Interrogation

"Do you think I could sue them for defamation?" Jiang Shen wondered as she looked out the window.

"You can but that'll take a lot of money," he replied without looking away from the laptop.

Jiang Shen frowned. She was as poor as a beggar. Not to mention how she had a habit of saving up money, she wouldn't waste it on useless things. "Never mind then..."

The drab sky was turning a darker gray that it felt like it would rain any moment now. The sounds of typing filled the air as Jiang Shen practically made herself at home.

Her head rested on the armrest of the chair as she ogled at Qing Yao's facial features. The absence of her fast heartbeat eluded her as she continued to stare.

His face was a lot more mellow compared to Yang Mu. His monolid eyes were of a typical asian, paired with his lowered eyebrows that always looked so serious.

She especially liked the scar on his brow. In their younger days, she would always make it a point to remind him why his eyebrow had been scarred.

His almost cherry lips were the complete opposite of Yang Mu and — wait a minute. In the first place, why was she even comparing the both of them?

It wasn't like she had feelings for both. And it wasn't as if both of them liked her. Jiang Shen closed her eyes and recollected her mind. Sometimes she just knew she was going crazy as time passes.

When Lord knows how long had passed, Qing Yao closed his laptop and looked up to Jiang Shen, expecting her to be eagerly awaiting for updates.

Instead she had fallen asleep on the arm rest with her arms acting as a cushion, her body rested comfortable on the soft velvet chair.

Qing Yao relaxed his posture and discreetly caressed her hair, pulling it back behind her shoulder. Not wanting to disturb her rest, he ordered another drink and gazed into the distance while humming, an action he failed to notice.

Othello Lane housed several houses at it's most expensive price. Having a total of 12 houses, it's land was expensive because of the rural area.

When an land is undeveloped and empty, it's prices skyrocket until a buyer appears and builds their houses.

In the Yang house, just near the abandoned Ping Manor, a family of six resides in the three story house modeled after a villa, with luxurious amenities.

Yang Mu was lounging in the living room sofa when his older brother came in with a bag of snacks in his hands.

"Why do you look so down?"

"Ming ge."

Yang Mingha is an architect temporarily living with the Yang Family until their grandfather gets discharged from the hospital.

"What? You're lucky I bought you snacks," Yang Mingha amusedly said while he fussed up his hair.

Yang Mu did not sport his smile this time as his lips curled down in a frown. "I am?"

"Stop being such smartass and eat." Yang Mingha sat down next to him and turned on the tv.

It was originally on a news channel, but Yang Mingha was too bored to watch the news and changed it into a movie channel currently showing a romance film.

Yang Mu nevertheless opened the bag of snacks and ate them without the finesse of a gentleman he usually portrayed.

"What's going on with you?" Yang Mingha questioned.

His younger brother usually did not act like a child. Although he tried to hide it, Yang Mingha could still sense him sulking while munching on the snacks.

"What do you mean?"

Yang Mu pretended not to understand his words. Only he himself knew why exactly he'd been sulking since morning.

"Don't lie. I noticed it at breakfast when you didn't ask mom and dad how they were doing. You only asked about grandfather and grandmother before turning quiet."

"..."

"Is it a girl?"

"...No."

"Ah. You hesitated."

"I didn't."

"So i'm right?"

"You're wrong."

"Why so defensive?"

Yang Mu exasperatedly sighed. He turned to look at his brother, who had a cheeky look on his face as he smiled. Sometimes he felt that his brother's observant eyes were too sharp.

It happened back in Korea and now it's happening again.

"If I tell you can you promise not to tell our parents?"

Having had girlfriends in the past, Yang Mu did have a slight experience at making a girl happy. But as far as he knew all of his past relationships failed miserably, with him getting the shorter end of the stick.

If his parents ever find out that he's been planning to get into another relationship, they would freak out.

Jiang Shen, in Yang Mu's opinion, is a little different from the girls he had dated. It wasn't what was on the outside, but on the inside.

She always looked at things in a bigger picture. Responsible for a lot of things. Good at multitasking. Had a good relationship with people.

In a sense, Jiang Shen was more like an adult rather than a teen, which to this moment still amazes him.

Unfortunately she likes someone else — and he couldn't possibly imagine courting her.

"I won't ," Yang Mingha promised as he crossed his heart and made a pinky promise.

A little childish, but nonetheless true. "Then it's true."

"Really? Then who's the lucky girl?"

"A model student from the same department."

"Is she pretty? Tall? Good with words? Athletic? Smart?"

"Yes to all of them except being athletic. I've never seen her actively participate during P.E. Only the bare minimum."

Yang Mingha thoughtfully stroked his chin, a mischievous smile spread through his lips as he thought of an idea. "I see..."

"Is that all?"

"One last question — what's her name?"

Yang Mu did not like being interrogated. Especially when it involved himself. But his brother had already sworn to secrecy and it would seem unfair if he kept it as a secret.

"Jiang Shen."
