Aboard the military vessel, when Bolton and Robin found out that the airplane submerged in the water had really started and was diving underwater, they were overjoyed beyond measure. They had indeed kept things hidden from others. In tonight's operation, targeting the Destroyer was just one of their goals. Their more important purpose was to locate this F-15 fighter jet capable of diving under the surface of the water. This was the main reason why Bolton even forgot about the special item's disappearance. The United States had almost finished researching the special item, and continuing the research was unlikely to yield any more useful results. Therefore, its loss wouldn't cause the sky to fall, but getting their hands on this F-15 could be enormously significant for the US. It might even usher in new growth on their long-stagnant technology tree.
