6.Human Society

The human captors increased their pace after that night .They moved as fast as they could .It appeared as though they were trying to outrun their shame.

From the conversations with the humans, slowly but surely, the white wolf learned the human language. With his powerful memory and great intellect ,it was quite easy for him. Although he was not able to speak out the words clearly due to extreme physical differences , he was able to understand the language perfectly. It was more precise than the demonic wolves' means of communication. He also began understanding many of the gestures that the humans used to communicate more effectively. From what he could gather, these human captors were a small group of bandits called the Money-Seeking bandits. He did not understand what bandit was but he understood the general meaning .

They made their living capturing all manner of creatures between heaven and earth to sell as slaves. They raided other humans for they wealth and they had no guiding moral principles at all .They did everything they needed to do in order to get something they called 'gold' .The white wolf did not know what value this gold had to these bandits but it seemed to be their primary goal .They did everything in the pursuit of gold .Although their identity as bandits made them despised among their fellow humans, the money-seeking bandits had a leader who had a noble rank in a powerful human kingdom and by leveraging his position, the money-seeking bandits became untouchable and almost above human laws.

On the sixtieth day of their travel, the group finally left the forest and entered the plains. On the plains, many humans could be seen going about their work.

Some were plowing their fields while others entered the forest from which the money-seeking bandits had just come.

The other humans looked at the money-seeking bandits with disdain while others looked on with envy at the beasts captured by the bandits.

The bandits stood out from the other humans just by the way they dressed. The other humans were wearing clothes made of sophisticated materials and some even put on clothes made of beast skins, these clothes were still of a higher quality than those of the bandits. The white wolf surmised that the beast skins differed in quality due to the difference in the processes of manufacturing. He also came to a horrifying understanding that these beast skins had been ripped off the bodies of demonic beasts like him .He began wandering if this was to be his fate .

The group moved onto better roads as they moved closer to human civilizations. They passed towns and military checkpoints and the more the white wolf saw, the more he knew that the fate of beasts in human society was not ideal for the survival of the pack.

Humans had come up with all sorts of creative ways to utilize the bodies of beasts. They used their bodies to make items such as belts, clothes, shoes, armor, and even some preferred feasting on beast corpses. The first time he had seen a human feasting on beast fleah in a small restaurant on the raodside ,the white wolf had vomited itself into unconsciousness .When it woke up ,it was shivering with horror .

Demonic beasts ate each other but in truth ,this was ver rare .Demonic beasts were sentient beings and they preferred eating the normal animals that raomed the forest to eating other demonic beasts .

The white wolf had always known that the powerful rule the weak but humans took this concept to a whole other level.

The group soon reached the gates of a gigantic city. The walls of the city amazed even the beasts who were used to living in environments where giants walked the earth and made their bed in trees and mountains of indescribable sizes.

At the gates, the bandits were not stopped by the guards who instead opened the gates wide for them to pass.

Inside the city, the white wolf saw the largest number of humans it had come across so far. The humans moved in all directions past each other making the scene every chaotic. They spoke in many different languages but thankfully, the language the white wolf had learned was the dominant language.

The wagon was pulled through the city and soon, they reached their final destination, a large blue building with a large sign above the entrance. The white wolf did not know what the characters meant but he knew that it was nothing good for the pack.
