Ma was definitely here. The next moment three other guards flew through the doorway, as a furious looking Devon came through.

“Hi, Ma,” V said hesitantly catching the blood lusted look in her Devon’s eyes. This was the first time she had seen her mother this mad.

She closed her eyes expecting to get an earful, but instead she felt the embrace of a warm hug.

“Are you alright hon?” she heard Ma’s voice in concern.

“Yes. I am. I’m so sorry I disobeyed you,” said V bursting into tears.

“There, there it’s alright. At least you now know the truth,” said Devon wiping her daughter’s eyes.

Then she added with a grin.

“But, you’re still in trouble when we get back,”

“Seriously,” V chuckled.

“Well this was a very touching reunion and all, but could you please let us out,” Dr Bernstein interrupted.

“Arbunckle it’s good to see you still alive,”

“Same to you Dolores,” the doctor grimaced.

V looked at her Ma puzzled.
