24. Interclass competition

It was finally the day of the interclass competition. Where the top 5 of each class will compete to get honour and resources for themselves and their classes.

Alex was quite hyped up today tho. As it was the interclass competition today. So he will be able to compete with others that are similar to him in skill and age. Ahem, maybe not skill but age definitely.

He learnt some basic Katas the other day that he has to fully practice and make his own but he can perform them without being too jerky at least.

He took the day off yesterday to relieve himself of the intense stress from day before yesterday as his small and young body couldn't handle so much in a single day and he was feeling quite tired and sore yesterday.

He still has some soreness in his body from day before yesterday but it is mostly better and doesn't hinder his movements.

Everyone was required to report at the gymnasium today. So Alex was making his way over with Alice, Ye Lian, Robin and Hinata in tow.

They reached there and saw the whole gymnasium looked changed as the small platforms for fighting were gone and instead there was a big platform in the middle of the whole gym.

(A/N: just think of it as the one from cell games.)

Even parents were invited to see their children's performance today. Grayfia, Raikou and Mamako were sitting there as they had shining eyes when they saw Alex enter the gym.

After the five of Alex's party signed themselves in, a wide announcement was heard in the gym.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, today is the Inter class competition, to decide the number 1 YOUTH in the year 1 of primary school. So keep looking for some awesome battles". The announcer hyped up the atmosphere as much as he could.

The children were sitting around the stadium as they looked over in excitement and anticipation. All of them were waiting for their turn eagerly.

"So without Further adieu! Let's draw the Lots!" As the announcer said, the ground in front of the stadium opened and a screen came out of it.

Alex looked at this and was quite impressed that they were able to restore technology to this standard after the apocalypse.

These things like competition and fighting were the main sources of entertainment these days. Where people were very focused on putting food in their stomach.

Civilisation was getting restored because of the delicate balance that the Human powerhouses had created and maintained currently. But it is just a matter of time, before the sword comes crashing down on the neck of Human race.

One thing that the Insects and Undeads had in abundance was numbers. They were somehow able to resurrect the mechanical life forms that fell in battle as well.

So the pressure on Humans was increasing by the day. On the other side, Humans weren't upgrading and getting stronger nearly as fast as the growing numbers of their enemies.

It's only because the races in Europe, the beast race and the mechanical race were vary of them that this delicate balance had formed. Otherwise, Humans would've vanished from this planet already except maybe a few hidden survivors.

Alex shook his head to get the useless thoughts out of his head as the matches had started. The first two competitors were quite good. One of them was using a dagger while the other was using his fists.

The match went quite good and both of them were nearly even but the guy with the fists got lucky as he caught the guy unexpectedly with a right hook to his jaw that knocked him out.

Then some girl was matched with a guy. The girl was using a big scythe while the guy was using a bokken. Both of them slashed at each other and competed for several rounds but the girl won as she struck him in the head.

Finally after 5 matches, one of which was Alice's where she showed her dexterity with a gun and her hands. While the other one was Robin, where she took two daggers and worked with them in absolute finesse.

"Alexander Oosuki vs Hinata Hyuga". The announcer gave his words and Alex was a bit stunned. He knew that Hinata was very timid even with others. So it would be a miracle if she faced Alex whole heartedly.

Alex thought of an idea and whispered in Hinata's ears. "Hinata-chan, if you beat me or fight me seriously. I will give you a kiss on the cheek". Alex said with a teasing smirk on his face.

Alex felt like he saw that text float above Hinata's head as smoke came out of her head and she was completely red. He tried to shake her but she wasn't even responding.

"Contestants! Please come on stage!" The announcer said one more time which made Hinata snap out of her stupor.

She had determination flashing in her eyes as she realised what was at stake. 'I will beat you. Even if it is you, Alex-kun'. She had her cute little fists clenched in determination as she made her way on stage.

Alex felt like he awoke a slumbering beats and gulped the saliva in his mouth. He scratched the back of his head as he made his way on the stage with the axe on his shoulder.

He got on the left side of the stage and he could clearly see his three mothers looking over and taking pictures of him like a photoshoot.

"Hinata-chan, do your best". Alex smiled as he encouraged Hinata.

Hinata blushed a little as she was getting used to Alex's smile. She smiled back as she said. "I will, thank you Alex-kun".

Right after that the match began and Alex sprinted at Hinata. Hinata took a the gentle fist stance in front of her as she got ready to fight him.
