87 Chapter 86 - A New Alliance

---Later That Day---

Spending most of the day from then on tending to the injured and sick, the majority of people were already rehomed by nightfall. Setting them in comfortable shelters meant for housing people in natural disasters, I made sure they went to bed with full stomachs in comfortable beds. As for the orphans, my family told me they should stay at HQ in some of the rooms they had made. Telling me it was so they could sleep peacefully, I was sold before they even started.

"So you are me?", Eri (Little Sister) asked her counterpart.

"Mm!", she replied with a big smile, "Where did you get that fluffy Tiger?"

"He gave it too me!", Eri (Little Sister) boasted pointing to me.

"Do you think...he could give me a stuffed animal too?", she asked nervously.

"Yeah...", the other children asked wanting one too.

"Of course!!", Eri (Little Sister) giggled, "He is very nice and will get us yummy snacks too!"

"How yummy!?", the other kids asked.

"The bestest snacks ever!!", Eri (Little Sister) replied with a big smile.

"Okay!", the kids said.

Hearing their discussion while I was chatting with the Alliance, I waited for them to come over to ask. Leading them over to me, both Eri's pulled on my cap to get my attention. Telling the Alliance I needed to step away, I handed the phone to Melissa and knelt down to them.

"Everybody wants a stuffed animal, and wants something to eat.", Eri (Little Sister) told me.

"Are we allowed to ask..?", the children asked meekly.

"Of course you are, I won't get mad about that. If you are hungry let's get you all something to eat. Maybe graham crackers and milk, or maybe some fruit?", I suggest, "As for the stuffed animal, I will make you what ever animal you want."

"Really!", Eri (Rescued) said as her eyes lit up.

"Of course, you tell me what you want and I will make sure you have it before bedtime.", I told them.

"Are you going to stay close by?", a few of them asked looking at me with fear, "We...we don't want to be alone."

"I will stay with you all night if you want. No scary monsters will come for you with me around.", I told them softly, "Now lets get you all something to eat."

Lifting them off the ground with my psychic powers, the children were a little scared at first but soon started laughing as we went to the cafeteria. Giving me smiles as I walked away, my family was very happy I was making the children happy. Situations like this reminded them of why they wanted to be with me, and made them even more sure they chose the right man.

"I see he is prioritizing the children.", Nick (Marvel-616) stated with a smile.

"I hope you aren't saying that is a problem.", Natasha remarked.

"No, I was just thinking I don't know many Heroes that would have just walked out of an important meeting for a group of kids.", he replied.

"I would say he made the right decision.", Batman (New Earth) told him, "If more Heroes were like him, I don't think we'd have so many issues."

"I can agree.", Rumi (Rescued) added, "Just in the few hours I have been here, I can tell you this world is far more peaceful than ours ever was."

"Agreed...", Ryuko (Rescued) agreed feeling much better now that her Dragon Form had been fully healed by me.

"I wasn't complaining motherfuckers!", Nick (Marvel-616) spat, "I agree with you, his approach may be different from what I would do but there is no doubt it works. Crime on our world is down, Hydra and AIM came to the negotiation table because they thought I'd call him in. They saw the broadcast, and called me within five minutes."

"Yeah...I wanted to discuss that broadcast.", Batman (Earth 15) stated, "Just what are you thinking by broadcasting that?"

"I want to know too, that was a dumb motherfucking decision.", Nick (Earth-65) added, "If I was there I would be kicking your-"

"And you using him to try to teach that bimbo so manners was any better?", Nick (Earth-616) spat with a smirk, "Motherfucker that is how you get them killed! Clark snapped his fingers, and wiped out a world of invaders. Every single person in this alliance is aware of his morals, I saw the reports you sent out. That woman better be thanking God he didn't snap her out of existence over trying to hit that child."

"Both of you shut up.", Carol snapped, "This is why we never reinstated Nick as Head of S.H.I.E.L.D, both of you have tried to use him for what you needed. Both of you need to shut up, and focus on the matter at hand."

"Thank you...", Jean sighed, "So the Alliance of Reed's has received new requests for admittance?"

"Yes.", Reed (Marvel-616) answered, "Several hundred worlds have made contact to join us after seeing the footage."

"Same on our side.", Clark (Earth 22) stated, "Justice Leagues have been reaching out to join the fight as well."

"I do want to bring something up.", Carol stated, "It's about what he did to the Infinity Stones...how did he manage to survive that and erased them with a snap of his fingers? All the research we had on the Stones states he should have died."

"I am curious as well.", Hela agreed, "That power shapes and bends the laws of the universe to the wielders will. To be able to survive that...well it's unheard of."

"Is there something about him we don't know?", Amora inquired.

"Not that we are aware of.", Ochaco and Toga stated.

"Didn't he say in his fight that only the One Above All can make him bend the knee?", Wonder Woman (Earth 15) asked, "What exactly is his connection to this being?"

"One Above All and The Presence are one in the same.", a silky smooth voice told them.

"You bloody bastard, where the hell have you been!", Constantine (Former Injustice) asked.

"It's nice to see you too Johnny Boy.", Lucifer jabbed.

"Don't you start with me Luci.", he retorted.

"You do realize you are telling the Son of the All Mighty what to do, right?", Lucifer laughed, "You have big pair John Boy."

"Ugh...what do you want.", Constantine (New Earth) sighed.

"Well you are curious about him, right?", Lucifer chuckled.

"Yes.", Carol answered, "With all the power, he could be-"

"Tsk tsk tsk.", Lucifer sighed, "Young Lady, don't try to imply he should fit some sort of box you want him too. He isn't like you other Heroes, he is good but has no issue putting people in their place. He is kind, but won't hesitate to kill to protect those in need. He is wise, but he still makes mistake and owns up to them. I can't tell you everything though I can tell you he has seen both the good and the bad in humanity. You are correct, at any point in time he could get bored of being the good guy and completely go rouge. There isn't a damn thing any of you could do to stop him, you have to live with that understanding."

"When you phrase it like that, it's like you are making him out to be a threat!", she remarked.

"...this is why I don't socialize with politicians...", Lucifer sighed, "I am telling you he could very easily be a threat, but he chooses not too. Tell me, would a cruel man have prioritized a crying child over your stupid meeting? Would a villainous person go out of his way to protect people who are obviously beneath him? You need to understand it from this point of view, all his interactions with you are him holding everything back. He is at the level where if he doesn't hold back just a sigh could freeze your planet and blow out the Sun. Clark was born a God among Men, but has strived to always be a Man. At any point in his career who could have taken his world over in a night, and had his way with any woman he desired but that never happened. Both of the Nick's and you need to get that through your thick heads before you do something stupid, and end up dead...I don't need you three showing up in Hell. I have enough assholes down here."

"He's right, stop treating Clark like he is going to do something to hurt people!", Ochaco shouted, "Clark isn't like that!!"

"Yeah, he cares about people and tries to meet them where they are at!!", Toga huffed, "I had nothing to offer him yet he did everything he could to protect me as a child. My parents tossed me away like I was a worthless use of space!! No one want to give me the time of day to help me because they thought I was a monster. He took the time to get to know me, and saved me from becoming a villain."

"When Nekron started wiping our home worlds out he could have just protected his world, but he actively tried to save people from other worlds!", Kara shouted, "He never once asked for anything from them, everything he did came without strings attached. Even now he still patrols those universes making sure all of them stay safe!! Clark works hard making sure all of you are safe, and for you too-"

"Alright!", the three said realizing they were the bad guys in this situation, "We are sorry, usually men like him have a hidden agenda."

"He does, he wants to have a world where people can smile and our kids can be happy!", Maxima snapped, "That has been his goal all this time. I have watched him work to improve this world so that everyone can enjoy the same things he wants. As a Queen I made my decision to follow his dream because it is one that I can stand by with pride."

"Alright, we don't need the preaching.", they sighed, "We get it."

"Anyways...", Lucifer chuckled, "All will be revealed in a few days."

"You mean he is hiding something?", Natasha asked.

"No, he doesn't know either.", Lucifer laughed, "The Old Man left him in the dark about it as a test."

"What do you-"

"Sorry, that's all I had time for today. I have a date with some very stunning women and several bottles of wine.", Lucifer stated before disconnecting.

Leaving them wondering what the secret was, everyone was now curious what would come to light. Pondering that for a few minutes, the Alliance of Reed's went over the current situation across the Multiverse. While that was going on, I was in the kitchen with the kids getting them squared away. Getting them cups of cold milk and some graham crackers, I got them settled in and put on some cartoons for them to watch. Going around one by one to ask what animal they wanted, I got a list together and then with a snap of my finger made them.

Passing them out the children thanked me, and quickly held onto them tightly. Using the design for Eri's defense Tiger, each one would protect them so long as they were nearby. On top of that I made them extra fluffy so they could hug them for comfort. After having their snack I took them to the room the women had set up for them. Tucking them in, I pulled out a story book to read them so they would go to sleep.

Using my Ring, I generated a similar tune that I felt when I entered Magic Veins to soothe them as well. Reading the story to them, I emitted a soft, dull light from my body to act as a nightlight for them. Eri (Sister) sat on my lap, and was sound asleep in a few minutes of me reading to them. Halfway through the book all the children were fast asleep having happy dreams that I gave them. Finishing the book, I sat there silently enjoying the sounds the Ring made.

Peeking in on us, all of my family was gushing over how cute this looked. To anyone who didn't know any better, this would have looked like I was their father...especially the children that had wriggled up close to me and were holding my cape tightly. Watching me gentle brush the children's hair, they all got the warm and fuzzies.

"They are so cute...", Sif said looking at the children, "It makes me want some of my own too..."

"Get in line!", Harley whispered, "Some of us have been trying for a while now!"

"Oh!", Sif stated, "I didn't-"

"Don't listen to her, it happens when it happens.", Kara told her.

"I want children with him.", Amora said confidentially, "It has to be him, I am sure of it. This feeling in my stomach and chest...it's what I have always wanted."

"Agreed.", Hela added, "This is the feeling I have watched others have that I thought I would never feel. Being alone on a cold, dead world...it's lonely. After watching everyone else have this sort of happiness it's-"

"Wonderful.", Sif, Amora, and Hela stated with smiles.

"I do admit, it makes me want a family too.", Natasha agreed.

"Agreed.", Jean told them.

"So you are all on the bandwagon?", Selena purred, "You all joining us in this journey?"

"Yes!", they all said with determination.

"That's the spirit!", Iris stated, "Welcome to the Sisterhood."

"Who decided that name?", Natasha asked.

"Don't judge me!", Harley stated.

"Haha!", the women laughed softly.

"Will you all keep it down, they are trying to sleep.", I scolded the women telepathically.

"Sorry...", they said closing the door.

With that, the night passed quietly.

---Next Day---

Enrolling the children in school was a very quick process. Leaving them with the staff, Eri (Sister) promised the children that I would show up the moment they called for me. Accepting that the kids relaxed, and went to class.

---Fortress of Solitude---

Returning home to shower, I found several of my family members leaving for school. Telling me to come to lunch today, I promised to be there promptly. Kissing me goodbye, they left for the day leaving me to relax for a bit. Walking into the shower I had expected things to be pretty quiet, but just as I got the water on I heard a few people come in to join me. One of them ran up, and jumped on my back as kissed my neck.

"Heya!", Harley laughed with a smile.

"I thought you'd all be headed down to the Agency.", I chuckled.

"Of course not, our big, strong man stayed up all night comforting those poor orphans.", Selena replied, "It was very sweet of you to comfort them...like a father."

"I didn't mind it at all.", I stated, "They needed someone to be there, and I was happy to do it."

"Mmm, we know dear but it doesn't make it any less attractive. A powerful man like you staying up to make sure they could sleep...you can blame us for getting a little worked up.", Ivy said kissing me, "You know, all of us really want kids. Seeing you take such wonderful care of them...all of us want our kids to have a wonderful father that will do that too. None of us had a Dad that would do that, seeing you do it makes us very happy."

"Is that so?", I teased.

"Oh yes...", Natasha answered.

"I think it's one of your most attractive traits.", Jean stated tossing towel to the side.

"It hardened our resolve.", Amora said seductively appearing before me.

"As do I, you showed me that there is much more to a man than just strength. It alone doesn't make a man, it's the kindness in his heart that makes a man great.", Sif told me.

Arriving on seen a single large portal had opened up over the ocean. Having the Kal El Legion prepare for combat I waited to see what would come out of the portal. Seeing a Golden Man walk out of the portal with dozens of other Supermen behind him. Recognizing who he was I told everyone to stand down.

"Who is he?", Diana asked me.

"He is Superman Prime One Million, he is a Hero that has lived for several thousand years and supposedly made a pact with The Source. He has spent most of his time learns abilities from other races and spent many years in the center of the Sun.", I told them.

"So...he is a good guy?", Iris asked, "Who are the others?"

"Other various versions of Superman...that one over there is All Star Superman, then there is Man of Tomorrow Superman, and that is Unchained Superman...", I said pointing them out.

Not seeing the most powerful version of Superman I was a bit curious why only two of them had shown up. Putting that aside for now I went out to greet them. Shaking hands with the men, all of them told me they were responding to the broadcast Nick had sent out. Asking them what they meant, they admitted that they had all intended to only protect their respective universes along with the Leaguers.

"Son, we came to realize that we have a responsibility to help protect those that can't protect themselves from both Emperor Joker's group and the Dark Knights.", Prime One Million told me.

"We watched you fight to free all those worlds for no other reason than they called out for help.", All Star Superman told me, "All of thank you for pushing us to rise up, and face this threat that comes for us all."

"You mean...I am the reason you came?", I questioned.

"Yes.", they replied, "You embody the true spirit that all of us have strived to be, a Hero."

"Yes you do.", the Presence chuckled as he appeared from behind me with Michael and Lucifer.

"Uh...who is this?", they asked me.

"I am the Presence, One Above All, God, the All Mighty...everyone seems to have a name for me.", he laughed with smile.

"Is something wrong?", I questioned.

"No of course, you have been incredibly busy I can see.", he teased looking back at my family, "I hope you are ready for the little terrors you will bring to the Multiverse."

"Well they will probably take after their mother's so...yeah I assumed so.", I chuckled.

"HEY!!", they shouted out at me.

"We weren't the ones breaking the law since we were children!", Ochaco shouted.

"You flew everywhere without a Hero License!", Itsuka laughed.

Laughing in response I gave them an apologetic smile, and looked back to him.

"So what brings you here then?", I asked him.

"I think this topic is best brought up in private, Son.", he told me, "Let's go inside and have a little chat. I have something important that I need to tell you."

"I am not going to be reincarnated again, am I?", I questioned.

"Haha, no it's not that.", he laughed motioning for me to follow, "This has more to with the origins of your power, and where you fit in the universe. I am sure you have noticed that you have achieved feats that no other Superman has."

"Well...yeah I have noticed that.", I told him.

"That's because you are more than just Superman. I have kept things from you as a test to see how you would use your power. Just because you were a good person in your previous life doesn't mean you'd be one in this life. Many humans I have reincarnated that were good people became evil because in their previous life being good brought them misery.", he stated, "I saw something in you that I have only seen in a very few humans. As your lovers have pointed out to others, you have the power to crush a universe if you wanted too and could become a tyrant like Darkseid. You could take over over many universe, and do as you please with your power yet...no matter how much temptation has been put before you...you have always chosen to help those in need. Your wealth is used to help those forgotten by the world, you answer the call that many others would ignore, you have dove head first into situations that could have gotten you killed to save people you didn't even know, and most importantly...time and time again you have demonstrated where your heart lies."

Showing images of the worlds I had visited, he showed me the hope I had instilled in people. My simple acts of kindness that had snowballed into massive changes in worlds. When I saw the world I originally came from, I saw a very different future than I thought. The class system my family had given our lives to change was gone, and the world was becoming like it was here.

"The sacrifices you made in your last life brought about changed that brought the masses out of poverty. I never told you, but your death drove the masses to double down using everything you taught them. When they rose to power they made a holiday in honor of your family and others who sacrificed everything because you never gave up on them.", he told me placing a hand on my shoulder.

"I...I don't deserve that...", I said.

"Henry...the children you taught and raised as a father, they are the ones that carried your legacy forward to make this change. You showed them the sacrifice and dedication you had to a group of people you had no ties too. All their people knew you could have given up on them, and lived in comfort but you stuck with them till your last breath.", he stated, "It was that dedication and heart that made me pick you out of all the souls that came to me. You are a rare man Henry, in this life and the last you have always put others happiness first...that is why I am here today. The threat has grown, and you need to be able to face it. I came here to give you the rest of you power, and tell you what you really are."

"The rest of his power!?", Mina shouted running down the street, "He can crush a universe!"

"He can do much more than that.", Lucifer laughed.

"I can!?", I gasped.

"Yeah, do you realize no mortal could have killed Nekron right?", Lucifer jabbed, "Anyone with the power of Death derived their power from him, and you killed him. Even Hela here has an inferior control of Death than you. Clark, you have the power to stop anyone from dying. Death itself bends to your will as does Life. That child's parents on Earth 1610 were by all accounts dead, but you stopped them from dying. You did that subconsciously so that child wouldn't be alone in that world."

"I did what!?", I shrieked.

"Oh shit!", Iris and Mina laughed, "That's so freaking cool!!"

"That is also very sweet.", Momo and Ochaco said.

"That's a lot of responsibility...", I gulped, "Are you sure I should have that power?"

"It isn't our call...", Lucifer and Michael sighed.

"That's right.", Presences chuckled, "If I left it both of you the worlds would be in chaos as you would get bored with running things!"

"Ugh...", they complained

"Now that everyone is here, let's go have a chat.", Presence said.

Following him into the building, we went to one of our conference rooms to chat.
