My Element Is Heal?

There was a huge commotion in my classroom as several students got up out of their chair stunned. Some stumbled backward clumsily, some almost fell sideways. Each and every one of them scrambled against each other, fighting their way through to get closer to the source of their amazement.

"Oh my God! That's... That's!"

"Amazing he'd actually awaken such a..."

"Well, what else did you expect from the son of THAT family?"

As if they were possessed by a powerful force, all of them stood up and stared at the shining glow illuminating at the front of the class, their jaws were wide open and their eyes were gawking at the light.

The light was scarlet in color, with a tinge of orange. It shone brilliantly, directly across the chest of the person it'd illuminated from. The glow exuded an aura of might and blazing authority, even from here, I could feel the heat exerted by the light.

I scanned around the room and noticed that there were two or three students still seated in their seats. Obviously, they were as interested in the scene as I am. I was not the type to be startled by things like this. Furthermore, even if my curiosity was piqued a little more, I'd still wouldn't have joined the fray as it would've been too much of a hassle.

Eventually, the homeroom teacher managed to break the trance and settled the students back into their seats.

As the students composed themselves, the fiery glow slowly faded from the person in front of the class. As it completely dimmed, a shard-like object appeared on the hand of the person, it was about the size of a whiteboard marker.

The person holding it was a young man with wavy golden locks and had quite the dashing facial features. Such looks could make any young girls go wild in their fantasies and men drowning in bitter envy.

He strode elegantly towards the teacher and courteously handed over the shard to him. Afterward, he politely bowed to the teacher and once again elegantly strode towards his seat.

I cringed throughout the whole scene, and the allured fawning of the girls in the background made the whole thing even more unbearable.

With a light cough, the teacher smiled proudly while announcing the results of the young man.

"Zhu Huo's awakened element is... the Red Phoenix element! It is categorized under the fire affinity and it is ranked 9th within it!"

The students who had managed to compose themselves just moments ago began to gasp in amazement once again. I've noticed that one of the few people who had remained seated with me, was now somewhat shaken.

I myself had become somewhat more attentive as well. That goes to say that ranked 9th in an elemental affinity was no joke. In this world of magic, there are several different kinds of elemental affinities, within those affinities consists of exactly a hundred different kind of elements. Each of these elements was arranged in order, from weakest to strongest, with weakest being in the hundredth place and strongest in the first.

Furthermore, elemental affinities also had their own ranks. Although the rankings of the affinities were always changing, the fire affinity was, without a doubt, considered a very high ranked affinity in the group. That's because it was a very rare affinity that a mage could awaken into as their starting affinity.

As I continue pondering about the magical system of the world, the voice of my teacher suddenly interrupted my train of thoughts.

"To think that on the first day of school, I would get such a surprise, truly spectacular!"

"As expected of the magnificent son of the prestigious household of the Zhu family! Renowned worldwide for their lineage of expert fire elemental mages!"

After hearing the surname 'Zhu' my stomach churned. A slight look of disdained masked my face, and I gripped my hand into a fist tightly.

I remained like so throughout the rest of the session, as students were picked one by one for their affinity awakening, all of them failed in comparison to the Fire: Red Phoenix.

"Water affinity! Waterfall - ranked 76!" Cried the teacher, he didn't even bother mentioning their names.

"Earth affinity! Sand - ranked 81!"

"Lightning affinity! Spark - ranked 72!"

"Fire affinity! Molten Lava - ranked 56!"

"Water affinity! Siren - ranked 57!"

"Ice affinity! Arctic Wind - ranked 32!"

As the teacher called out the last element, which was the person with the ice affinity, he smiled slightly and nodded approvingly. Afterward, he continued to call out to more people to come forward and awaken their element. Eventually, it was my turn to get up.

"The last person, Huang Fen, please come up and awaken your element!"

I made my way steadily towards the teacher in front of the classroom. He handed me the crystal shard and stepped aside to give me space to concentrate.

As I grasped the crystal in my palm, I could feel its rough and cool surfaces, as well as a warm sensation stemming from my arm, spreading throughout my entire body. The warmth engulfed me and I was bathed in the sensation as my mind transmigrated to an alternate reality.

In this reality, everything looks blurry. It was as if someone had grabbed an eraser and rubbed off a portion of what I could see. No matter where I turn to look at, it always felt like something was rubbed off from my sight.

As time passed, more and more of what I could see in this reality was rubbed off, until eventually, all I could see was a bright yellow light.

The light was not majestic, it was merely a tiny speck of light in this dark space. However, because it was a dark space, this light's shine was nothing but radiant.

Tempted to preserve this light from disappearing within my vision, I extended my arms and reached out to it. As I grasped it, my consciousness was flooded by a brilliant warmth and before I knew it, I was back in the classroom.

The first thing I saw was the gaping look of my peers, and the surprised expression my teacher gave me. Seeing that the teacher hasn't yet spoken, I took this opportunity to stare at the clock.

"Only 10 seconds had passed, it'd surely felt longer in there..." I murmured.

I look back at my teacher who was wiping his forehead with a handkerchief. He coughed lightly and began to speak.

"Light affinity!" He announced.

As he said that, the students all began to chatter feverishly.

"Light affinity!? Isn't that one of the two most powerful affinity a person can acquire!?"

"Right! Right! Not only is it one of the two most powerful affinity a person can get, but I also heard that unlike any other affinities, the light affinity only have ELEVEN elements in it."

"Does that mean the dark affinity also only have 11 elements?"

"No dumbass! Were you never taught at grade school!? Light affinity is unique as it only has 11 elements... but because of that, anything above rank 8 in the light affinity is worth dogshit!"

"Ah! That's right, their rank 11 is basically a rank 100 in any other affinities and their rank 2 is our rank 10, rank 3 is our rank 20, rank 4 is our 30 and..."

As the students chatter amongst themselves, the teacher sweat even more profusely. Waiting for the students to finally settle down, he coughed lightly yet again.

"Light affinity! Heal..." The teacher announced.

There was a slight pause in his wordings, and for a moment there, I could see a look of disappointment on his face. The disappointment then became apparent for everyone to see.

He heaved a gloomy sigh.

"Rank 11..." He continued normally, although this time there was a hint of disdain. "Light affinity, heal element, ranked 11... trash!"

The room was silent for a brief moment until eventually, there were chuckles in the corners of the room as well as soft giggling, and then a loud burst of laughter. There was even sneering and ridicule mix within it, and what's worst was that all of that resentment was focus onto a single person in the class...

That person was me.

I felt my heart torn into shreds and my blood boiling furiously.

"... My element is Heal?" I murmured.

I found myself murmuring the same lines over and over again due to anger. I didn't want to accept it, but the reality was harsh, it was never fair. My dream of becoming a successful mage ended before it started, who would have thought that I would awaken such a liable element?

The laughter song even louder into my ears, and even though I was angry, I could understand where they were coming from. Although the light affinity was rare, having the lowest ranking element is basically dogshit. Furthermore, the element I obtained was 'Heal' which means that my role as a mage was a healer, which were looked down upon by others in this world.

I could only contemplate in regret in my own unfortunate result. However, I could not let something like this drag me down from my goals! Somehow, I will make this work... I don't believe my element was completely worthless as its ranking says!

I apologized for my poor grammar and use of tenses. I am still an amateur so I do hope everyone reading Supreme Supporter would continue to enjoy it. I promise I will continue to improve my writing and that I'll try my best to have all chapters with 2000+ words ^_^

Thank you for reading!

PS. I guess the first 5 chapters were pretty bad and with little word counts as well...
