Reynald was completely at a loss for words as he quickly snapped back to reality. He couldn't believe the words that had just come out of his mother's mouth.
To think the so-called secret they had sacrificed so much for and for so long was not even accessible to them. The fact that the item was well-protected even without their input made his blood boil and his mid spiral.
Why? Just why did they have to endure so much all for an item that meant nothing to them? If it wasn't for this secret being entrusted to their family, they wouldn't be in their current predicament, and there was no way his mother didn't know this.
Just as Reynald was about to continue speaking, his mother silenced him with a glare.
