Ch.1 We are done with you

"Flake Flameburst, we talked it over and decided that you are no longer needed in our esteemed group. Pack your things and leave," said Baron, leader of adventurer group called Lotus.

"What? But, but I still-"

"It's already been decided Flake. Pack your things and leave this house or we will make you," Magician girl, Lucille said with cold eyes.

"We are done with you. Get out," warrior Lucas said as he run his finger on edge of his sword.

'If, if I don't leave... they will kill me don't they...'

"Fine... I understand... I will cause no more trouble to you guys. I will leave."

"At least you can listen to a reason, good boy," Baron laughed.

I left the meeting room and returned to my own room, which was in an underground cell.

"Fuu, seems like I will have to get going."

I looked over things I've collected over last two years. Most of them were pieces of monsters we've slained.

Summoners, like me, makes pacts with monsters by supressing them by using their magical power. Also, every summoner have power to summon powerful monsters, but I can only summon F rank monsters due to my unique crest.

Crests are said to be gifts from gods which gave people power to survive in world full of powerful monsters. Speaking of crests, normal summoner's crests are diamond shaped, but mine is heart shaped.

"Kruuu" weak voice came from my bedsite. It was my summoned beast, Red lizard named Aku.

"Hey there Aku, done with boiling water in bathroom?"

"Ruu!" Aku let out happy voice as he enjoyed getting petted.

"Well, we got thrown out so you will not have to do it anymore. Come help me pack those things here, [Item box]"

Item box is one of few spells I could learn during my time here, even with help of grimoire. Truth is, I was able to only learn five spells apart from this one for total of six spells.

"Well, I should summon some extra hands for this. [Summon: Moss golem]"

As I finished chanting, little humanoid creature around sixty centimeters tall appeared from magic circle.

"Hey there Mossy, could you help us with packing all of this?"

"Mos, Mos!"

The three of us finished packing all things in two hours and after canceling their summoning, I closed the door to my room and left the house.

Hm? They are celebrating already? Those jerks...

"Usually I would say 'Good bye' or 'See you again' but for you guys I have only these words, [Curse] you"

I left the house without looking back. The sky was dark and murky as it was about to rain.

"Ah, I should get on carriage to another town before rumors start to spread..."

As I was aimlessly walking around town I noticed that the adventurers guild was weirdly quiet. I walked in and realized that there was uproar due to sudden monster going on a rampage just outside the city.

"Miss Mika, could you tell me what's going on?" I asked receptionist I was familiar with.

"Oh, Flake! Perfect timing! I would like to ask Lotus to take this mission, it seems like another Death knight appeared in the forest to the north."

"Another one? But we just subjucated one in the Westfall graveyard... that is weird, but who cares."

"Flake? What is the meaning of this?"

"I'm no longer part of the Lotus party so it doesn't concern me anymore."

"I-I see. So that's how it is... sorry to hear," Mika bowed her head, "to think that the group I introduced you to would do such a thing."

"No, no! It's not your fault miss Mika! They just got tired of me so I kinda get why they would do that," I quickly hushed Mika so I woudn't get such harsh looks from fellow Adventurers.

"If they failed to notice your qualities it just means I didn't do proper job when I introduced you!"

"Mika please rise your head, you didn't do anything wrong," as I said that, I lowered my head to her and silently added: "But I would like to leave the city before it get's public."

Mika suddenly rised her head and smiled smugly: "I understand, leave it to me."

'She's planning something... oh, crap...'

"Okay, I will leave it to you, also, could I buy some magic stones?"

"Will you try summoning something?"

"No, but I want to do some experiment."

"Understood. Please fill this form and I will get it ready."

I filled what kind of magic stones I wanted, their ranks and number.

"So, five E ranked fire magic stones, ten F ranked wind, dark, water and earth magic stones, eight E ranked nature magic stones and one D ranked dark magic stone seems right."

"Okay, with this it will be 270 gold coins. Do you want to pay with cash or Adventurer card?"

"Cash," I answeared to receptionist who took after Mika.

"Understood, here are your stones sir, we wish you good luck on your adventures."

Magic stones are usually used for maintenance of magic items, but for some reason I can use them to strenghten my summoned beasts.

"Okay, let's see how it works for you Aku, [Identify]"

Aku ate the magic stone from my hand and and made cute squeek. In that moment his eyes lit up and small flame burst forth on his tail.

"Oh! So you can become higher ranked if you eat magic stones! That's so great Aku!"

Before today, only magic stones I got were strictly for maintenance of groups magic items, which was up to me to do. 'Now that I think about it, I haven't finished the last batch right? Well, Ruru can do it herself anyway.'

As I was happy about my new discovery, Mika returned.

"Flake! I got some news for you!"

"That's grr- wait why are you not in your uniform?"

"Why, you ask? Becouse I quit the job, silly!"

"B-bu why tho?"

"Well, let's say I have my reasons," Mika smiled and gave me a ticket for a carriage ride to Almarion dungeon city in the west of the kingdom.

"Dungeon city Almarion? What am I supposed to do there?"

"Well, I thought that we could go there for training. You didn't get to fight that much right?"

"Yeah, hate to say it, but my level is same as two years ago."

"Well, I too, need to get a little boost to my level, what a coincidence," Mika smiled as she flashed second ticket for the same carriage.

'Heh, you are same as ever,' I thought.

"Well, let's get going then!" I smiled at her as we hit the road.

Meanwhile, at the Lotus party house

"Guhahahahahah! I never thought he would be so useless! And to top it off he didn't even fought back! Ah, how much I wanted to slice that neck!" Baron laughed while drinking his nth beer.

"Fufufu, to think he would only learn five spells in those two years and not a single that would cause damage, what a useless boy," Lucille laughed while touching Baron's inner tight with her free hand.

"Oy! Lucas! Say something too! What did you hate the most about him?" Baron asked and the rest of the party looked at the warrior sitting with mug of beer in hand.

"Oy! Don't tell me you passed out so early?" Baron laughed and smacked Lucas's back.

But as he did, Lucas fell to the ground.

"Hey! What are you- don't tell me... Roro!"

The girl after being called out quickly kneeled next to the warrior and checked his pulse.

"H-he, He's not breathing! Lucas is dead!" the fear washed over everyone in the room. Everyone know how much Lucas hated Flake for being so close with the guilds receptionist Mika.

"Don't tell me... did Flake do this? As a revenge?" Lucille got all pale and casted [Purify] on herself and Baron just to be safe.

"What is happening? Did he seriusly just passed out and died?" Baron couldn't comprehend what was happening, but he knew one thing for sure, his childhood friend was dead and he died right in front of him without anyone even noticing.
