Help

Sun was up, when Clementine climbed the stairs and slowly approached Wolfe. She shook him up so he would wake up. Sudden shake made the man alert and his sudden aggressive reaction caused Clementine to fall back on the floor of the stable.

"Eeeeeee...", the girl produced the sound.

"Sorry. I am so sorry", he apologized for the sudden reaction that made the girl fall on the ground who was dusting her clothes. Clementine didn't say anything for a moment looking at the man before saying.

"Lee asked me to come wake you up and tell you that Shawn is looking for you". Just as she said her piece, she ran off. Wolfe stretched his hands then slowly rose from the mound of hay and slowly descended from the top. He stopped near the door where he saw a bucket of water. He started washing his face with the water first, and when he was about to drink the water from it, a voice stopped him.

"Don't drink that", looking back he saw a young girl coming to the barn. "That is for the animals. You can have drinking water up there", the girl added.

"Is this not drinkable?", Wolfe asked.

"Well, it is but for horses", the girl replied.

Wolfe put the bucket down and looked at the girl again before going out. The girl looked at him with wide eyes and said suddenly from behind. "I am Beth Greene".

Wolfe looked at Beth, waited a bit before saying. "Wolfe". And went away as Beth also went further inside the barn.

Looking outside, he saw Clementine with a middle-aged lady, who seemed to be a good company to be in. A little far away, he saw a man repairing his vehicle. Lee came to him saying Shawn asked him to come go near the fence he was repairing in the back that was damaged before following Hershel who was going in the barn.

He went to the back of the house and saw Shawn working on the post which was partially broken. Shawn noticed him approaching, and said, "Morning. Guess you had a good sleep".

Wolfe stopped near him, nodding while looking at a boy sitting on the driving seat of the compact tractor playing with the steering wheel. Shawn also noticed him and said, "Careful boy. Don't you start the tractor by mistake". The boy slowed down a little.

"Thanks for helping me yesterday and letting me stay here. I really don't remember anything. Just my name".

"It's okay. The explosion must have had some effect on you".

"So, how can I help?", Wolfe asked after noticing that he didn't mind him staying here.

"Hmm... can you help me with that board. We have to remove this post and put another one. This one's damaged".

"Alright". Wolfe saw some evenly cut boards and picked up one of them bringing it to Shawn.

Shawn picked the board but stopped. "Oh. We'd need something to remove this post first. Go to the house and find my sister, ask for something to remove this post".

"Okay. Be in a minute", Shawn nodded and left to the front of the house. Reaching outside the house front, Wolfe remembers he doesn't know the girl's name. "Excuse me. Hello. Anyone inside?", he calls out if anyone would hear him inside the house.

"Yes. Who?", the girl he met earlier in the barn came outside the door without noticing who it was that's calling. "Oh... you... what is it?", she asks with a smile on her face.

"Yes. Your brother... Shawn asked if you could give something to remove the post. It's damaged and he said to replace it".

She started wondering, looking up in the sky while blabbering, "Something to remove the post... Wait a minute". She went inside and brought back a shovel. Handing it to Wolfe. She said, "you didn't have breakfast right? catch", throwing an apple. Wolfe caught it, observing.

"It's an apple", she said. Wolfe stared at her accusingly for a second before saying, "I just don't remember about myself. Doesn't mean I became an idiot. I know it's an apple".

"Sorry. I didn't mean it like that". Beth said as he was about to bite the apple.

Suddenly a scream came from the back of the house. It was Shawn's voice. Beth and Shawn looked at each other in surprise. Not wasting a second, Wolfe ran towards the back as fast as he could not knowing that he had dropped the apple. As he rushed to the place of the scream he saw Shawn pinned under a tractor and a pair of walkers trying to reach him from the other side of the fence. At the same moment, the boy, who had accidentally driven the tractor onto Shawn, was grabbed by a third walker, who tries to pull him to the other side of the fence. On the side he sees Lee, watching in confusion. He rushes forward, and quickly instructs Lee to go save the kid while he runs towards Shawn whose arm had almost grabbed by a walker who was attempting to take a bite. With the shovel in his right hand, he swung with full force, striking the head of the walker in circular motion. The impact made the walker leave Shawn's arm for a moment. Still, the walker started groaning while trying to grab Shawn again. Lee had reached the tractor and started struggling to free the boy while the boy screamed. Shawn was almost near the fence and his leg was struck on the wheel of the tractor. There was no other option but to drive the tractor back.

"Wolfe. My leg. My leg", Shawn screamed.

"It's not my current concern", said Wolfe striking at the walkers with the shovel just not too had to kill them. But suddenly he sees Lee striking the head of a walker with a wrench breaking it's skull. The walker stopped moving and fell on the ground.

"Fuck it", saying this, Wolfe swung the shovel with full power and struck the walker. Breaking its skull. He again hit the walker that was behind the first one from above, making him fall down due to force on its back but still moving and groaning. Lee hurriedly picked up the crying boy and put him down on the ground who started running towards his father who was running towards them frighteningly. He grabbed his son, looked at Shawn, and ran off. Lee saw Shawn still groaning and screaming in pain and quickly sits on the tracker starting the engine and drives it backwards releasing the leg.

A second of relief was endangered when the fallen walker almost crosses the fence crawling itself, with its flesh being torn apart by the thorny wire still not stopping him. Seeing the face, Wolfe recognizes the man, Chet. He didn't look sane at all with his eyes dead. As both Shawn and Wolfe were stunned by the revelation, a gunshot came from behind them, blowing off Chet's face. The blood got splashed on their clothes. Looking back, the one who shot Chet was Hershel.

"Shawn, are you okay? Oh god, son. Your leg.", Hershel said worryingly looking at Shawn's bloodied leg.

Without looking at Wolfe, he said, "Help me take my son to the house. We have to treat his leg before any more loss of blood".

Wolfe followed the instruction and with the help of Lee on the other side picked Shawn on his side giving him his shoulder for support. While Hershel started walking fast towards his house. As they were about to reach, they saw the father of the boy approaching them apologetically.

"Kenny, how is your boy?", Lee asked, while Wolfe looked at Lee strangely. 'His son was alright. The one injured is here by your side. Idiot', he thought, while peeking at Hershel's back who stared at Kenny angrily.

"His son is safe. While my son was almost killed by those sick bastards. You ran away scared leaving my son in that condition". Hershel was really angry at the man named Kenny. Any father who saw someone run off leaving his son for the dead would be angry.

"Sorry... I... I...", Kenny couldn't say anything in his defense.

"You have overstayed your stay. I want you gone by the next time I come out from my house", Hershel told in a resenting tone before going ahead instructing them to follow him quickly.

"Lee. My offer still stands", Kenny says before leaving as Lee and Wolfe go ahead with groaning Shawn.

"Offer?", Wolfe asks.

"He offered me a ride to Macon". Lee said to which Wolfe didn't comment.

As they entered the house they saw two ladies, a middle-aged and another was Beth coming with worrying face, "Shawn. What happened?", Beth asked while looking at Wolfe.

"His leg came under truck's wheel", Wolfe answered.

Hershel's voice came from inside a room. "Hurry. Bring him inside", he said.

Wolfe and Lee took Shawn inside the room where Hershel and another man were preparing the medicines and bandages. They put him on the bed and stood aside while Hershel started tearing the jeans with a scissor and soon the bloodied skin showed up. The leg was messed up. The skin had been torn by the wheel to the point where Wolfe could see the bone.

"We should take him to a hospital", the lady beside Beth advised to which Beth nodded. But Lee interfered. "If they came to the farm, it means they could be anywhere. Hospitals are the most probable place more of these things will be".

Hershel stayed silent while Beth asked, "What things?", to which Wolfe replied, "haven't you listened to the news recently?". Beth goes silent.

"I want a little peace in here. Everyone leave the room for now. I'll call you if I need". Hershel said annoyingly not being able to concentrate on the leg to which everyone started leaving.

Outside, Lee looked at Wolfe and said, "Hey, if you want, you can come with us you know. It would be safe with more people".

"So you are leaving. It means". Wolfe replied. To which Lee nodded.

"Yes, I have someone in Macon. I will go and see if they are okay. So?", he asserted him to reply.

"I don't remember anything. I think it would be better if I stay here until I get back my memories", Wolfe said adding further, "Also, they might need some help here. I am indebted to Shawn".

"Alright, then good luck", Lee said bringing up his hand for shake which Wolfe accepted and he just noticed the little girl that was hiding behind Lee this whole time. Wolfe simply patted the little girl's head without saying anything.

Soon, Wolfe saw a family car leaving the farm. Lee and the man, Kenny were sitting in the front whereas Clementine and the boy were on the back with the lady. Both kids saw Wolfe and started waving hands. Wolfe didn't wave back. And soon the images of the people disappeared along with the car.

"That was rude", a voice came from behind which followed to Beth who looked at Wolfe for a few seconds and then went inside.

Wolfe didn't say anything and sat on the stairs for a while before suddenly standing up and walking to the back of the house. He started moving bodies to a side and use shovel to dig out the damaged post from earlier. 'Gotta reinforce this fence', he thought while looking around the farm looking for any more of those walkers before getting back to work.
