Dani's Corruption

The pain was blinding now.

I couldn't even think straight.

I had a million thoughts shooting through my head and I couldn't focus on anything, but the System Corruption was rapidly increasing.

[System Alert! Corruption at 80%]

Hold on Dani... keep holding... awaken it! Turn your System Corrupt! Do it...

[System Alert! Corruption at 79%]

It's going down?!

"Okay Dani, that's enough, you're not hooked up to the machine yet. Just give me a minute to connect this stuff." Eo said. Alatus sprung into action, but I wouldn't let them touch me.

As soon as Eo put her hand by me, it automatically redirected and was pushed away from me.

I clenched my teeth even more as the surge of pain shot from the left side of my head, down toward my heart.

I gripped my temples as I bit down on the towel.

I need that push... I need more... I need more Corruption.

There was an itch that I couldn't find.

There was motivation I needed to find.

I need it.

I need something.

I don't know what I need. I need it. I need everything. I need to be Corrupt.

In a desperate attempt to attain what I needed, my eyes opened again and I looked through the text in my left eye, just as Ellie described Sky to have, and slowly rose my left hand toward it.

Now or never Dani... come on... it's just an eye... don't be scared of it...

"Hey, Eo, is this girl supposed to be acting this weird? We should stop her, right?" Alatus asked as my fingers dug into my left eye socket.

I whimpered as I bit down on the towel and I grabbed my eye. The slimy ball fidgeted in my skull and I felt the pain hit me even more. This hurts! This hurts so bad!

[System Alert! Corruption at 90%]

COME ON!

In one quick movement, I grabbed the eyeball and squeezed it as I pulled it out of my head.

"What the fuck?!" Alatus shouted out.

"COME ON!" I said with a muffled voice through the towel.

[System Alert! Corruption at 95%]

CORRUPT DAMMIT!

CORRUPT SO I CAN KILL ILLYA!

I WANT TO KILL HER! I WANT TO END HER! I WANT TO STOP THIS!

"Eo, this can't go on!" Alatus yelled out.

"DON'T TOUCH ME BITCH!" I screamed out. Alatus was pushed back toward the wall with an abnormal force and was stunned out of pure shock as she hit it.

[System Alert! Corruption at 99%]

PUSH! COME ON! CORRUPT YOU FUCKING SYSTEM!

"Dani! What rule do you want to break?!" Eo shouted out.

"I WANT TO BE WORTH SOMETHING! I WANT TO PROVE ZEAL WRONG! I WILL KILL ILLYA ASTERIO!" I screamed through the towel.

[SYSTEM ALERT! YOUR SYSTEM HAS BECOME CORRUPT]

[System Corruption: Level One]

"Hey, who opened a window?" Lia asked.

Strands started circling my position at a fast speed, enough to knock over anything that wasn't secured to a pole or the ground.

"What the hell is this?" Alatus asked again.

"It should be over soon... there we go... Dani, are you still here? Can you understand me?" Eo asked me. She turned my head toward her and the towel fell out of my mouth, soaking with blood and torn to shreds with how hard I was clenching it.

"I... Corrupted... right? I'm Corrupt?" I asked her quietly as I started to regain the feeling in my body.

"Yes... how do you feel?" Eo asked me. I nodded before falling to the floor, what I assumed to be unconsciousness took over my body.

"There's no damn way you Corrupted your System, Dani."

I opened my eyes to the sound of a familiar voice to see the white hair blowing in the wind. Wherever I was, it looked... creepy.

It was dark and infinite. There was shallow water underneath my bare feet and when I looked ahead to the white-haired Deity that healed me and caused this whole mess, I felt a bout of hatred swallow me.

"You're Illya... you're the girl I'm going to kill," I said while walking toward her.

"I'm sure you will. Just so you're aware, I know what you're trying to do. Awakening as a Deity will not put you and me on the same playing field. You have no abilities nor foundation... you will die if you stand against me. Are you sure you don't want to just stay on Earth and live out a prosperous life while Sky and I conquer this galaxy?" That bitch asked me.

"You won't take him from me. You won't take him from us. You will lose. I'm going to kill you, whether you surrender now, or continue going. I will murder you." I told Illya.

"It's good to know you're still the simple bitch who can't come up with her own personality. Stealing Sky's personality, stealing his Corruption, stealing your friend's ideas. Are you even your own person, Dani?" Illya asked me.

"I'm a culmination of my environment. I hardly think that matters if my only goal is to make you bleed." I told her.

"You sure are adamant... let's see how you like being trapped in Sky's Mindspace. Maybe you'll learn a thing or two." Illya said, before vanishing into a burst of dust.

I was left in this infinite black lake and looked all around me. There was nothing... for about five minutes.

"Hello?" I heard from behind me. I turned to look at the white-haired boy that stood around twenty feet away from me.

"My name is Shike... I'm lost, where are we?" He asked me.

"Shike...? How did you get here?" I asked him while processing his odd name.

"I'm not sure... the last thing that happened to me is that this White Stone grew on me... does that have something to do with it?" He replied to my question with yet another question.

Why does he have a White Stone as well? I don't remember his name on the roster... unless..

"That would... then, it's nice to meet you, Shike. I'm not sure why I'm here either... but my name is Dani. Dani Asterio." I told him.

"Asterio... like Sky Asterio?" He asked me again.
