Now sitting across from me is the director of the Mayo Clinic Department of Neurosurgery, John Ansen, one of the top neurosurgeons in the United States.
The black and white MRI images on the electronic screen looked as terrifying as the devil to Li Gaoyang; he dared not look directly at them. Right now, his head was buzzing with noise.
His wife was waiting outside, still unaware of what had happened during the physical exam.
"Dr. John Ansen, I'm ready, go ahead,"
John Ansen, holding an electronic pen, thought for a moment and then said, "Mr. Li Gaoyang, I'm sorry, but as a doctor, I must remain objective. If you have any adverse reactions during this explanation of your illness, please signal me immediately to stop, even if it's just a gesture."
"Thank you! Go ahead, I can take it," Li Gaoyang said with a determined expression.
