kissed my forehead before saying, "I will call you in a few hours to let you know I made it there safely, okay?"

Lilly

The moment the door closed, and my new roommate and her brother had walked down the hall, I bolted into the bedroom which was directly across from mine on the other side of the lounge room. Jumping into the air like Spiderman I launched myself on top of the sleeping form of my sister Leah, landing on her like a human cannonball.

Leah sat up in fright, screaming at me. "Lilly for the love of God, have you lost your ever-loving mind?"

Ignoring her question, I cried, "You guys will never guess what has just happened!"

"All I can say is for you to wake me up in this fashion, someone had better have died," Leah snapped, clearly not impressed with my choice of morning wake ups for her.

"Well, we all might die in our sleep tonight, does that count?" I retorted looking at her.

"Just what the hell is that supposed to mean?" my other sister Julie asked from her bed on the other side of the room.

"I just met our new roommate and her brother. They are rogues," I told them, grinning at the fact that I had known something before the two of them for a change.

"What?" they both cried in unison, sitting up in their beds and looking horrified at my revelation.

"You heard me! So, what do you think? Was it worth waking you up in that fashion over?" I taunted Leah.

"Lilly, knock it off, this is serious," Julie chided, sitting up more in her bed, leaning against the headboard, and still looking concerned.

"We should ring dad, immediately," Leah said, ignoring me and picking up her cell phone. Looking at me she asked, "Where's the rogue?"

"She went downstairs with her brother," I replied, shrugging my shoulders.

Nodding at that information, Lilly dialled our father's number putting the phone on speaker so Julie and I could hear the conversation. It didn't take long for him to answer. "Leah, hello love," he greeted.

"Hi Daddy, I have something to tell you," Leah replied.

"Let me guess, you have found your mate, and he is an alpha, so you will abandon my pack immediately?" my father said in a teasing tone, making Leah laugh.

"No, no, that's not it. We might have a bit of a problem here at the university, though," Leah said.

"What kind of problem?" he asked, suddenly sounding his usual alpha self.

"We have a new roommate, I haven't met her, but Lilly has, and she said that the girl is a rogue," Leah told him.

"You're boarding with a rogue?" he asked, sounding a mixture of shocked and disapproving.

"We didn't choose this Daddy, the school handles these things not us girls, you know that better than anyone," Leah replied, trying to remain diplomatic.

"No love, I understand, I'm sorry. This is just a shock for me, that's all," he explained.

"Well, what do you want us to do about this? Lilly is totally convinced that we will be murdered in our sleep tonight," Leah replied, looking at me. I poked my tongue out at her and I was rewarded with a wink and a smile from her.

"I'm sure that it won't come to that love. Just monitor the rogue and check in with me daily. If anything happens, you call me immediately, understood?" he asked.

"Yes, Daddy," we replied in unison. When Leah hung up the phone, we got up off her bed and made our way into my bedroom. As soon as we entered the room, Lena's scent hit us, but the scent didn't smell like the usual rogue smell. I couldn't put my finger on it, but the scent was different. Shaking that thought off quickly, the three of us sat on my bed and gazed at her luggage. The first thing I noticed was that for a rogue, her luggage was expensive. I was also curious about all the music instruments she had; I was guessing they were also expensive. I hadn't known anyone who was into playing music instruments before, so I was curious about it. I had a lot of questions about our new roommate. Who was she? Where was she from? How had she become a rogue? Was she dangerous?

In that moment I would have liked nothing more than to go through her stuff and try to get an understanding of who this Lena girl was as a person. But I didn't want her to walk in on me invading her privacy and rifling through her luggage. That would have been awkward. It wasn't long before I heard a knock on the door. Looking at my sisters they both motioned for me to go get the door. Getting up off my bed, I went out to answer the door.

Storm

I stood there in front of the dorm building and watched as Logan drove off in his hire car. Once he was out of sight, I made my way back upstairs to the dorm room which would now be my home for the next four years. When I got back up to my room, I was standing at the door when I realized that I had left my key on my bed with the information pack the administration lady had given me earlier.

With tears still streaming silently down my cheeks, I knocked on the door and Lilly opened the door again, smiling at me. "Sorry, I forgot my key," I told her as I stepped inside wiping the tears from my face.

I quietly followed Lilly into the room that I would be sleeping in. When I got in the room, I noticed there were two other blonde girls sitting on Lilly's bed and just like Lilly they were also werewolves. Seeing my confusion, Lilly said, "Hi Lena, sorry to appear as though we are ambushing you because, we aren't. I just thought you guys should meet, these are my two sisters, Leah and Julie."

"Sisters? You mean like Sorority sisters?" I asked confused.

The girl, Leah, I think her name was, laughed and said, "No not sorority sisters, we are biological sisters, triplets actually."

The girls were not identical, and the only thing that was the same about them appearance wise was their shade of blonde hair, Lilly and Leah had blue eyes, whereas Julie's eyes were green.

"Oh, okay then, well, hi, I am Lena, and it is nice to meet you all," I replied. Then out of mere curiosity, I asked, "Where did the two of you come from? And how did you happen to get in here so fast? I didn't think I was even gone that long."

Seeing my apparent confusion, the girls laughed, then Leah said, "Follow me."

I followed the girls out of the bedroom and back into the lounge area, and Leah pointed out a room which was on the other side of the lounge room. "That is mine and Julie's room right in there, it is set up exactly the same way as yours and Lilly's." Then pointing to a doorway just off the left side of the kitchen area, she said, "and in there is the bathroom and opposite is the toilet and the door to the right side of the kitchen over there, right beside mine and Julie's room is the laundry, which has a front loader washer and dryer in it."

"Thank you for pointing that out for me, it's a nice set up they have provided us with," I told Leah.

I walked back into the bedroom I would share with Lilly. "Can you please tell me if the closets on this side of the room are for my use? And if so, are they empty?" I asked Lilly.

"Yes, those are yours, and they are all empty," Lilly replied.

I walked over to my bed and had just opened one of my suitcases when Leah asked, "Do you need any help unpacking?"

"No thank you, I've got it, but thank you for the offer," I replied.

"Well, do you mind if we stay in here and talk to you while you unpack?" Lilly asked.

"Knock yourself out," I replied. "So, are we going to bother to address the elephant in the room?" Julie asked, looking over at her sisters.

"Don't you mean the wolf in the room," I replied, which made Lilly laugh out loud.

"Right," Julie replied, not sounding impressed with my joke, "So, you smell like a rogue," Julie said looking at me.

"You're right, I am a rogue, but I mean no harm to any of you girls or to anybody else for that matter. I am just here to do my studies and earn my degree the same as everybody else here, and then I will leave and you will never see me again," I replied watching the three of them.

The three girls looked between each other as though they were trying to decide if I really was safe or not. I could appreciate their uncertainty at this awkward situation we had suddenly found ourselves in. But apart from reassuring them I meant them no harm, there wasn't much else I could do. They would either accept what I was saying, or they wouldn't.

"Lilly said that the guy that brought you here was your brother. I am guessing he is also a rogue. So, what is he doing while you are here at school? Is he at university too? Or is he working in town…?" Julie asked.

"Neither!" I stated cutting her off, "He is not even staying in Ireland. As soon as he left the campus, he went back to the airport to get on our Jet and leave the country!" I stated.

"Wait, you're rogues, and you have your own jet, how much money do you guys have?" Leah asked looking at me shocked.

"That's rude! You know what? I am done talking about this topic. I am sorry, but I am done discussing my family and my family's financial situation with you. I apologize if I sound rude because I am not trying to be. In my defense, I have only just met you people and there are certain topics that society states are off limits to people you don't know that well, it is common courtesy that people accept boundaries. And from here on out the three of you can either accept that I mean you no harm or not, either way it is up to you, at the end of the day, it is that simple," I replied.

The girls looked at me in shock at my brief outburst. Feeling a little guilty, I looked away from them as I began unpacking my suitcases in silence and putting my clothes and personal items away in the closets and draw space on my side of the bedroom. After a while, the girls who were still watching me unpack began making comments and asking questions regarding my clothing and shoes and accessories. The tension soon faded into the background, and it wasn't long before we were joking and laughing just like normal girls.

I set my laptops and other electronics and stationery items up on my designated student study desk to prepare for when my classes would begin. The study desk was located against the wall at the end of my bed. Adjacent to it was Lilly's desk, which she had already set up with her belongings. In between the two study desks, there was a bookshelf. Lilly had moved her items so we could have two shelves each. On my shelves, I stored my music books and the novels I had brought with me. The most precious items that I had brought with me, such as my mother's jewelry and my journals, I left hidden in one of my suitcases.

Once I had packed everything away out of my suitcases, I stored my suitcases by stacking them up, so I could hide them out of the way in a closet. In the room's corner, there was a space between the wall and my study desk. I used this spot to store my instruments. I hung my bath towels up on the hooks near my bed then I made my bed. Once I had finished making my bed, I walked around and sat on it and waited until I was alone in the room. When the girls exited the room to make themselves lunch, I grabbed my cash out of my backpack. Leaving one thousand dollars in my backpack, I opened the closet with my suitcases in it, and hid the rest of the money in the lining of one of my suitcases. After I had hidden the money, I too left the room and joined the girls in the kitchen to help them prepare lunch. My new life had begun. Now, it was time for me to settle into the life of a university student.
