52 Slap me next time

The tint of sadness in his eyes makes her wonder why he's like that. She wants to ask him why. Then again, he won't answer her. This man is a blatant liar. What is he getting by lying on her face when she knows that it's him?

"Don't you hate it?" He asks her with a solemn gaze. "Seeing and feeling things that you shouldn't be seeing and feeling?"

"I hate it," Wakana replies with a straightforward voice. "I don't think that there's anyone in the world who would like to go through other people's nightmares unless they are a saint or a masochist. But I am tired of fighting it. I want to be able to choose when and how I see someone's nightmare. You are my mentor. Will you teach me how to control it?"

It's not like that. The worst part about her situation is that it can't be controlled in her current state. Nevertheless, wanting to take control is her decision. He should explain this to her later. Choi Minho stands up. "Ms Okuyama is coming."

Wakana notices that the woman seems exhausted. Still, there's a polite smile on her face. Ms Okyuyama comes to them. "I am sorry that I can't be much help today. My son is not feeling well."

"Ms Okyuama, please don't be sorry." Choi Minho smiles at her. "We are sorry for coming here unannounced. If you don't mind, can we visit tomorrow morning?"

"I am taking my son to the hospital for a checkup tomorrow morning." Ms Okuyama exhales. "It might take all day."

"Please call me when you are free." He opens his wallet and takes out his business card. "This is my business card."

Ms Okuyama takes the card and looks at the name. A special investigator? She gives him a nod. "I apologize again for not being able to be much help today."

"You were more than enough help," He replies to her with a light tone.

Wakana has been observing the interaction closely. She can't help but notice that he's shielding her from Ms Okuyama. It's not like he's being secretive about it. When she feels an intense stare, she looks toward the stairs. It's the same boy. Okuyama Mikio steps behind the wall when their gazes meet. She frowns. There's something wrong with that boy. If she touches him once, she can find out what's wrong with him.

"Miss Nakashima." She hears Choi Minho's alluring voice. "Miss Nakashima, can you hear me?"

Though she wants to respond to him, she feels an urgency to climb the stairs and follow that boy. He has something to tell her. She ignores the man beside her and takes a step toward the stairs.

"Wakana." He grasps her gloved hand. "It's time to leave."

There's something commanding in his soft but stern voice. She could tell that he wouldn't hear no. He pulls her along with him. Only after they pass the iron gate, he lets go of her hand.

"You are too weak, Miss Nakashima."

She furrows her brows, still unable to process his words. He turns around and looks at her with a dazzling smile.

"Do you want a kiss or a slap?"

That question is enough to pull her out of the daze. "None."

"A slap?" Minho places his fingers on her lips and leans close to her until his lips are only two inches away from hers. "Or a kiss? Which one can shock you awake?"

She slowly blinks her eyes when he kisses his finger on her lips. A certain weight subsides from her head. Her body feels light. With a scream, she pushes him away. "Are you insane?"

"Maybe." Choi Minho gazes at her with a sly smile. His sharp ears could hear the sound of her nervous heartbeats. A redness rushes from the bridge of her nose to the tips of her ears, making him want to tease her more. This shade of red on her face is his new favourite colour.

Wanting to tease her more, he takes a step closer and bends his head toward her. When he looks into her amber eyes, he notices the dilation in her pupils. He pinches his lips together and turns his head to the right, swallowing his saliva. Walking through hell is easier than not kissing her when she's like that. "I am sorry for crossing a line. I was trying to wake you up from a compulsion."

"How could you kiss me like that?," Wakana yells at him. Her heart is going crazy. Does he want to kill her by giving her a heart attack?

"Erm…" Minho runs his fingers through his hair. Was that a kiss? "Our lips didn't touch."

The sensation of having his hot fingers on his lips are still lingering there like a brand. He was so close that she could feel his breath on her face. Even if their lips didn't touch, it felt stronger than a kiss. Wakana scowls hard at him "Slap me next time."

"I would rather die than slap you," Minho mumbles, still not meeting her furious gaze. Perhaps, he's been too excited. He needs to distract her.

"Your mental strength is too weak."

"Are you saying that I am mentally too weak to resist you?" Wakana glares at him. "I won't get seduced by you. I love my boyfriend a lot. I will never betray him."

Choi Minho gives her a mild smile. He's been aware of her feelings toward Minami Sei for a long time. If she's happy with that man, he has no complaint. If she hadn't joined the supernatural investigation agency, he would have never appeared before her. Someone like him can't be greedy. "Good to know."

"Personal space." She doesn't notice the sadness that flickers away in a blink. Wakana outstretches her arms. "Keep a distance from me. I am already someone else's woman. You should not try to seduce me again."

Choi Minho steps toward her with an amused look in his eyes. She keeps saying that he's trying to seduce her, but he hasn't done anything other than some teasing. "Miss Nakashima, what did you see inside?"
