Barbarra and Her Words

Tonight Shawn and his seven friends sing while sitting around the fire. Blame Jake for forgetting to bring firewood, so they only have supplies to make a bonfire for one night only.

The firewood was also obtained on the first day they arrived to camp. Shawn and Jake collect firewood that can't be used right away.

They have to dry it first in the scorching heat before they can use it.

That's why it was only tonight that they were able to carry out this bonfire event.

Shawn strums his guitar while his friends sing. A few songs later, Jake asks Shawn for a guitar because he wants to sing a song for Amy. Maybe after a song was sung, Amy could be sensitive to Jake's feelings.

Jake sings the song, WHEN THE GAME MEETS US.

After that, it was Dylan and Cameron. However, before Cameron finished singing a song, two people approached their campsite.

It turns out that the two people are Nora's older brothers who picked up Nora because their mother suddenly fell ill.

Nora excused herself to go home first.

"Let us come with you," Shawn said.

"Not. No need, Shawn. Let me go home with my brothers. You guys just carry on with this show."

"Then we'll see your mother at the hospital when we get back."

Nora nodded, "Thank you guys. I appreciate your good intentions although I hope by the time when you all get home, my mother will be out of the hospital."

"We hope so too. I wish your mother a speedy recovery, Nora."

Nora nodded, then she went with her two siblings who used a car to get to Rainswater beach.

After Nora left no one wanted to sing anymore. The event was filled only with casual chats and snacks.

That night when Shawn was just about to fall asleep, someone knocked on his tent. Shawn turned to see Dylan and Cameron who had entered dreamland.

"Who?" Shawn asked in a low voice because he didn't want to wake his two best friends.

"Shawn, it's me. Barbara." Barbarra answered.

Shawn got up from his lying position and sat down. "What is it?" he asked in the same low voice.

"There's something I want to talk about. Could you come out for a second, Shawn?"

Shawn considered before then carefully he came out of the tent. Outside the tent, Barbara was waiting.

"What is it?" Shawn asked, repeating his question to Barbarra.

"Come with me, Shawn, because I can't talk about it here."

Barbarra then walked ahead of Shawn towards the beach, away from the tent.

Shawn followed Barbarra who continued to step onto a not-so-big boulder. Barbarra took something from behind the rock which turned out to be a guitar they had been playing.

"Remember," Barbarra asked, clutching the guitar to her chest, "the night you ask me to be your girlfriend, you sang me a song, Shawn?"

Shawn nodded. She did remember that, where she sang a song, COME, BE MY GIRLFRIEND, MISS BARBIE. A song that he actually composed for Barbarra at that time that he used to melt Barbarra's heart.

"Tonight, I'm going to sing the same song, Shawn. I hope you like it."

Barbarra then began to sing in front of Shawn, her fingers plucking the guitar strings a little awkwardly. Of course, she was never really serious about playing the guitar.

Only this time she did it so he could learn the song that Shawn sang. Thanks to Jake for helping her get the chords to this song and teaching her to play the guitar. Though she couldn't do it as well as Shawn did when he sang this song for her. But Barbarra hoped that at least Shawn would listen.

Barbarra changed the lyrics from Miss Barbie, Come On, Be My Girlfriend

to

Mister Shawn, Come On, Be My Boyfriend.

Barbarra sang the song to the end with her cheeks flushed red. She was so happy that Shawn was still standing in front of her and didn't leave until the song she was singing was over. Her struggle in learning this song was not in vain.

"Shawn, come on, be my boyfriend." With a smile on her face, Barbarra said that in a tone like the song she had just sung. The girl looked Shawn straight in the face, noticing the look on the young man.

Shawn didn't answer right away.
