Super actor reborn

After being dropped, my book is now being launched again under a new name: 'Second Act: My New Life With a System.' I've put a lot of effort into rewriting it, so I think you'll enjoy it if you were a fan of the original. If you weren't, still give it a shot, I'm sure you will like. Though my opinion may be a bit biased lol

Dad?

'I'm screwed' I thought, eyes and mouth wide open, afraid of the outcome.

The broom getting closer to hit me, the world seemed to slow down, and the only thing I was sure was that my pretty face soon wouldn't be so pretty, at least for a while.

When I was about to be hit, a blue screen appeared in my line of sight, but I couldn't focus on it. After that, I felt my body moving by itself, I squatted down, avoiding being hit by it, but it wasn't the end.

Then, I stood up and jump back at the same time, the world turned upside down, I felt my body spinning in the air.

I saw my world spinning, after a second I landed and stood up again, shocked with what just happened.

How in the hell I backflipped? Then, I recalled the screen that I've seen earlier. I asked the system to show me again.

[Stunt cooldown: 2 minutes.]

Everyone in the room were looking at me with blank faces, I was amazed, like everyone around. The guy who tried to hit just dropped the broom down, he seemed frightened.

A sound of a door being opened woke everyone up from the shock.

We looked at where the sound came from, and Mr. Miller was looking at us.

He was analyzing the scene, trying to understand what just happened, some time later his eyes looked at me, then at that guy, lastly, at the broom that was on the floor.

His steps were slow, I'm sure everyone in this room can hear my heart beating, it seems too loud, or maybe because of the silence I'm hearing.

I was having trouble trying to catch my breath, it's only my first day, if something goes wrong I can't even think of the consequences. I know I didn't do anything wrong, I even tried my best to not hit him, but even the slight possibility drives me crazy.

— What happened here? — Mr. Miller said, his voice was so loud that it was almost a shout, and his voice was demanding an answer.

His eyebrows were almost uniting into an unibrow, his eyes were calm, but looking at them gave me an overwhelming feeling of subservience.

— Jorge, it's better for you if you don't lie to me. — Mr. Miller said to the hooligan that tried to hit me. Somehow he knows this guy, he may be a friend of Brian?

Looking closer, why would such a hooligan wear such clothes? He seems too normal to me, perhaps I'm just too prejudiced.

— Did you pick up a fight with Lee? — His forehead furrowed when he said it.

Looking at the guy, that now I know it's Jorge, he was trembling, all his body. His eyes were looking at me, begin to do something to get him out from this situation. Will I do something to help him?

Definitely no, Why would I?

— Dad, You know I would… — He tried to lie, but he wasn't even able to finish his sentence.

Everyone got shocked again when we heard him calling Mr. Miller 'Dad', but the shock didn't end here.

Because of the silence, a slap sound reverberated, everyone's mouth was wide open in shock. Too many things happened too fast, it's hard even trying to understand what just happened.

This hooligan is Mr. Miller son? Well, if we look closer, their facial expressions feel similar.

— I've told you, I can tolerate how you behave outside my company, but you're doing such acts here, and wish to get away from it? — Mr. Miller calm behavior seemed to disappear, probably he never thought his son would do a stupid thing like this.

— Sorry, everyone here, but today's class will be postponed to tomorrow. — Mr. Miller said to the surrounding crowd, while I was in shock, people gathered here because of all the fuss we've made.

— Lee, I'm sorry, my brother is a pain in the ass, but I never thought he would be so dumb to pick up a fight with you. — Brian said, but I almost had a heart attack.

Brian came from nowhere and said it, actually, I was probably too focused on Mr. Miller and didn't notice Brian coming.

— Dad's gonna have a good 'dialogue' with him. — Brian said, with a schadenfreude tone, seems like he's liking his brother current situation.

— Lee, are you okay? — Jesse, that was on the crowd, came to me and said.

She was looking at me, probably worried if I got hurt.

— I'm okay, just too tired, and shocked. Who in the hell try to pick up a fight because I called him old man? C'mon, is he stupid? I really can't understand how in the world he thought he would get away. — I said, I was going through many emotions right now.

Initially, I felt anger, why did someone so stupid exist in this world? Then, I felt completely scared, if anything happened differently I'd probably had a broken nose, at least. Lastly, I felt relieved that everything worked out, and I have not even a scratch on my body.

— Yeah, how can someone be so dumb? But, it's good you were not hurt, I'd be sad if my partner got hurt. — She said with an honest voice, and to be honest, I really don't know how things turned out like this.

We just talked in the practice to the play, but somehow we've become friends, probably that thing of people with similar hobbies get closer faster.

Even more when we spent months on the same thing, at the end of practice she called me partner, probably she's watching too much anime.

— See you latter, Jesse, I need some rest right now. — I said, and went home.

Today really wasn't what I hoped for, I just wish tomorrow to be peaceful. Well, I just raised a flag, didn't I?

About an hour latter, I arrived home, I opened the door and heard something I never want to hear again.

— Ahmm, yes, harder. — I heard my mom saying in a voice full of pleasure.

No way, right? Today dad is going to Manhattan on business, mom can't be…

I walked silently, I was getting closer to where I heard. It was coming from mom's bedroom, the door was opened.

I leaned against the wall, then looked inside, trying to not be seen.

— Dear, your shoulder is really tense, you should take care of yourself. — I saw my dad massaging mom's shoulder.

— If I do, I won't get your massages, so it's better this way, don't you think? — Mom said in a lusty voice, then I walked out from that place, avoiding a terrifying thing that probably will happen after this.

I went to my bedroom, repenting my decision, laid down my head and then, fell asleep.

I woke up today, feeling relieved and ashamed. Dad's trip is today, ahhhh, why I had to see my parents being so lovey-dovey.

I'll just do what every mature person do, I'll forget it and pretend it never happened. Hmph, I'm so proud of my intelligence.

I went downstairs, dad and mom were talking, that 'thing' came up in my mind again, but I shook my head to forget it.

— Hey, dad, why are you here? — I asked, I'm genuinely curious, usually he's already at work around this hour.

— Today I'm going to Manhattan, so I've the day off to prepare everything I need. — Dad said, got up from the chair he was sitting and messed my hair with his hand.

— Then, after school, we can go out? It's been a long time since we did something together, dad. — I said, and I'm really excited with the possibility of going out with dad.

— Sure, what do you want to do, son? — He asked with a smile on his face, on these moments I really appreciate dad.

— Do you want some math classes? — Dad asked, then I remembered why I feel like I'm becoming a weirdo, it's because my dad's one.

— Dear, please, don't turn our child in a weirdo like you. — Mom said, and I looked shocked to her.

— Mom, do you read minds? How do you know what I just thought? — I said, apparently shocked.

— Son, everyone knows your dad's a weirdo. — Mom said, sighing, but I noticed she was trying to hold her laugh.

— Don't gang up on me, you are bullies. — Dad said, tears coming out of his eyes.

I almost thought it was real, but then I saw a bottle of water in his hand. He probably grabbed it when I was talking to mom.

— Well, I gotta go now, dad, don't be so sad. We accept you, even if you're a weirdo. — I said, showing him my tongue, and then ran away.

Yes, I have an out of the usual, at least, relationship with my family.
