Buusu, Mitra, and Myth VS Pestilence

-13 Minutes Until Providence's Arrival-

Myth's Ability, the one to use electricity, and Mitra's ability, to create illusions, would work great with my ability to speed up to the speed of light. We combined really well, and Pestilence was going to feel it.

I first started by using my ability once, to show him what our team was about. Once I charged in, Myth shocked Pestilence and froze him in place. Since Pestilence used a bow, keeping his distance was going to be a problem, so we need him up close.

I wanted to go for one of my fast thrusts, but instead of doing that, I jumped over his body at the last possible second while he was stuck with electricity flowing through his body, and slammed my sword down his back. I split him open and exposed a strange-looking core right under his heart. Unless that was his heart? It looked pretty small...

Mitra shot out his go-to illusion, I bunch of water at Pestilence, and he moved his body again. Unfortunately, Myth closed the distance and struck him with more electricity, which made him pause in place while looking at me with contempt.

"Sorry, we're just better," I told him. As soon as I pulled my katana back to cut his head off, he shot a green dart at Myth. Myth was stunned back and coughed a lot before Pestilence shot an arrow at Mitra. It missed, but he created distance again and smiled.

"Myth, are you okay?!" I asked him, but Myth nodded.

"I read about you guys. You can inflict curses onto people. He probably gave me a sickness... Ali or Gabrielle should be able to fix it. Don't worry about me!" Myth said to me while coughing.

"I'm going to worry about you! Well, as long as we can fix it. Come on, we can't stop here!" I yelled out. Pestilence prepared his bow and he was about to use more arrows to shoot at us as he did before. The nine-shot, I'll refer to it as. Except, the nine-shot was a lot harder to dodge when Myth couldn't move as he could before.

The nine-shot came down just as Myth escaped the last arrow, but he aimed his bow at us again!

I used my ability to defuse every single arrow from heading toward us, and while I was in the use of the ability, I grabbed two and threw them back at Pestilence with frightening speed. He caught the arrows with no effort and threw them to his side. They clattered on the ground and he primed his bow once more.

What the hell is that ability?! He can shoot fast, and accurately, and he had an infinite supply of arrows!

I repositioned once more and ran until both Mitra and Myth were together, so, worst-case scenario, Mitra could protect him. How was I supposed to beat him by myself?

Let's see... he had a certain period of time between drawing his bow, so I should be able to use that!

Darting forward, I dodged his first arrow and got close to him. I pulled my katana back again to hit him with a strong strike, but he dodged at the absolute last second. I decided to forget about preserving my ability and used it again to catch up with him, landing a nasty laceration across his chest and meeting down into his stomach. He was stunned for a moment and yet again I could see that core within his body. I just want to hit that!

I ran forward again and continued slashing. He wasn't able to draw his bow and was too focused on moving backward to attack. I looked at Mitra for a split second while pushing him back and keeping him busy.

Mitra got close to Pestilence and we could now begin a group attack. Pestilence backstepped right into Mitra's shield and was stuck. He looked back and turned his head while Mitra shot him one of his smiles. Pestilence unhinged his jaw like a snake and went to bite Mitra in the head, but luckily, Myth absorbed the hit with his shoulder.

I cut into Pestilence's neck, disregarding the core inside of him, and I decapitated him. We all came to a close and slowed down, Myth and Mitra falling on the ground, and looked toward Pestilence's lifeless body.

"He has a core inside of him, don't think he's dead just yet!" I said to everybody. I ran toward Pestilence again and just as I jumped toward him, his head came back in a puff of smoke and he unhinged his jaw again.

I moved my flexible body and put both of my feet against his horizontally-spread jaw. He tried closing down, but the muscles in my legs were far too strong for that.

I cut his jaw so my feet were able to move again and retreated. So, he did have a close-range attack... he was just waiting for a guaranteed hit.

"Myth, are you alright?!" I yelled back at him, and he nodded.

"He can't inflict his curse twice, it's only once. I can get healed by somebody, so don't worry about it." Myth told me.

"Are you sure?! I can cover you if you need it!" I shouted out to him.

"I don't figure that everybody will make it out of this alive, so you'll have to live with my death and just continue. But, if you don't want that to happen, then kill Pestilence before he can hurt me again!" Myth said to me. I turned my head with newfound motivation, but Pestilence was charging up another nine-shot attack, pointed right at Myth.

"Let's see how brave you are truly, Buusu Achamo." Pestilence said. I nodded and stood upright, holding my katana tilted toward Pestilence and taking a deep breath.

The way my ability worked involved swift, one-directional movements. I wasn't exactly sure if I could take all of the arrows, as the world continues at the same speed it usually does when I go fast. If I missed one arrow, it could fatally wound Myth. What can I do? Not trying would be stupid of me... but can I do it?!

Just as he let the bowstring back to shoot it at me, the arrows left and were on their way. I primed my ability, ready to use it, but was blocked by somebody with long, brown hair, and piercing red eyes.
