Mission's Reward!

[Exploration Mission: Get a World Map and explore at least 0.005% of the world.]

[Rewards: A – Rank Summoning Scroll.]

[Duration: 78 days]

It was a harsh reality for Leonard. The summoner who was supposed to be in the same class as him was far stronger. Despite having a high-ranking class, Leonard felt weak.

Having more summons would make a summoner stronger indeed.

'What should I do?' Leonard thought as he watched the unconscious party. They had done much since the attack, but he couldn't do anything. He wanted to protect them with his own power.

"But don't be pressured," Zeus advised.

Leonard shook his head. "I've been given this crazy rank and <Unique Skills>, yet I don't utilize them. I guess it's enough to keep things moderate. I will focus on getting power from my summons. To do that, I must grow and acquire the proper <Skill > for it. That's definitely possible."

"Then what do you want to do?"

Leonard opened the window of his gaming system, focusing on the mission window.

"Let's fly. 0.005% isn't that much, right?"

Hearing that, Zeus smirked.

"Finally…"

The plan was to fly above and 'explore,' to meet the required percentage. But before doing that, the safety of the unconscious party was a concern. They were vulnerable.

"Don't worry about them," Zeus noticed the worry in Leonard's eyes.

"You can create a protective barrier or something?"

"Yeah. I can do that much. Did you forget that I am a god?"

Without wasting any time, Zeus began what Leonard had asked. For some reason, the surroundings became silent as Zeus drew out mysterious energy from within. The next second, a green dome appeared above them and the rest of the party.

Leonard wasn't openly surprised, but he was still mesmerized. From mythology, he hadn't heard of Zeus being capable of this. But now, he had just witnessed a feat of magic he hadn't expected from Zeus.

'He is indeed a god.'

The next moment, lightning crackled as Zeus again used his powers. He lifted Leonard by his arms.

The air rushed past them as Zeus soared upward. Leonard felt as if his soul had been left on the ground, and the fear of falling triggered his adrenaline.

'This is the second time, and it still excites me.'

"You would be capable of doing this if you had just listened to me before."

Leonard heard Zeus, though his words were somewhat obscured by the rush of wind against his ears. Despite this, he managed to make out the message, though he had to think about it carefully.

"If I can do this just like that summoner, then I must be capable of gaining powers from you. I wonder how to acquire that <Skill >."

Excitement was palpable in Leonard's eyes. Deep down, he wished to perform supernatural feats.

Zeus could see this clearly and made a mental note to search for ways in the archive for his next summon. He might be able to help Leonard. For now, he needed to focus on assisting him with the <Mission > and ensuring his safety.

A moment later, their flight stabilized, the wind's harshness diminishing into a gentle chill and softness.

'This is a wonder. Just experiencing this makes me want to fly on my own. But I must contain my excitement,' Leonard thought as he looked down, comparing the view to the map.

The entire forest came into view, and from this vantage point, he could see what was supposed to be the lost civilization. However, it was only a slightly advanced, ruined village. The houses were made from rock and cement, with minimal use of wood.

Disappointment built up inside him. He had high hopes for The Lost Treasures of the Zackarious Empire, but this was all he found. However, he still held onto the idea of search and adventure. A world like this, overlooked in the quest for wonders, had much more to offer than he had expected.

Zeus and Leonard continued their exploration, and from time to time, Leonard would check the progress of his <Mission >.

This <Mission > made him realize how vast the world was. Only the inhabitants seemed disinterested, given the attractions of the tower.

From the woods to vast mountain ranges and remote villages far from developing civilization, their flight was uneventful and straightforward. There wasn't much to see in this supposed remote area of the Zack Republic.

[Mission Complete!]

[A - Rank Summoning Scroll Acquired! Your reward(s) have been delivered to your inventory!]

Leonard heard the notification sound from the system and abruptly opened the window, excitement bubbling within him. Zeus noticed Leonard's reaction and understood that the <Mission > had already concluded. It hadn't been long since they began flying—just a few minutes, or perhaps hours. Considering they had passed over a few towns and cities, they must have been in the air for a decent amount of time.

"Have you checked what the reward is?" Zeus asked, unable to see the system interface himself.

"I don't know what to do with this summoning scroll," Leonard admitted.

Zeus nodded, understanding the situation, and found a suitable place to descend. They landed in a plain clearing inside a forest.

"Test it here."

Leonard nodded and assessed the window before him. Without paying much attention to his surroundings, he focused on the unrevealed reward from the <Mission >. His mind played out various possible scenarios.

[Inventory]

[Food Supply (20/30), A - Rank Summoning Scroll]

He grabbed the scroll and pulled it out, revealing a peculiar purple scroll, roughly the size he had expected. However, what made it strange was its purplish paper and the strong dark purple roll, intricately designed with a coiling creature that resembled a dragon, but not quite.

[Trial Summon]

As Leonard unrolled the scroll, a window appeared above it. A greyish magic circle was printed on the scroll, its lines etched deeply into the paper. He laid his hands on it, feeling the gaps created by the engraved lines.
