Chapter 1, Werewolves, Vampires and Deli Girls

There I was, backed into a corner by three of the biggest, snarliest dogs I had ever seen, in the dark store room at the end of the worst shift of my life. Terrified and alone I thoughtI was going to die when a deep voice called out, "Take my hand." I squinted past the slavering beasts but could see no one. "Look up" the voice came again, this time tinged with a growl of annoyance. Sweeping my gaze upwards I spotted a hand dangling from the shadows. What's a girl to do? Trust to the wall crawling stranger or be torn apart? Easy decision, I swung my arm up and jumped for the safety above me. Now I'm a big girl but the mystery spiderman pulled me easily into his chest, the dogs snapping at my heels, and whispering a gruff hang on, began pulling us quickly across the stock room roof to the possible safety of the shop floor. How did I get myself into this situation, well, for that you have to go back to the start of what was supposed to be just a normal day.
