--Dani's Perspective--
As soon as we could, Illya told us to all leave to help Sky in his fight against Cole while Illya sat with Fico. With Carl, Shike, Belle, Alexia, Boo, Charlie, Alex, Griff, Jeff, Lia, Lily, Ren, Tavian, Ellie, Noboki, Moon, Dante, Alatus, and Fudo, we all ran as close as we could to the fight we heard in the distance.
The large group of people with us meant that we couldn't sneak around, but we weren't trying to. We decided to use the interconnected pathways between the buildings to get to the fight and help from there based on our location.
We ran across the hallways together, looking down at the city to see where the fight was going on. It was weird to see people gathered around the battlefield for the first time when I had only seen them running from it.
"I can use my ability if I need to. Does anybody see him yet?!" Boo shouted out.
"THERE!" Noboki shouted out, pointing through the window at a fight in the distance.
"Faith... she's injured! We have to get in there!" Lia shouted out.
"How the hell do we get out of this building?!" Carl shouted out, scanning the area for answers.
I looked at the windows. I could jump out of that and reinforce my legs with strands... but what about everybody else?
If need be, I can get there as quickly as possible and have everybody join me afterward.
Yeah, that'll be my plan.
"Guys, I'm going to jump down from here and get to the fight. Will you be okay on your own?" I asked them. They all nodded and I charged backward to jump through the window.
"Who's going to jump from the window?" We heard at the end of the hallway.
Unrelated to our group stood a man at the end of the hallway. He had green, messy hair, and bright blue eyes, and wore a black shirt that was ripped in several places.
"Oh don't tell me, there are more of you?" Dante asked with an annoyed tone.
"Only a little, I promise." Another voice came up from behind us.
This time around, a confident man with a small bit of facial hair, a scar across his eye, and only wearing a scarf on his upper body with black pants walked on the opposite side of the hallway.
"Wow, the party doesn't stop getting lamer. Who are you guys?" Carl asked.
"My name is Austin, this is Amy, and that over there is Zeka. And you lot are?" He asked us.
Who was Amy supposed to be...? Who was he looking at? Austin was weird, he pointed to somebody as if they were standing right next to him.
"A ton of names that won't matter. What are you doing here? Do you want to fight, or something?" I asked them.
I still had The Goddess of Wrath... I could still fight.
"No thanks, it would be over before it started anyway. What we're worried about is Cole. We were told he was somewhere in here and needed help. Let's make a deal, shall we? You tell us where Cole is, and we won't kill you all." Zeka said. That small child seemed very confident... I'm sure it wasn't for no reason.
Well, there's nothing we can really do here. Two opponents such as these would be far too troublesome... and probably be an impossible fight.
"Unfortunately, we don't know his exact location. The last I saw him, he was in a jail cell. We're actually looking for survivors in these buildings right now, and we'll let you know if we come across him." I said, lying to them as naturally as possible.
"Goddess of Wrath, right? It was exciting watching you fight on The Charred Isle. Tell me, what was it like while you were under the control of that entity? Was it scary?" Austin asked me. He pulled a notepad out from his back pocket and I started to slowly walk backward.
"Um... Not sure..." I answered slightly, avoiding eye contact with him.
Just looking at this guy was making me nervous... how in the hell do we get out of this situation?
"Oh, Austin, over there!" Zeka shouted out, pointing through the windows at the fight going on that we could see.
"Oh, there he is!" Lily shouted out, trying to get everybody to believe the lie that we didn't know.
"Thanks, guys, we'll be leaving now. The rooftop is this way." Austin said. Zeka walked past all of us, and we followed close behind.
"What are you rats chasing us for? Do you need something?" Both Austin and Zeka stopped on the steps to look back at us.
"If we're not fighting right now, then there's no problem, right? We want to watch the fight as well." I told them.
"Sure." Zeka said flatly, walking all the way upstairs.
As soon as he did, I breached into the low sun in the sky and looked over the building originally blocking the view, to see Sky and Cole standing across from each other, and looking at each other with a dangerous glare.
It looked like... Sky was in trouble...
"Alright, ready to go in?" Zeka asked Austin. He nodded and as they were about to jump, something weird happened.
I felt chills shoot through my body like a wave just crashed over me. I couldn't even move my head they were so intense...
"What the hell... what is that...?" Austin asked. I couldn't imagine a confident person like him to be nervously asking a question... but it almost highlighted how irregular it was.
