After a long and awkward moment of silence, Veronica suddenly raised her hand to hit me on the chest while she pouted her lips.

She then said with a huff, "This isn't the time to be joking. You should be able to see how serious this is."

I had an awkward look on my face at first, but then I took a deep breath to calm myself down and say, "I promise that I'm not joking. This was what the one who taught me about my power told me."

Though I really wasn't sure if I should trust that shady qilin…

Neither of us looked at each other as there were blushes that were on our faces.

After a long silence, Veronica asked in a soft voice that was still filled with doubt, "Are you sure about this?"

I just gave a small nod before looking away again.
