A land that, despite its dangers, maintains an atmosphere filled with hope and joy. There our incredibly handsome, adorably kind and mute protagonist lives with his family of five. The youngest of his siblings. A humble beginning for one who would wield power beyond... ... Anyone's imagination! His name was Sullivan! A name that will ring in the ears of Immortals, Gods and Devils alike!! ... For reasons... ahem... beyond anyone's imagination.... again... ================================================================== Hello! Author here! This is my first book that I ever wrote. Honestly I don’t know how it will turn out, so this is just a practice project to test a few things here and there. The cover is a temporary thing. IT IS NOT MINE but an animated wallpaper called Raven Woman Warrior in Wallpaper Engine (support the creator btw, due to TOS I can’t actually put his name here). Also, the story is kinda slow in the beginning because I want to properly introduce the characters and set the world up to overall enhance the story. So bear with me! If the project is a success, I might continue it until the end. Including cover art of course and maybe character art. Thank you!

Miracle

The moment Eva victoriously voiced those words in front of the door, it immediately swung open, frightening the children back. Eva quickly dashed back with Sullivan in tow to avoid getting hit by the door, landing slightly outside the porch of the house. After getting their bearings, they looked towards the door and was greeted by the sight of a female figure.

"Welcome back~" A beautiful and ethereal voice sounded out.

Before them, a beautiful young lady about 158 cm tall joyfully welcomed them home. She had braids on her ebony hair that cascaded down unto her developed chest, highlighting her sexy hour-glass figure. A beautiful baby-face with bright and kind ice blue eyes which bore a resemblance to Sullivan, and adorable dimples which complemented her radiant smile.

Even as the siblings stood outside in the cold, it felt as if everything terrible was blown away just from her presence. Unfortunately for them, however, it lasted for a brief moment.

"Who did this?" Like a switch that had been flipped, the woman's calming radiance vanished, replaced with a chilly and emotionless persona as she stared at Sullivan.

Everything that they had seen was akin to an illusion, giving the siblings an image of dancing on a warm field to suddenly falling into a frozen hell.

Looking at her cold, indifferent eyes, it was clear to them that she was mad.

Very, very mad.

"Mother, please calm down! I know it looks ba-" Eva quickly tried to explain, but was cut off.

"I said... Who. Did. This?" The siblings shivered uncontrollably as the temperature around them rapidly dropped with every word she spoke. Their mother looked like a Frost Demon! She was going to go on a rampage! Slowly the siblings were starting to get worried for the village, fearing on what their mother might do...

"Honey, before you destroy the village, bring the boy in to get treated first, understand?" All of a sudden, a rough and confident voice sounded out behind the Frost Demon, surprisingly placating the chill that filled the atmosphere.

From behind their mother, a large man who stood at an incredible 186 cm tall was watching them. He had curly raven black hair with white highlights at the tips, as if he was blessed by snow. His face was stout and heroic, highlighted by his sharp nose and sword-like eyebrows. He had calming green eyes and multiple scars across his face, more notably one across his left cheek that went from the tip of his mouth to his left ear. Giving anyone who saw him an idea that this man had a story to tell. The siblings bear an uncanny resemblance to him, Eva especially so.

The siblings recognized him immediately, their father, Durivan.

"Honey! Look at him! Look what they did to him! If I don't show 'those' people pain, who will?!" Though their mother, Shiva, retracted her chilly aura, her rage had not.

Such a state shocked her daughter, and so she too would be just as shocked. Seeing his half-dead state, she instantly knew that something was not quite right. As she was about to burst in anger and wreak havoc, she was suddenly hugged from behind by two powerful arms.

"I understand, but he is a man now. He has to deal with his own problems, even if he is weak." Durivan, misunderstanding her intentions, attempted to persuade her. "Plus, look at his expression, it seems like he will try to stop you no matter what. He has the resolve to do so, even if it meant dragging his broken legs."

Her husband calmly pointed out the cold hard facts, as if nothing will phase him. She glanced at Durivan for a brief moment before fixing her gaze on Sullivan. If she found even a single moment of hesitation on his face she will flip the whole village upside down. Yet, despite looking at him in silence for what seemed like forever to Sullivan, he did not waver. Saddened by his resolve, she closed her eyes to enter her thoughts for a moment, before sighing in defeat in the next. "I understand..."

They turned around and lead the siblings into the room. Eva, understanding the procedure, placed Sullivan down onto the table in the middle of what seemed to be the dining room. There, Shiva and Eva uniformly stood at the side of the room, as if they had done this multiple times before. Then, when they got into place, Eva watched Durivan and Sullivan in anticipation, whilst her mother, Shiva, calmly looked on.

Durivan approached Sullivan until he is in front of the boy and studied his injuries, thinking and preparing for something. For a while, Durivan was lost in his thoughts, but in the next moment, he suddenly closed his eyes, seemingly falling asleep on the spot.

However, out of no where, the magically warm room dropped in temperature. Turning colder as barely visible currents spawned around them and start to flow into Durivan. Sullivan, having first-class seats to the whole experience, stared at his father with bright and starry eyes. Clearly he is excited for what's about to happen.

The room got colder as time passed on and the boy's father seemed to get more imposing with every second that the currents flow into him. This keeps up for five more minutes until he snapped open his eyes and a white and holy energy appeared.

"[Bestow: Holy Tendril]."

The white energy outlined his body and flowed out of his eyes, complementing his muscular stature and making him look like a God. He slowly raised his arms towards the boy and began the healing process. A holy 'snake' started to slither out of the palms of Durivan, 'looking' around until it had spotted Sullivan. Then, like a predator finding its prey, its strikeed out and wrapped around his entire body.

What was seen was nothing short of a miracle. Sullivan's frostbite and terrible wounds started to clear up and close at a rate that can be seen by the naked eye. His broken bones join and move back into place while his bruises revert back into his natural white skin color. His face, that was originally pale and filled with pain, started to relax, giving his cheeks a tinge of pink to them.

This continued until the holy-glow, which covered Sullivan, start to slowly dissipate after a few minutes, completely healing him of all his wounds. However, his face was still a little pale.

"Unfortunately, I can't heal back the blood that you had lost. You have to get that back through natural means. So, you have to rest and regain your strength, understand? Once you have that done, we can start our classes." Durivan, despite retaining his cold tone, pats Sullivan on the head lovingly. As a stiff faced person, he really couldn't express himself properly. Which would make one question whether or not he was angry when he first saw his son in such a state. Sullivan turned his gaze toward his pale father worryingly. He knew that such a technique would take quite a toll on him, since he can only do that a couple of times per day. Yet, he stood with his back straight, like a pillar in his world.

However, this only worried Sullivan more since he didn't want anything bad happen to him. Durivan, noticing his sons inner dilemma, sported a rare smile, "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine after an hour. You, however, need to save your strength. I won't hold back when our classes start!"

Hearing that, Sullivan paled even more. He quickly got off of the table and energetically shot upstairs to his room. In fact, he displayed so much energy that if anyone saw this scene they wouldn't think that this boy was just beaten in a half dead state a short while ago. The mother and daughter duo, after the treatment was done, already breathed a sigh of relief a long time ago. Though seeing this silly boy taking off really put a big smile on their faces.

"Now honey, you need some rest too! How embarrassing would it be if you collapsed before your own kin? You have to train them properly! Or I will train them instead! Hehehe..." Shiva giggled happiness.

The goddess had returned! bright and genial as before. However, although she became incredibly bubbly, Eva paled the moment she heard her words. 'Mother? Training?! Oh no, no no no no. NO! We can't let that happen! She is a DEMON!'.

Suddenly, her mother immediately turned to look at her, still retaining her saintly visage. Yet, when Eva felt that gaze, an extreme pressure was applied on her body. Did she read my thoughts?!' she cried out internally, trying to resist the pressure. Yet, tried as she might, she couldn't even get rid a bit of the pressure. In fact, it started to get heavier instead. Eva started to genuinely believed she was going to get a beating just as bad as Sullivan. As the atmosphere was getting colder and the pressure was getting more dangerous for Eva, a deep voice suddenly spoke up. Shattering the pressure like a mirror.

"Hahaha, if I collapse while training these monsters, then I should let them train me!" Durivan laughed with a small smile. 'Father for the rescue!' Eva's entire arm had goosebumps as every cell in her body went on red alert, she quickly dashed through the flight of stairs with a speed faster than the chase earlier.

"Yeah, dad! Hope you're well when we start classes!" Eva said as she hopped up quickly like a frightened rabbit.

Durivan, witnessing her strange actions, showed a hint of confusion on his stoic face and looked at his wife quizzically, clearly not aware of the invisible exchange that had been going on.

"What happened to her?" He questioned.

Shiva does not react, however, as she just stands there with a strange smile plastered on her face. Only when she heard the sound of Eva's door slam did she turn to look at her bewildered husband, startling him with her 'diabolical' look.

"Who knows?" She finally replied.
