DANCE DANCE DANCE

I knew what he was talking about. I got some "punch", or whatever it was. We danced to a few songs. We heard "Talk Dirty To Me" come on. We followed the crowd with the dance moves. When the beat dropped, everyone was grinding. I took my last sip, put that arm in the air, and started grinding on him. After a moment or two, he joined in. He put his hands on my hips. The song ended, and we walked to the back of the pavilion.

"So," he said, "how's it going in there." He taps my head lightly giggling.

"Right now," I answered, "perfectly fine."

"Right now?" He asked.

"It comes and goes," I said.

"I know," he nestles his chin on my head and rests his arms on my shoulders.

"I love you," he says.

"I love you, too," I replied.

I undo his arms and spin around. I get on my tippy toes to kiss him. His lips are so soft. His tongue still tasted like me.

A slow song comes on and he drags me to the dance floor. The song was "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis Presley. It was slow, but meaningful. His voice reminded me of Luke. Obviously, not as raspy. But deep.

I wasn't the best dancer. The only time I danced was the daddy daughter dance at my school. He pulled me onto his shoes. He swayed back and forth slowly. He leaned in toward the end of the song. I kissed him with compassion. I loved him. A feeling I won't ever get rid of.

People who were around us started clapping. We laughed it off. I went to get more food. Who doesn't want a reward? Luke left to go to the stage. I ate some rolls of turkey. I was definitely full.

An upbeat song turned on, country. It wasn't bad though. I swear I've heard this song before.

"It's like the sun went down just to frame your face," the speaker blared.

Luke walked up to me, "remember the song I wouldn't let you play?"

"You were made for summer. Just like these stars we're under. Were made for lighting this July sky up. Blanket down, made for me and you tied up. All night long, over and over. Crash into me and pull me closer. Kiss by kiss, one after another." He sang with the radio. We danced to the song. With the beat.

"Keep on coming in waves, Keep coming in waves," he whispers in my ear.

"Keep on coming in waves, Keep coming in waves," I whisper back.

"Wish I could bottle up the taste on your lips," he laughs after the song finishes.

The sun was setting and Luke was exhausted for the long day. I sat in the back corner of the room.

"Call you in 20," I texted Zoey.

Luke started walking in my direction. I was slumped down against a pole where nobody could see me.

"Are you about ready to go?" He asked.

"Yeah," I replied.

He was about to turn away but I grabbed his chin. I pulled my face closer to him. He pulled my lips till they touched.

"Love you," he giggled.

I slowly started walking back to the car.

"What's the matter?" He ran up next to me after I stormed off.
