Beating

The talent showcase was a complete success. There was no doubt that there would be a crowd of Year One students flocking to ingratiate themselves within the clubs.

The stage had been cleaned and the others hurried over to the party. It was held both in the grand hall and underneath the starry sky.

With fairy lights scattered amongst the trees and a trail of candles leading towards the pergolas, it was a magical scene to behold.

Jiang Shen had been left backstage in the grand hall holding a piece of the broken chandelier. An idiot had decided it was smart to throw his hat when the showcase ended, prompting a crystal to fall.

She held the crystal up under the moonlight, which reflected her face. Dirt and sweat covered her face, masking the smooth skin underneath. Nevertheless she contently smiled.

The party would last until midnight, just until they light sparklers (they weren't authorized to light fireworks and had to settle for sparklers).

In the dark stage behind the curtains, Jiang Shen stood up and began to make her way to the back of the building to change. Outside the building, Jiang Shen unhurriedly made her way to the drama club where her outfit was hidden.

Before she could go any further, the leaves rustled and a hand grabbed her wrist. Jiang Shen felt her heart race but remained calm and rational.

"Student, what do you think you're doing?" she said coldly.

Her piercing glare managed to meet the gazes of three very drunk looking male students.

Alcohol wasn't distributed by the catering service they hired. Most likely the three students snuck alcohol in and finished the whole bottle.

Judging by the smell of their breaths, Jiang Shen concluded that they had at least two bottles.

With flushed faces, the male in the middle then said, "Come, have fun with us."

"We have a bottle of Merlot my father has been treasuring."

"The experience would be unforgettable," the last chimed in.

Jiang Shen's face darkened further, it was as if a storm was brewing. She wanted to beat them up until they couldn't cry out, but held back for fear of ruining her reputation.

Meanwhile, the three young men had been too drunk to notice her stormy expression and thus kept pulling on her wrists towards a secluded place.

"You know what else is more fun?" A devilish smile played on her lips as she chuckled.

The middle one had turned his back and hummed. But before he could fully fathom what was happening, a punch landed on his face.

It's impact was enough to jerk his head back, alarming his companions as his face contorted into anger.

Jiang Shen snorted and proceeded to smile. A jab to the throat and a kick to groin made the remaining two incapacitated. All three of them fell on the ground with a heavy thud.

Perhaps because the leader was less intoxicated, he still cried out, "Bitch! I'll tell you to my father!"

She ignored his cries and crossed her arms. "What are you, twelve? Are you gonna cry to your father about what I did to you?" Jiang Shen slightly winced at her sore wrist and frowned.

Walking closer to the young man, he couldn't help but fall on his back as she looked at the young man with a haunting smile.

"If you dare to tell on me to your father, then i'm sure that you wouldn't mind me screaming 'rape' here and now. We're not too far from the party and there would be a flock of people coming here, for sure."

The leader paled at the though of his reputation as a reputable young man being destroyed at the hands of the girl. He spluttered, "W-Who even a-are y-you?"

"Someone you shouldn't have offended."

Her aura was too domineering that he couldn't take the stress anymore before his eyes rolled to the back of his head and finally fainted.

Jiang Shen heaved a sigh of relief. That was easier than she had thought. Then she frowned at the three knocked out young men on the cold, hard ground.

Deciding it was against her better judgement to let them be, she drags their bodies by their feet to sit them up right next to a tree.

The young man clutched his precious bottle of Merlot even after he fainted, causing Jiang Shen's lips to curl up. She let a out a peal laughter and wiped her hands clean of any dirt.

Jiang Shen will have to see if the three would ever come across her again. If they did, it was worth mentioning the incident.

After changing into an appropriate dress from the drama club, Jiang Shen walked out looking fresh and youthful.

There were no longer hair strands sticking to her face with sweat and her body had been completely washed of the dirt.

She couldn't help but frown at her outfit. It was the third time she had worn a dress in her entire life and somehow the breeze she felt on her thighs felt weird.

A deep blue long sleeved dress that had an off shoulder too that showed off her collarbone with a skirt falling short on her knees. It was modest, but still showed all the favorable aspects of her body.

/No wonder Kang Shu forced me to wear this dress.../

It was beautiful, but it wasn't the type she would wear unless absolutely needed. Moreover, dresses were crossed off her list of clothes.

With her hair up in a messy bun (she didn't know how to properly put it up), she made her entrance to the party with a smile free of makeup.

Her arrival was supposed to be discreet, but her bright aura simply couldn't be hidden in such an environment.

Standing in front of the buffet table, Jiang Shen ignored the whispers and stares directed at her while thoughtfully thinking what to eat.

Her stomach rumbled at the right time as she blushed. A gloating voice behind her then said, "I told you! She looks perfect."
