Part 67: Cave

Embarking upon the water boat, we navigated the expanse with a newfound sense of purpose. The boat glided smoothly, its progress swift and resolute. Our conjecture that the presence of the boat was indicative of proximity to the sea was confirmed when it emerged from the pool and ventured into a cave – a pathway carved by nature that seemed to beckon us further.

As we entered the cave, darkness enveloped us, clinging to the crevices and corners with an insistent grip. However, the torch lights we carried dispelled the obscurity, revealing the grandeur of the cavern that lay ahead. The cave, despite its hidden depths, felt accommodating – a spacious conduit that held the promise of passage to uncharted territories.

The hum of the boat's motor was the sole sound that accompanied us through the cavern's belly, echoing against the stone walls. With each passing moment, we delved deeper into the abyss, our torch lights carving out a path that stretched into the heart of the earth.
