"So, you're the girl they found living out in the wilderness? How long were you out there for?" An officer clad in purple and red robes had been tracing the room with light footsteps, letting the girl sitting in the middle explain herself.
"About nine months now," She confidently said. The officer nodded, looking to his partner outside, and held up his fingers to symbolize the amount of time she had been out there.
"Now, is there a reason why you decided to be out there? Like it better? Runaway criminal? You can be honest with us, it'll do you much better than lying," The officer commented next. The girl crossed her arms, shaking her head at the responses predetermined for her.
"I just was living out there. Don't overcomplicate it," She confessed.
"And a name we can give you?" The officer asked. She looked at him, realizing that it would probably do her good to hide her identity.
"Shinigami Asterio," Faith said confidently. By hiding her identity, she could avoid the presence in the city as the runaway girl named Faith, just in case Sky had sent guards looking for her.
During the nine months of living in the wilderness, Faith had been developing her abilities and focusing her efforts on becoming stronger for herself, relying on herself when needed. The progress was going good, so far, and pulled her into Shadow's Onset by accident; the city in which Stark, Solstice, Zenith, and Clementine teased to her nine months prior to being caught.
"An Asterio? I've never heard of one called Shinigami... well, you Asterios are scary anyway, so I guess that's why the name checks out so well. Why are you here? Especially with that Sky guy running Alicas? You should go see your family members, shouldn't you?" The officer asked Faith. She turned her head from the table, resting it on her arms as much as she could due to the handcuffs that restrained her.
"I have no interest in meeting with Sky Asterio," Faith said flatly.
"Well, that's a shame. We'll conduct this investigation, and you'll be free to proceed once we're done," The officer said. He walked out of the room, leaving Faith alone with the handcuffs, the table, and a glass of water on the table. She snapped the handcuffs in half near the chain and stretched out her arms next.
She had completely rid herself of all dependence on Sky Asterio. Unlike most of Sky's enemies, Faith became one who didn't want to kill him but didn't want to be near him. She didn't need his strength, and standing beside him only reminded her of her dead mother. She believed that Sky was the one to blame for Illya's death.
With all of her blame pinpointed onto one person, Faith's assembly into a strong warrior who could be stronger than her father to give a chance at a future for anybody she decided to help became her top priority. Faith was now able to successfully wield most of the Last Names' Abilities, such as the ice on her wrist, the circle on her right hand, and the Gaze of Wrath in her left eye. Unfortunately, they all had their downsides.
With the Gaze of Wrath that Faith had barely been able to use, it couldn't turn off and remained dull. However, covering it with the bandage that laid on her face and allowing it to charge increased its potency, but not for anywhere near as long as Sky could use it. Faith could teleport mostly anywhere with the Eternia Glyph on her right hand, but only if her heart rate was below a certain number.
Almost all of Faith's abilities were developed in a very average way, leading her to be a jack-of-all-trades who put her opponents in danger before she faced them.
After a long while, the officer returned to the room, declaring that nothing had been found, and unleashed Faith into the city. She placed her hands into her pockets as the officers realized she had broken out of the handcuffs and continued down the street away from the police station.
Shadow's Onset barely had any bright colors, and was filled with dull browns, boring grays, and solid blacks. Faith looked all around for the shiniest building to get on top of to discover more about her surroundings and how to get out of Shadows Onset, but unfortunately ran into the one person who would turn the tide of her life.
"What's your name?" The man said in front of her.
Wearing a white t-shirt and black pants tightened around his muscular legs, Finlis Vega stood with his hands in his pocket while looking down at Faith. She didn't feel any fear from his presence, so assumed the same position as him to speak with him.
"Shinigami Asterio," she repeated. He nodded, looking back and forth, then leaning in close to her.
"You're certain its not Faith Asterio? Because I'm led to believe it is," Finny told her. She kept a straight face and dull eyes, refusing to show any surprise at the sight of her real name being spoken by a man she didn't know.
"Pretty sure I would know my own name," Faith retaliated, attempting to walk away from Finny before he got smart. His hand rested on her shirt, grabbing onto a thick part and looking at her from a head-length above her own.
"Do you know where I might find this 'Faith Asterio' person that I'm looking for?" Finny asked Faith once more. The two and their short exchange had gathered some people around them, nervously watching as Faith shrugged.
"Not entirely sure, I wish you luck on your endeavors though. What's your name?" Faith tried to find out the identity of the person who knew her, but he only shook his head and began to walk right past her, almost as seamlessly as he bumped into her.
"I don't give my name out to liars," He confessed, disappearing around the corner. Faith was confused. If he had known she was lying, why did he leave? She knew that she had to escape from Shadows Onset as soon as possible.
