Chapter 139: Barry Allen's Unexpected Entry  

Just as Robert came to a halt, not far from them, a nerdy-looking student was running towards their direction, a person Robert and his group all recognized.

Barry Allen, the only friend Peter Parker could really talk to when he had just transferred schools.

Today, Barry had accidentally overslept and was hurrying to school when he suddenly felt something was off. Then, he saw several familiar figures and a group of shadowy figures fighting non-stop.

This scene left Barry somewhat dumbfounded; he stood there muttering to himself, "Oh no! Could it be? Am I still not awake, and this is just a dream? I need to wake up, or I'll really be late!"

Barry instinctively pinched his arm, and with a hiss of pain, he was fully awake, but the situation around him hadn't changed.

Peter Parker and the others were still fighting with the Shadow Ninjas, and the battlefield was gradually shifting towards Barry.

"Could this be a second type of dream?" Barry mumbled to himself, still standing in place.

Barry had recently been studying books related to dreams, thinking that perhaps his recent research was causing these bizarre dreams.

But could this be real? Impossible! How could there be Shadow Ninjas in the real world, entities that clearly don't seem to be alive?

And since when did his classmates become capable of battling such non-human monsters? It's completely unrealistic! Even if, for the sake of argument, there were supernatural forces in the real world, it wouldn't make sense for all his classmates to possess them, especially all appearing right before him, would it?

As these thoughts flashed through Barry's mind, the Shadow Ninjas, failing to impact Pietro and Lorna, began targeting the bystanders, with Barry unwittingly becoming their target.

"Whoosh!"

"Whoosh!"

"Whoosh!"

"Be careful!" In an instant, three ninja shurikens flew towards Barry, and Peter Parker shouted a warning, "Dodge!"

"Peter still cares about me the most, even in dreams…" But at that moment, Barry, still in a daze, showed no intention of dodging. Instead, he smiled faintly, saying, "But can I even dodge? What a joke, am I going to let these things bully me in my own dream?"

Just as Barry was preparing to show off in his dream, Robert appeared in front of him, casually deflecting the three ninja shurikens, leaving Barry, who was ready to take action, completely stunned.

"Wait, why is Robert stealing the spotlight in my dream? And why am I dreaming about him saving me?" Barry, incredulous, muttered as he watched Robert's back.

With a smack, Robert turned and slapped Barry on the head, then irritably asked, "Do you realize now that you're not dreaming?"

"Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch." Barry cried out, holding his head. After coming back to his senses, he looked at Robert with a mix of confusion and embarrassment, asking, "What's going on? How are you guys so powerful? What are those things? And, can you pretend you didn't hear what I just said?"

"It's going to be hard to explain all this to you in a short time. Let me see if I can get you out of here first…" Robert shook his head; now was not the time for explanations. Although the Shadow Ninjas were easy for Robert and Kara to deal with, they were in the city and had to consider the potential damage and noise from their actions.

Peter Parker, Pietro, and Lorna weren't performing well in the fight. Peter was somewhat familiar with his abilities, but this was his first real battle, and the overwhelming number of opponents made him look somewhat flustered.

As for Pietro and Lorna, it's worth noting that talismans are among the supernatural powers with the lowest barriers to use since even animals can use them proficiently.

However, being proficient in using the talismans and using their power to fight enemies are two different things. Especially, Pietro and Lorna had no idea how to deal with the Shadow Ninjas appropriately due to their lack of experience.

Therefore, their speed in eliminating the Shadow Ninjas was extremely slow. It was less about them eliminating the ninjas and more about using their abilities to dodge the ninjas' attacks.

"Help!" Constantly dodging wasn't enough to avoid all dangers, especially since the Shadow Ninjas, although not considered strong in the supernatural world, had plenty of experience. When Lorna tried to float away from the ninjas, they seized the opportunity and entangled her legs with a grappling hook, scaring Lorna into screaming.

"I got this!" Seeing Robert intending to rescue Lorna, Kara glared at Robert and shouted. She dashed towards Lorna, swiftly cutting the grappling hooks and then, with a few punches, scattered the Shadow Ninjas.

With a thud, not only was Lorna targeted, but Pietro, who was moving at high speed, also had his weakness exploited. Several ropes suddenly connected between a few Shadow Ninjas, tripping Pietro and making him fall awkwardly to the ground.

A quick-reacting Shadow Ninja took advantage of Pietro's fall, snatching the rabbit talisman hanging around his neck.

Robert shook his head in resignation; now there was one more ordinary person to look after.

With a whoosh, Robert's figure flashed, appearing next to the Shadow Ninja who had grabbed the rabbit talisman. The ninja, having gained a significant boost in speed from the talisman, managed to react to Robert's move and dodged his punch.

"Pretty fast, not bad." A hint of surprise flashed in Robert's eyes, but he quickly pursued the ninja. After releasing a burst of energy, Robert's speed increased again, and he was about to catch up with the ninja.

The ninja, decisive, threw the rabbit talisman and turned to charge at Robert, hoping to use his body to delay Robert and buy time.

With a thud, unfortunately for an ordinary Shadow Ninja, he couldn't even delay Robert for half a second. In just an instant, the ninja was blasted apart by Robert.

At the same time, Robert lightly pointed his fingertip forward, launching a low-powered energy wave at another Shadow Ninja trying to grab the rabbit talisman...
