As Ruby and Sky came to a equal agreement with Providia about her future residence, the two made their way up the collapsed shaft and into the light, showing off what they had built on the Earth since Quake's defeat. Providia covered her eyes while brandishing her eyes to the sun, observing the fairly primitive city.
"Wow... very impressive. And, you made all of this? As far as I know, our world was given to us, but you have made this?" Providia asked Sky.
"I have to give credit where it's due, this is impressive, even for beings like yourselves. You cannot control strands as we can, can you?" Providia asked Ruby. She shamefully shook her head, rubbing the back of her head with her hand playfully.
"Sometimes I forget that people such as yourself exist... tell me, what is it like when you reach a problem you cannot solve with your physical prowess alone?" Providia continued to ask Ruby. She was no longer worried about the integration of the two communities, and instead only worried about how Ruby didn't have the same capabilities as her.
"Let's forget that... is there anything you're good at? Have any special talents at all?" Ruby asked Providia, quickly changing the topic.
Gabrielle interrupted, lightly bouncing over to Ruby while hold up her right hand.
"I'm able to repair biological discrepancies within a person with the same strands you know Providia to use, or at least infer she uses," Gabrielle said with a light smile.
"What about her people? Any special talents?" Ruby asked, acknowledging Gabrielle while trying to refocus on the real point of her questions.
"Some of them are capable of supernatural abilities, as Belle can wield ice, many others can wield a multitude of things. My world was never built, as I've already explained. It was given to us, and we adapted to it," She said, Providia stood with her arms crossed, barely showing any emotion at all. She was quiet, timid, and static about everything she heard.
"That's more of what I wanted to hear. So, we'll be able to give your people jobs and expect them to fit into a society. Any other problems Sky and I should know about?" Ruby asked one last time. Instead of letting Providia answer, Sky butted in.
"Yes, there is. In The First Trial, there were these creatures called Rubeki... they still existed in this city until recently, but Providia wasn't able to track them or predict their path. That means this path right here being open could be enough for them to start flooding in. This means that we need to close the opening... but what if we lock somebody inside?" Sky thought. Carl stayed relatively quiet and out of the way for most of the conversation, but chipped in as soon as he could.
"What if we block it for the time being and let in people in droves instead of at once? It's helpful to make sure we can see who's coming in, isn't it?" Carl asked. Sky and Ruby both agreed to the idea, but Providia had a rebuttal, leaning against the wall while observing her city.
"I guess we could do that. I'm just worried about the Rubeki finding another way out. Keep in mind, they've been missing, for a while," Providia said. She analyzed her hand before turning her head back up toward Sky.
"I'm surprised they didn't all die, to be honest, but I just don't know what's keeping them going at this rate," She added.
"Me neither, all we can do is work this out in any way we can. So, should we take turns on this? Make sure the hole is constantly being observed? That way, we can integrate smoothly. It sounds most logical, at the very least," Sky said. The three agreed, turning their heads back to the city.
"So, any small steps no matter in the long run. Let's start now, I'll start getting everybody, Ruby can start alerting her people, and Sky can guard the hole with Gabrielle and his friends," Providia said. She turned, walking toward the city, as Ruby did the same.
Short Chapter today! I apologize for the length, but the conclusion will be longer.
