Numbers didn't mean anything in front of absolute strength.
Nux's very existence was a good example of that. He had taken out 20,000 mercenaries on his own. Yes, taking him as a standard was extremely wrong as well, but Nux was sure that even if Vyriana had fought instead of him, she would have taken down at least 1,000 of those mercenaries.
