Life was boring for Jay, the main protagonist. Until a big change happened to his world, all of the nearby buildings changed, as if the whole school transfered to another world. Filled with magic and monsters, Jay gained the Class Beast Contracter while his friend gained the Class Bard. Can Jay and his friend Louis survive the apocalypse with their new found powers?
After being constantly challenged by a knight for the whole night, Bill was happy that they were finally leaving. The knight was powerful, even if he casted Berserk, the knight still cleverly parried every strike. If Bill exposed his vampiric powers, he could have beaten Sir Lamorak, but Vlad had already warned him several times to not reveal his abilities. Bill was beaten black and blue for several times, humiliated in front of his peers.
When they were leaving the city, Jay looked at Bill and smiled. "You suck at dueling," he said with a smug grin. "It was you, wasn't it?" shouted Bill furiously. "What do you mean?" said Jay, playing dumb. "It was you who ordered the knight to constantly pester me!" yelled Bill. "Nonsense," said Jay, ignoring Bill. "The mana in this country is lower than Corinth," said Malum, conjuring some mana. It cost more time and energy to cast the same spell. "That's probably a reason why there are more swordsmen in this country," said Jay.
The group continued to head towards Caerleon, running into some monsters on the way. The types of monsters that inhabit Caerleon were different than Corinth, since there was less mana in the region. Skeletons and goblins were rarely seen, but beast type monsters were common. There were cute rabbits that had sharp fangs that packed a punch, bears that had four arms, and some kind of mutated wolves. Jay was going to catch a wolf for Fen to add to his pack, but Fen refused, saying that he didn't like the wolves.
Soon they could see the capital of the City of Legions, Caerleon, a large city that had giant stone walls. They passed through the gates, and they were led to a giant ballroom. There were already a lot of people there, and judging by their clothes, they were from several different nations. There were also beings that were non-human, elves, dwarves, werepeople, beastmen, orcs, and even dryads. The group stayed in the corner, waiting for the host to start the event.
After minutes of awkwardness, the doors of the ballroom opened. A old man that was radiating with a dignified and majestic aura walked in, accompanied by several knights that were in full armor. Several people bowed immediately after seeing the man, and others followed suit. "Who is that?" whispered Jay, as he lowered his head. "Uther Pendragon, king of the City of Legions," said Louis, also bowing.
"Raise your heads," the king said, amplifying his voice with a magic trinket as he stood on the stage. "Thank you everyone for coming. Our country managed to gain the honor to host this year's Fight for Supremacy, I wish everyone luck," he said. A knight that was standing next to King Uther walked fowards, taking over the magic trinket. "Let me introduce this year's contestants. We have the Nile, who are well versed in the ways of Necromancy. Finishing thrid in last year's competition, they are definitely a force that can't be ignored," the knight said, pointing at a group wearing golden clothes.
"And over here we have the Amazons, consisting of powerful women, they are extremely skilled in hand to hand combat. Finishing second, will they be able to bring back number one this time?" the knight introduced a group of beautiful women. They were all tanned, wearing clothes that showed of their perfect body.
"Then we have last year's champion, Alfheim. Elves are well known for their archery skills and light magic, as well as their special connection with the forest. Will they manage to win twice in a row?" said the knight, introducing the elves. The Alfheim team not only consists of elves, there were also several fairies, dryads, spirits.
"Several new factions have joined this year's bout, one of them being the Devil's Descendants. Consisting of demons, half devils, and humans, their reputation isn't the best in the world. Wielding demonic energy, they could be hard to deal with," said the knight. Several gasps could be heard as people learned that the Devil's Descendants were going to join. "How dare you filthy demons turn up to such a holy event?" condemned a man in white. "Holy Empire, we will definitely beat you in this competition," sneered a half devil.
"Conflicts are banned in this room, please solve your disputes during the competition," the knight reminded. "Holy Empire, led by several angels, they excel in holy magic. They will definitely become a tough opponent to those who rely on dark or evil magic. Unfortunately, last year their road to victory was blocked by Alfheim." the knight said. "Also a new faction that will join this year, the Alanteans. Coming from the sea, they are extremely powerful in underwater fights. Even on land, they have powerful bodies," the knight said, pointing to several Alanteans. They were mermaids and mermen who shapeshifted their tails into legs. Most of them were holding a golden trident, a signature weapon of their faction.
"Over here we have the Qin Empire, being around since the dawn of mankind, they have refind their techniques to a insane level. They specialize in golems, alchemy, and machines they can't be ignored in mass battles," the knight introduced the Qin people.
"Edo, being separated from the mainland by a large ocean, crossed great lengths to join this year's battle. They are skilled in assassination and spying, and have spells that no one can imitate," pointing at a group of people who looked exactly like samurai.
"Werelands, home of the werebeasts. Werebeasts have the strongest physical capabilities of all the factions, and their shape-shifting abilities allow them to adapt quickly to the situation. They unfortunately lost to the Amazons last year, but the battle was most blood boilng fight of the whole event," said the knight, introducing the werepeople.
"The Underworld, consisting fully of Undead, they are a scary faction that feasts on the flesh and souls of others. They were eliminated easily last year by the Holy Empire," the knight said, introducing the undead. There were many kinds of Undead, skeletons, zombies, and so on. But the undead that joined were all high tier undead, so they didn't look much different from normal human beings.
The knight introduced all the different factions, this year. Other than the ten factions that were mentioned, there was also the Norse, Corinth, Babylon, and the City of Legions themselves. A total of fourteen power factions joined this year's competition, so getting first place definitely wasn't a easy task. The knight then went on to explain the rules. The rules were simple, only those who haven't come of age were allowed to join, and killing is allowed. They will fight group and solo battles, earning points for their team. Those who were caught cheating will be disqualified.
