Supreme Ruler: Control Is Greater Than Power!

My life? Many people see me as the most fortunate person existing. Maybe it was due to the power I wield, or what I had in my possession. But I found it hilarious; how I, myself, find my life worthless, every and anything I cared about getting burned in the flames of my ever-flowing energy. I don't mean it literally, more like… a metaphor, I guess. The world always opposed every and anything I stood for. I'm sure if you stood against me you would end up victorious. Anyway, off with my sorrows. To make everything interesting, I'll have to show you a clearer view of the world I live in.  Here it is; the story I so much wanted to share with you… all of you… *** In Archon, the union of a demon and angel was considered sacrilege to all its inhabitants—Apart from this glaring hatred for the union, any offspring from the union would die a miserable death. Stiles, a Nephalem, birthed from the union of a demon and angel had no choice but to face this challenge head-on, his parent's life becoming the payment for his survival. Stiles, filled with anger, tried to end his life but failed with every attempt.  Embarking on a journey to end his miserable life, he came in contact with a fortress that will change his life, turning him from a depressed boy into a Ruler—one that will reign over the land of Archon. ______________ Good day, ladies/gentlemen.  I've not done much writing, but I hope you would check my work out and give feedback. A/N: 100 power stones= 1 chapter. 10 Golden Tickets= 1 chapter. Thanks~ ----------- The cover photo is not mine, so if you are the artist or you know the artist, kindly communicate. Thanks~

Professions.

[Hello~

This chapter serves as an info dump, so I'd be uploading another chapter very soon, please bear patience.

Thanks~]

So far, I've journeyed into a fortress to the north of Alcelia, known as Kynburgh. I believe it's time I give a rundown on my world. I'm sure you are curious.

I did not feel the need to do this. heh heh, since I'm in the library, it won't hurt to revise some basic things. But remember, I'm not good at teaching.

Here we go…

The world I reside in is known as "Archon". Every substantial record I came by also called it "The World Of Rulers"—a strange name indeed; not like I care.

Archon has five known continents with more than ten known islands. As you already know, Alcelia is one of the five known continents of Archon—I don't think I need to dive into the matters of the other four known continents now.

Heh heh, the islands are more of a small piece of land surrounded by a large body of water. Though when I say small, I'm referring to its size compared to the "five known continents".

Also, Archon houses numerous races, ranging from dragons, Phoenix, elves, demons, humans, angels, and other creatures; both mythical and ordinary.

The most fascinating thing about Archon won't be its races, but the term "Profession and Ability"— ordinary sounding indeed.

"Profession", as the word may sound, refers to an individual occupation—you can also say "paid occupation" since some scholars claim, "without pay, it won't be a profession."

This ideology simply means, as a professional in any field, you would have to gain something from your work, either strength, money, influence, materials, and many more.

Let's ignore those old geezers and rather focus on the matters at hand. In Archon, profession is divided into two classes: main profession and sub-profession.

Confusing? Don't blame me, I warned you about my level when it came to explaining. After all, I'm not a teacher.

Anyway, to make things understandable, I'll use certain examples. For instance, "teaching". Teaching is a sub-profession of Education, which is a main profession. Other sub-profession in education are mainly taken by jobs related to Education. A school bursar, principal, and other educational staff would fall under the Education sub-profession.

For another example, we have blacksmithing as a main profession, then swordsmith, gunsmith, and many more as sub-professions. Blacksmithing normally refers to weapon making, though some records described them as individuals who worked with unrefined metals to bring out a desired product.

For the last example of the main and sub-profession, I'll talk of the Healer. Healer is a main profession with nurse, surgeon, veterinary, and many more as sub-profession.

According to the records, this method of naming professions was meted out to bring about the advancement of civilization. The method of categorizing professions made it easy for individuals to level up, grow stronger, and introduce more ideas that brought the world to its current state.

Subconsciously, I picked up a brown-cover book from the shelf, fiddling with its papers.

I believe this should be satisfying—I mean, there is still much to explore, so why spoil the fun by saying everything in one go?

Now, let's talk about the ranking system. Heh heh. It's another system that I deemed weird when I first read about it. The records always emphasized that the rankings were not the final test of power, it was just a superficial term to offer balance to Archon. With the rankings, Archon became a world with less strife and violence—Though I wonder, if the rankings made the world better, then how bad was it back then?

The book about the rankings was one of the oldest books, yet I could still see history books riddled with wars between tribes, kingdoms, empires, nations, and some even between continents.

How laughable—What is the essence of such a world?; a world where imbalance has been replaced with chaos.

Not like I care, I just need to achieve my goals.

The rankings begin from 9 to 1. Though some books made other claims, I'd love to go with the proven and ongoing version.

9, 8, and 7 are known as Low Ranks. Then 6, 5, and 4 are known as Middle Ranks, while 3, 2, and 1 are known as High Ranks.

Individuals in Archon are placed under this ranking system. There are also corresponding methods and conditions for ranks to be meted out. Though not everyone is interested in joining the rankings system. But by the supreme law of Archon, to ensure the safety of the world, all life forms must enter the Book Of Rankings.

If one with mythical powers were to be discovered, attempting to not enter his power level into the Book Of Rankings, death was the only path. The so-called balance keepers in lores would judge the individual. Heh heh, now I wonder why I believed that stuff. Is this what they call maturity?; the period when you start seeing your old beliefs as nonsensical.

Anyway, the point is, a novice Healer would be a Rank 9 Healer. He/she could be addressed by their sub-profession, for instance, Rank 9 Surgeon.

There is also a situation where you might not be in the mood to call their Profession, so a Low Ranker or Level 9 Ranker would also suffice to address the individual.

The main key to Professions is the path you want to follow in life, also known as passion, and also your Ability.

Someone that does not have a passion for singing, won't be able to perform at their peak even with great talent. Also… someone that does not have a good voice, except with the help of a mythical item, would find it hard to prosper in the singing profession.

So educational facilities had made sure to include "occupational studies" in their curriculum.

Wait! What do I want to become?

I never really had any big thoughts on this occupation stuff back then. I just took everything that came my way. But if I should reason deeply, I do have an idea of the path I'd wish to follow.

"Lost in thought?" I heard Alexia's charming voice, awakening me from my imagination.

"Is it bad?" I lampooned, returning the brown-cover book to the shelf. "Anyway, I've read through all the important archives, can I go to this test room?"

I politely requested, not wanting her to add to my workload. Maybe I'm sick or something, why can't I just do what I want? Seems I'm still chained by these emotions.

"Let's go. But remember, if you haven't memorized all these archives, you will be in for a more strict learning process."

Her warning tone was real, but I found it rather funny. "... Alright, ma'am!"

Hello.

Sorry for the info dump. I just felt the need to release this much in one go.

Thanks for your understanding ~
