A Millionaire?

Standing on the twenty-four seven busy floor, the most crowed of the Mystic Guild building floor, Eric's eyes moved around at a rapid pace as he continued searching through the crowd, before stopping, just having found his target.

Acting, Eric followed, quickly mixing up with the crowd as he followed the group of clamoring burly men with axes covered in blood, while they argued about an unknown topic Eric Didn't care to listen intently to.

But then seeing the word.

"Exchange"

Boldly written, leading to a long stretched corridor that could fit two armored tanks moving at a time through it, Eric's eyes gleamed, before detaching himself from the group of burly men.

He had earlier tried to ask for the for where to exchange slain monster corpse, but no one bothered to reply to him, either full of complaints about how bad their day already was  or dismissed him for his young appearance with a cold look. If there was one thing he had been quick to take notice of, it was that everyone seemed to dearly mind their business here.

...

A few moments later.

Eric stood, dumbly listening to the banter and clamoring all around him.

"You call this a place where the strong did business?"

" Exchange My Foot! "

It would have been better to call this place a market square instead.

Not wrong in the slightest.

" You bastard!"

"You think you can scam this daddy!?"

"This is clearly sold for 1 million, and you dare to price it down to 700,000?"

" If this daddy ever steps foot into this stall, let me die by heavenly lightning!"

The middle-aged man was arguing with a business person dressed in a suit, who quickly let out a flattering smile, as he held the man's hand from taking back the goods. In another word, the dead battered corpse of a big wolf, with solid muscle ripping through it's hardened skin.

"Sir, please calm down"

"I really can't offer more than 850. That's my limit."

The suit-dressed middle-aged man spoke with a smile, still holding the other cursing man that was earlier spewing spite everywhere.

"You think this daddy was joking when he said he would never step foot here ever again? "

" There are many fish in the water willing to offer double your price, so why should I waste time with you?"

" Besides you aren't that dumb to see this is a corporal steel wolf, which is incredibly rare.  Only the gods know how much those rich folks will pay for this to forge a good bullet-proofed suit"

" Do you think this daddy would dare sell it, if I wasn't indeed of urgent money?"

" Talkless for this small price"

" Calm down sir, we are all gentlemen"

" Sit so we can discuss business."

There were many of such scenes and arguments going on the large floor of the Mystic Guild building.

The funniest part, was that they were all grown up men, shouting like women. Still quite amused by this unbelievable site.

...

Walking towards the receptionist,

"Hi, where can I sell my hunts?"

"Welcome, exactly here."

" What kind of monster corpse do you want to sell?"

Eric didn't reply, as he kept staring at her while glancing around the hall.

But then, seemingly understanding what Eric meant.

"Oh... there are some companies that prefer fresh goods, so they do send out their people to purchase materials and monster corpses. And instead of buying it from the Mystic Guild at a fixed price, they prefer to gamble and buy it directly from the source at a lower price."

"And as for the reason those Mystics keep selling them at a lower price most times is because it's a win-win situation for both of them.

"Cause they also get to sell it at a higher price, especially if the monster corpse  or certain useful parts cut from them are rare.

Eric nodded, it seemed quite plausible.

Sadly, he had no energy to banter or argue with anyone.

So he still chose to sell it to the Mystic Guild instead.

Unhurried, Eric poured out the corpses of each monster he slayed. With the corpse of at least 3 mid  wild monsters, excluding the low lower-level ones.

While doing this, Eric instantly  attracted alot of attention. And many gulped while staring in amazement.

"what the fork!"

"Don't tell me-mid wild monsters are now easy to kill these days! "

" What mid wild monster, can't you see how many lower level ones are there?"

"Wow! Could he have been fortunate enough to stubble upon the remnant spoils of a high-ranked mystic? "

" I've never hunted so many low level monsters in my life, talk less of mid level ones"

" He probably stole kills from another squad"

" Yes, I also agree with you bro! "

" That's simply an impossible feat, 8 low l wild monsters? "

" Kiss my ass! "

They all kept on making different guesses and comments while gawking at this sight

Thankfully, Eric was having none of it, as he touched his nose that was already covered to hide his Identity. Leaving none at the back to see his teen face.

Still not giving a care about being the center of attention.

"Can you please?"

Hearing Eric half completed sentence, the receptionist quickly came to her senses and regained her calm.

Meanwhile, the middle-aged men in suits glinted, but before they could make their moves to banter prices with him, the receptionist gave them a glare.

Knowing fully well that they had wanted to steal the meat from the Tigres mouth, they revealed embarrassed smiles and subtly stepped back to maintain what was left of their composure.

"Sir, how about 600,000 for each mid- wild  monster?" The receptionist said.

While Eric, not taking her word for it, all in the same that she was a representative of the Mystic Guild, kept standing without moving an inch, and not saying a word despite  the overwhelming shock and surprise as he realized he had been scammed when he sold the white rabbit Monster.

The receptionist, meanwhile, upon taking Eric's silence for it, thought that he wasn't satisfied and decided to add more.

"700"

"700 is  our limit..."

She then frowned, thinking Eric wanted her to increase the price again as she got no response.

"Seven hundred thousand Federation Dollars for the corpse of a middle Wild Monster."

" Did I just become a millionaire 8 days after Awakening?"

 "What a windfall"

Still in a state of shock calculating how much he had made, before the receptionist woke him from his trance.

 "Sir!?"

"Oh, sorry about that"

"You said $700,000 right?" Eric apologized, upon noticing the way she looked at him like he was a greedy bastard.

But the receptionist seemed to have misunderstood him again.

"It's not in my power to handle this transaction"

" I'll have to call the head manager" she made a wanting to ask if he did not mind gesture.

"It's OK" Eric was filled with joy as he replied.

3 minutes later, a bald fatty came out of the back door with smiles on his face as he invited Eric to follow him.

Though a bit lost and stunned by the sudden invite, feeling his courage boosted by the countless gaze on him, Incase if he was silenced. Followed.

So have you guys roasted corn before?
