Survival Evolved: Incarnation

*ALL CHAPTERS ARE FREE* With little to no explanation for their wiped memory, several survivors, referred to as Arkians, wake up on a beach on what seems to be Earth. These survivors have many differences, but the most defining one is Sky; The one with a White Stone on the back of his left hand. What kind of journey will Sky undergo because of this White Stone? Survival Evolved is meant to take place through the eyes of a teenage boy (mainly), meaning that some things he doesn't pick up on or connect in his mind are done ON PURPOSE. 2. Survival Evolved often describes gore/wounds in a gruesome way. There are many scenes in which slavery, human trafficking, or torture are talked about, so read with caution!

Return Of The Rotten

"Can we really trust you as a person, Orion? As you said, we were at each other's throats only nine days ago. Who is to say that you aren't waiting for revenge?" Alex asked. He sat beside me and looked at Orion, leaning on the palms of his hands with his legs forward.

"Kid, I'm thirty-one years old. My need for revenge is dead, I don't want those things anymore. I'm sure you've seen it, but that White Stone amplifies your worst quality. My worst quality was my greed for more, more, and even more after that. Now that I don't have my White Stone, I'm just a normal adult, and you two are the children I have no problem watching over," Orion told us.

I didn't believe him at all... but somewhere in my head, I wanted to.

"How much do you know about Sky? You learned his last name, but have you heard about what he's been doing? What he has been through?" I asked Orion. I only wanted to see what the city knew, because if they knew anything, they probably would've told Orion to get more information.

"I don't know anything. I know that he's a victim of that White Stone like I was, but as of how he is now, where he's at mentally, and what he's doing? I have no idea. Tell me, what was it like after I died?" Orion asked us again. He slightly shifted his position and showed genuine curiosity.

"There was a girl... right after we sailed to that Isle with your body on it. Her name was Illya, Illya Asterio. She put Sky in this world where he lived a life up to fourteen years of age, he fought these fantastical beasts and gained new allies and new powers. By the end of it, Sky, and some of us had powers like manipulating the way gravity works and doing whatever it took to beat our enemies. Those strands... he boiled somebody alive with them. His creativity was never lacking, and he hasn't lost a battle since. With Cole and the rest of Quake, things are tough down here on Earth," I told Orion.

"So interesting... I knew he had an affinity for those damned things. It seems he's miles more powerful than me, so why would I try to fight you guys anymore?" Orion asked us once more. I thought about it for a second... and realized that he no longer has any reason to push against our forces.

"Okay, then I'll believe you," I started, looking back and forth through the aisle way before finishing my sentence, "What about getting out of here? Will you help us?" I asked him.

"Of course, if you can find a way out. We're probably being observed from a distance and any attempts at escape will be met with immediate reprimanding," Orion told me.

I lost hope for a moment, then started thinking of... outlandish ways to get what I want.

"The goal is to keep us alive, right? There are no sharp objects in this cell and rounded-off corners on everything. I have an idea, but this is gonna hurt like a son of a bitch," I said, standing up on my left leg, and hopping to the cell bars in the front of the cell.

"Before I do this, Orion, how long does it take for a knee injury like this take to heal?" I asked again.

"The back was cut out? In this city? Don't expect to walk again," He told me. I nodded.

"Just what I wanted," I said, before slamming my kneecap into the bar.

"SHIT!" I screamed out as the bar rang out loudly.

"Charlie, what are you doing?!" Alex shouted out. I put my finger against my lip to keep him quiet and slammed it again.

The pain was excruciating, probably one of the most intense things I've ever felt. However, I knew that putting myself in danger like this with my injury would do one of two things. I would either be dragged out of this cell and put somewhere else like a doctor's office, or I can get a guard close by and tell him that I'm starting to fall into shock and I might die. Either way, a goal can be achieved.

I slammed it again and felt the pain shoot through to the other side of my knee. It felt like something was ripped and snapped at the same time and I fell to the ground while clutching my knee. I screamed out in pain and heard the jangle of keys.

"Alex, punch me in the face right now, right near my eye! Give me more injuries!" I shouted out at him.

He seemed to understand what I was trying to do and hit me as hard as he could. I felt the bruise start to come up and kicked the cell bars again while I was on the cell floor. The pain was getting worse as the blood started to leak out of my wound once more.

"You're an insane kid. I see you have your work cut out for you... YEAH! BEAT HIM UP!" Orion shouted.

He was... helping us...?

Alex started to play the part and kept hitting me in the stomach, when the jangle of keys got closer and closer, the guard started to shout.

"No fighting! Dammit, you, stay in the back of your cell, you, come with me!" The guard shouted out.

He grabbed me by my collar and started dragging me behind him. I saw the jangle of his keys behind him and tried to reach for them.

He turned around and threw me against Orion's cell bars, where Orion grabbed onto my foot to hold me back. He unintentionally was doing a good job of holding onto me and ripping further into my knee. I screamed out in pain and the guard turned his head, going over to Orion.

Orion boldly threw a punch through the cell bars and knocked him backward, to where I held onto the keys on his belt until they ripped off of the loop and laid in my hands.

I slid them into Orion's cell before the guard could recuperate and he quickly grabbed me again, punched Orion in the face, knocked him backward, and dragged me out of the cell block.

Our plan was working so far, it was only a matter of time until he knew his keys were missing, but Orion nodded as I was taken away, so he knew what to do.

It was weird, but I had to trust the guy we all once hated.
