A-O-K

I grabbed his keys and phone and headed to the car. I swept through his song history. There were only two main songs that showed up. I clicked on the one called "Waves". It was written by what looked like a country singer named Luke Bryan. Haha. Like Luke himself.

"It's like the sun went down just to frame your face. Like they played that song just to see you sway," the car blasted.

It sounded really good. Luke was wrapping around the corner of the car. I smiled at him as I danced to the beat. He immediately turned off the song when he came in.

"What the fuck?" I shouted, reaching for the volume.

"This song is special," he sighed, "it's not the right time."

"What?" I mutter.

"I don't want to play it now, ok?" He breathed tensely.

He turned on a different song, and he put the car in reverse.

"Malady," he says, speeding down the small roads, "we are off to the beach."

I smiled and rolled down the window. The thick summer air mixed with the salty ocean air blows on my face at 50 miles an hour. He turned the volume up to 70.

"Living in this big blue world, With my head up in outer space. I know I'll be A-O, A-O-K," Me and Luke sang over all the noise.

He leaned over to me with a look of lust. He just sat there though cause he was driving. I turned it down.

"So," I breathe in deep, "what have you been doing with your life?"

"Not really anything," he said, "for the past two years I've been trying to figure out what I want to do with my life."

"And that is?" I asked.

"I think I'm getting a grip," he sighed looking out of the dash.

It got silent for a moment. I wonder what is possibly going through his head.

"Well," I broke the silence, "I have no future."

"Nothing?" He asked.

"Nada," I answered, "zero, zilch, goose eggs."

He chuckled and slowed the car, "we're here!"

I stepped out of the car and gave him a hug, "thanks."

He brushes his hand down my back.

"I'll meet you down there," he said, messing with the car.
