Surviving the Apocalypse in the Multiverse

All of it started on the Earth. The most Isolated planet in the entire Multiverse. Saying it was tragic would be a big understatement for the beings, named humans, on this planet. Well, maybe it was except for one, who only cared for himself and the closest beings to him... We don't know how, or why, he became like he did, and accomplished what he did. All we know, all the Multiverse knows, is that he didn't care for anything and wouldn't help anyone unless there was something in it for him. That is unless he felt like helping you or caring about something... but that came at a cost. Some say that you had to sell your soul to him, others say you became his loyal servant through black magic. What is fact and what is fiction, many don't know... about him who goes by the name of Dark King by some and Ruthless Adventurer by others. That is unless you are me, who sees him as someone else and by another name... And that is... I see him as a kind person to those he takes in as friends and a ruthless monster to his enemies. He is known to me by the name his parents gave him... the name Abel. --------------------------------------------------- This is my first novel, so pleeeease take it easy on me. I hope that you can give me positive feedback, like telling me what you would like to see more of in the novel and what you think I can change. Other than that, I hope you enjoy the book, and anything you gift me so that I can do this full-time would make me appreciate you a lot.

Blood and Blade?!

[Day 6… Well, he's fucked...]

Like a predator stalking its prey, both zrendza crept forth, their delight at their victims' predicament palpable as they grinned because of their unfavorable predicament.

They focused their attention on Abel, as Kylie was still behind the desk and blocked by Abel.

Slowly placing power into their legs, readying themselves to pounce upon their prey.

Abel placed his broken stick in between the zrendza and himself, only noticing now that from its 1 meter length, it had grown to a shocking 1,8 meter, becoming even taller than himself.

How he didn't notice this before he could only chalk it up to being distracted by the issues that had been at hand since earlier, with dealing with Khepri and then seeing his sister and having to be cautious to not get charred into oblivion by Kylie.

Now seeing the stick, or more aptly, a staff, as it was just so long, Abel seemed to spot some faint pulsating runes on it, yet the enemies before him did not care for his inspection of the big stick before him.

Both only cared for the meat on their prey's bones and strength.

Pushing with all of their strength, the zrendza propelled themselves through the air towards the tasty offerings before them.

Abel, upon seeing this, pushed the stick in his hands forward, striking both zrendza in the neck as they proceeded to claw into his forearms and chest, causing blood as black as pitch to splatter across the floor and run down his arms.

They continued this until something shocking happened: Abels pitch-black blood came into contact with the stick.

[BINDING WITH ITEM [Broken Stick] SUCCESSFUL]

Black runes, dark enough to absorb the light that was already scarce within the office.

The two zrendza backed away from the stick, which emanated an air of death that pressed on the very soul, making it difficult to breathe.

Like liquid, the energies that were exuded from the stick slowly slithered and coalesced into the form of a pitch-black scythe.

Abel was mesmerized by the beauty of the weapon in his hands, whereas Kylie was completely unaware of what was happening as she couldn't see shit.

Omi, though, was looking at the scythe with a shocked yet knowing look as she then looked at the inconspicuous stone ring on the right middle finger of Abels right hand.

On the other hand, both zrendza were looking vigilantly towards the dark weapon in their prey's hands, weary of what it was capable of as it was giving off the air of certain death.

Suddenly, Abel felt his mana decreasing as it got siphoned into the weapon in his hands.

Deciding that he should finish the fight as soon as possible, Abel swung the weapon at the two zrendza when something peculiar yet shocking happened.

Underneath both creatures, skeletal hands as black as night held them both in the exact spot that they were in as Abel swung his scythe, causing them to be unable to dodge the oncoming blade.

Eyes that should be unable to feel or show any emotion showed dread at seeing that pitch-black blade approach. Not able to move from being held fast to the ground, the zrendza wanted to voice their unwillingness towards this situation, but what greeted them was utter darkness.

The scythe sliced through both creatures like butter, carving their heads in half, causing the tops of their skulls to slide down and their bodies to fall towards the ground.

All that was heard after was a symphony of silence that spoke volumes to what the participants of such a show felt, especially the one who had caused it all.

Staring with a blank expression at the two half-decapitated bodies across from him, Abel was surprised, to say the least, at the effectiveness of the scythe.

Though, when he felt his mana still getting lower, he let go of the stick as if it were on fire, watching on as the runes sucked all the energy that had made it a scythe back into it.

"What happened?"

Kylie's curious voice broke Abel out of his entrancement.

"Nothing; the stick I've been holding turned into a scythe suddenly, and that's all." Abel spoke with a distracted tone as he was still trying to piece together the puzzle of what was happening.

For Kylie, though, it was as if she had heard the most ridiculous thing, as her mouth was in an O shape.

Realistically speaking, though, how Abel had explained the whole situation was very vague and extremely farfetched.

Snapping out of her shocked state, Kylie voiced her thoughts: "What do you mean the stick you were carrying turned into a scythe?"

Being snapped out of his thoughts by Kylie's question, Abel realized that he had not explained what had happened in the best possible way.

So he thought over how he should explain a fucking stick suddenly turning into a pitch-black scythe made of energy when he was saved.

"What happened was that the artifact that Abel has was bound to him because of the blood that spilled onto it, which then caused one of its abilities to manifest for a short time in exchange for a massive amount of mana on Abel's part." Omi said to answer Kylie's question as she saw Abel struggling to figure out how to explain what had happened.

Abel quickly remembered that he had gotten a stone ring with the stick, so while his wounds were fresh and he was still thanking whoever was looking after him that he couldn't feel pain, he dropped some blood onto it.

He waited for a minute as the anticipation for something miraculous to happen never came true, causing him to look up at Omi with a questioning look.

"I'm not sure either, Master, but it seems that as you killed different enemies, the stick absorbed something from them, so I'm only assuming that the ring also has to absorb some type of energy, albeit different from the stick, before it can be bound to you." Upon hearing her, Abel nodded and picked up the stick, which was now 2 cm longer than before.

Abel then looked back to Omi and Kylie, signaling with a tilt of his head to follow him, as he wanted to keep quiet to avoid attracting any more unwanted guests as well as because his mind was wandering over the events that had just transpired.

After absorbing the experience, or rather, the Multiversal Energies, Abel placed both bodies into his Inventory and proceeded to cautiously exit the office.

While exiting the office, Abel decided to check on his System to see if the update had been done.
