40 40. Inter-school Competition 5

Ye Lian got on stage as she looked at her opponent with a smile. She is a cheerful girl and doesn't really behave rudely with anyone unless they cross the line.

"You will be first then Alex". The guy pointed his short spear at her as he taunted.

"Okay". She just replied with a smile and continued to focus on the coming battle.

The battle began and Ye Lian immediately sprinted at Liam. Liam held the shield up and blocked the oncoming punch.

He swept the spear as Ye Lian backed off with a flip. She delivered a kick to his leg but was blocked by the shield again.

She lightly tapped the ground like a boxer and started circling the guy as just moving around more will waste his stamina with that big shield, he was carrying.

In a couple more rounds, Liam felt the drain on his stamina. He used the spear as he started to make some aggressive moves now.

That was his downfall as his turtle like defence was good as Ye Lian was also feeling the drain on her stamina.

She took the opportunity as she dodged the wide swing of Liam and delivered a devastating punch to his flank.

They are not allowed to wear armour as that couldn't really gouge their combat power as it was to gauge their fighting power and not a real battle.

The guy winced from pain and tried tried to recover but Ye Lian was relentless as she caught a chance and kept punching him without allowing him to recover at all. In a few more punches the guy's face was a swollen and he finally managed to block with his shield but he was on the verge of losing from the heavy beating that he took.

"Ooooooooh!" The guy roared as he hyped himself and tried to stay awake from the beating.

Ye Lian was a bit worried for the guy as she was a bit too kind hearted for this kind of stuff. As she was considering asking him if he was okay.

Liam launched his spear at her like a Javelin that caught her off guard and struck her in the chest as it knocked the wind out of her.

The guy took the chance as he rammed his shield in her face and she fell, he quickly straddled her and put his punch in front of her and ended the battle in his victory.

Ye Lian snapped back from the pain when she heard the announcement of her loss and felt really sad as a momentary lapse of concentration cost her the victory.

Alex saw the guy's heavy hand as he practically sprinted from his seat and went towards the ring. He saw the medical team take Ye Lian and Liam away from the ring for check up and followed after them.

After they took her to a medical and treated her, Alex went in to check on her. He was going to get a free pass on this round anyway.

She was currently looking at the ceiling with sadness in her eyes as some tears collected on the sides.

"How are you feeling now?" Alex got beside her as he patted her head softly for comfort.

"Alex". She just hugged him tightly and buried her head in his chest and sobbed a little. "I-I L-Lost because I was careless". She sobbed as she spoke between her crying.

Alex felt a pang in his heart when he saw this lovely and cheerful girl crying like this. "There There, no need to feel down about it. At least you know to not underestimate your enemy and always focus on the fight".

He kept patting her head as he consoled her. She calmed down after about five minutes and just looked at Alex with a small smile that was a bit forced.

Her mother was outside the ward as she saw the two of them talking and Alex consoling her daughter. She just smiled fondly and decided to not interfere. 'Haaa, Youth'.

"Go, you need to attend the coming matches". Ye Lian pushed him a little with a smile after she calmed down.

"Alright, I will take care of that guy if he comes in front of me". Alex said with clenched hands.

"Hehehe, you don't need to do that, silly". She laughed cutely as she shooed him away.

(A/N: Don't forget that she is just a kid. So she will feel sad and bad about her loss when she was practically about to win.)

After getting out, he saw the blonde haired and blue eyed milf standing beside the door. He related her to Ye Lian but her face wasn't even a bit similar to Ye Lian's. so he was confused on who she was But he felt a strange attraction to her for some reason.

(A/N: Not my fault. *whistles*)

"Who are you miss?" Alex asked as he asked politely with a smile.

"Ara Ara, what a polite child. I am Ye Lian's adoptive mother". The lady smiled and replied back.

"Oh, I am her friend Alexander Oosuki". Alex introduced himself with a cheerful expression.

"As I said earlier, I am Ye Lian's adoptive mother and my name is Rosa". The lady responded in kind with a smile.

She felt that Alex was very cute with his serious and sometimes cheerful expression that he was making. She also felt very good close to him.

"Then I'll be going to attend my competiton". Alex said as he ran towards the seating area.

"Bye!" Rosa said as she waved towards his abck and entered the ward. 'What a cute child'.

Alex quickly made his towards the seating area and saw the girls standing there, looking worried about something. He knew, what they were worried about.

"I'm back". Alex said as he saw them walking towards him.

"How is Ye Lian?" Robin asked first as she had the more closer to her than the others two.

"She is okay now. She felt sad about her loss but now she is fine". Alex explained as he walked towards his seat with them in tow.

"That's good". Alice said from the side before Robin could get ahead of her again. This girl was quite the jealous type.

"Umm, we should bring her something after the matches today". Hinata said in her shy voice while twiddling with her fingers.

"Hmm, that's a good idea. Thank you, Hinata-chan". Alex said as he patted Hinata on the head, who started to blush.
