Synopsis

It was supposed to be another morning… yet here I am. Standing on the edge of a balcony, I looked at the massive Billboard with a face that anyone could recognize—Tony Stark aka Ironman from Marvel. "Just how did this happen?" I questioned myself once again, wondering how I ended up reincarnated in the world of Marvel. "I mean the last memory of mine was going to sleep peacefully after completing another run of DMC V"

Chapter 1Reincarnation

"Man, I hope they add V as a playable character throughout the game, like they did with Vergil," Alex mumbled as he stretched and yawned after completing another run of DMC V.

The DMC series was his favorite. "Hmm, though I wonder when the next part will come," he mumbled, closing the PC as he went to sleep.

And as he drifted to sleep, he failed to notice the juice can near his computer table suddenly fall off, landing on the switchboard and creating a spark that quickly turned into a big fire. Alex died in his sleep from suffocation, without ever knowing he was dead.

But that wasn't the end of him.

His soul jolted out from his body, shooting into the sky, crossing through what seemed like space and cosmic fields, until it arrived in another world. It entered the body of a kid who looked like a heavy drug user, worn and broken.

Alex was reincarnated — and all it took was one peaceful night's sleep... and death.

The next day, Alex woke up and groaned, "Damn, why does my body hurt so much?" He tried to sit up — and then screamed when he caught sight of his hands.

"What the fuck?!" he muttered as he stared at his scrawny body. "Where's my previous body that I spent years at the gym for?" He cried a little inside.

His hair was long, unkempt, and greasy. "What the fuck," he muttered again as he tried to stand up — but his legs gave out, and he fell face-first onto the floor.

"Argh! My chest, my legs—" he hissed in pain, feeling his body ache from even minor movements.

What's this? he thought, panicking. Was I kidnapped? Drugged? Why does my body feel so dead, like it's been rotting?

He stumbled into what looked like a dirty room, with peeling walls and cigarette burns everywhere. His mind raced with horrifying thoughts that scared him even more.

And just as he was starting to lose it, a sharp pain hit his head, like a hammer crashing down. Memories that didn't belong to him came flooding in — memories of a different Alex, a kid who had grown up on the streets, surrounded by drug addicts and violence.

After half an hour of pure confusion, Alex finally stopped moving, panting heavily.

"Fuck, fuck," he muttered as he stared at the mirror in front of him. The reflection showed a punk-looking kid, full of piercings and as skinny as walking bones.

"It's real," he whispered, touching his face as if to make sure it wasn't a dream. He pulled back the dirty curtain and looked out at the neighborhood.

"Damn... It's freaking fucking real!" he shouted, his heart pounding. The air smelled of smoke and rust. The buildings were run-down and graffiti-covered — this wasn't some random dream.

Alex panicked again, wondering if it is really a dream and then after another hour when nothing happened, he finally accepted it, that he has reborn in another world.

"I've already crossed over… and not just into any anime or game world," he muttered, feeling his throat dry. "I'm in Marvel...?"

He shook his head in disbelief. "But shouldn't I have reincarnated into Devil May Cry? That was the last thing I played before I died... so how the hell did I end up in Marvel?"

Suddenly—

{ Host is now calm. }

[ Welcome, Host, to the Devil May Cry System. ]

[ Analyzing host's body... ]

[ Finding a suitable character match for the host body... ]

[ Character V has been chosen as the host's foundation. ]

[ The Devil May Cry System is now active. ]

[ The guide has been sent to assist the host in understanding the system. ]

[ System message over. ]

"System? Is this the cheat all Isekai protagonists get?" Alex mumbled as he sat on the edge of the bed, still in shock.

"Umm... System?" he called out, but no one replied.

"Is it not a sentient system?" he muttered, feeling awkward. Then he instinctively said, "Status screen."

A blue window popped up right in front of his face:

[ Name: Alex Lockwood ]

[ Abilities: Supreme Demon Lineage, Demonic Contracts ]

[ Contracted Demons: None ]

[ Equipment: Devil Book, Silver Devil Cane ]

[ Inventory: System Guide, Newbie Gift Pack ]

[ System Shop ]

Alex stared at the screen, his heart thumping. Holy shit. I really got a cheat.

Controlling his racing heart, Alex took out the guide. He pressed on the book icon in his inventory, and it popped into his hand — an ancient-looking book with only six pages.

Alex opened it and began to read, learning everything about the system. As he fully read it, the book crumbled into dust, as if its job was done.

Alex didn't mind. The guide was as simple as it could get.

First, it explained his abilities — his Supreme Demon Lineage and how he could form Demonic Contracts.

Second, the shop was introduced. Through the system shop, he could buy equipment, abilities, and even demons to summon.

Third, it explained the System Gold Coins — the currency he could earn by defeating powerful foes.

Fourth, the guide mentioned the Newbie Gift Pack he had gotten at the start.

He could use it right now.

And lastly, there was a message he had almost missed — the one about his foundation base.

It said he could create his own exclusive Character, combining different characters powers into it. Though he got the base for free, the rest — like skills, upgrades, and demon contracts — he would need to build himself using the System Shop.

Everything else depended on his efforts... and efforst alone.

" I hope, the system shop could help me atleast" Alex mumbled as he pressed on it as new messge begin to apper.

[ Host has opened the Newbie Gift Pack ]

[ Host has gained the following rewards: ]

Gained: Greater Demon Contract

Gained: 1000 System Gold Coins

Gained: Random Character Ability Ticket

Alex's eyes widened as the messages popped up one after another in front of him.

"Holy cow!," he muttered, feeling his hands itch with excitement. A Greater Demon Contract already? Isn't that, like, way above normal starting rewards?!

And he got more gold coins too, doubling his total.

But what really caught his attention was the Random Character Ability Ticket. His heart started racing again. Does that mean... I can get some OP ability from DMC world?!
