Giving Birth?

Guan Tong didn't dare to say that she wasn't willing. Otherwise, her blood would be spilled right then on the spot.

"Of course, I'm willing to have a baby with Lu Han. I just think it might take some time," Guan Tong said.

'I'm not a broodmare, and I can't just get pregnant with the snap of a finger.' She secretly thought to herself.

The Old Madam thought about Lu Han's condition and agreed. She could understand why Guan Tong would ask for more time if she wanted an heir for the Lu family.

"Grandmother, please don't worry. I will take good care of Lu Han and try to get him to wake up from his state as soon as possible." Guan Tong reassured as she saw how concerned the Old Madam was about Lu Han.

The Old Madam nodded when she heard Guan Tong's words. Her expression softened a little. Although this girl was a little ugly, she seemed good. Thus, her impression of Guan Tong resonated within the Old Madam's heart. However, the Old Madam was still obsessed with the matter of their child as an heir. After sending the Old Madam away with great difficulty, Guan Tong worryingly called out to Lu Han, 

"Quickly get up, get up now!" Guan Tong said.

"Has Grandmother left?" Lu Han opened his eyes. 

"Yes, she's gone now." Guan Tong answered with concern.

"What's wrong? Having a child with me would be easy for you." Lu Han saw Guan Tong's sad face and raised his eyebrows. 

"You pervert!" Guan Tong had been holding it in for a long time before saying this as she thought of Lu Han's sharp and barbed tongue.

Lu Han saw Guan Tong's flushed little face and continued to tease her. "Grandmother isn't that easy to fool. You have to think of a good countermeasure." Of course, Guan Tong knew that the Old Madam wasn't easy to deal with, but she was lost as to what she could've done to fix this situation.

"Don't worry too much about it." Lu Han patted Guan Tong's shoulder. "At most, we will have a child."

Guan Tong wanted to cry, but no tears came out. She was only a substitute wife, so she did not want to have a child with Lu Han. She squished her little face and suspected that her position as Madam Lu would be unstable again if she didn't give birth to an heir. If she failed, she would die eventually. Guan Tong wasn't afraid of her death, but she only worried for her grandmother.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

There were knocks on the door. Lu Han immediately lay down on their wedding bed again. Guan Tong was speechless when she saw Lu Han being completely carefree. She was displeased that Lu Han just lay down and played no part in this while Guan Tong dealt with those people.

Guan Tong opened the door. There was the woman that came with the Old Madam. That woman was Lu Han's aunt, Liu Juan.

"Mother is calling for you." Liu Juan arrogantly said to Guan Tong. Liu Juan knew that Lu Han had gotten married, but she didn't know he married such an ugly bride. Liu Juan thought that if Guan Tong were to be seen somewhere in public, she would be laughed at.

"Okay, I'll be there right away," Guan Tong politely agreed.

Liu Juan looked into their chamber carefully, then she twisted her slender waist and walked out. Guan Tong looked back at Lu Han. Liu Juan seemed to be very concerned about Lu Han, but it was the kind of concern that made people feel uneasy.

"Go." Before Guan Tong could say anything, she heard Lu Han's voice.

Guan Tong walked to the hall and saw the Old Madam sitting in the middle of the hall. As expected of the matriarch of the Lu family, she had an imposing manner.

"Grandmother." Guan Tong said.

The Old Madam smiled and nodded, gesturing for the servant beside her to pass some things to Guan Tong.

"What is this?" Guan Tong looked at the bag and was a little puzzled. A robust herbal scent seeped out of the bag, making Guan Tong even more confused.

"It's to help you and Han'er consummate." The Old Madam's light words were like a bolt of lightning, striking Guan Tong until she was charred on the outside and tender on the inside.

"Wh... What?" Guan Tong asked again for confirmation regarding the gifted bag.

The Old Madam only thought that Guan Tong was a little shy, and she smiled at the confused girl. "It's fine. Despite being in this state, Han'er will also have some reactions. You can stimulate him when the time comes, and I might have a chance to hold my great-grandson."

The corners of Guan Tong's mouth twitched. The Old Madam was dreaming for sure.

"Got it, Grandmother." Guan Tong's face became a little red as she accepted the Old Madam's gift.

The Old Madam nodded her head in satisfaction. Her granddaughter-in-law was obedient and easy to handle. The Old Madam got someone to brew the medicinal herbal mixture as a gift to Guan Tong. 

However, as Guan Tong looked at the black herbal remedies, she couldn't help but frown. This medicine was highly potent, but it would be useless against Lu Han, who was cold as an iceberg. Moreover, she didn't want to bear Lu Han's child at all. Guan Tong was holding the herbal mixture bag as she knocked on the door to her chamber.

"Come in." A calm voice was heard.

"Why are you up?" Guan Tong saw Lu Han sitting by the bed as soon as she entered. She thought about it and figured that if Lu Han had been acting like he was in a comatose state for a long time, he should be very familiar with things like this. Why should she be the one to worry about this?

"What are you carrying?" Lu Han frowned. He could smell the strange odor that was coming from the bag.

"Grandmother has asked someone to brew the herbal mixtures for you." Guan Tong paused for a moment. "It's very potent!"

Lu Han could not help but smile when he heard Guan Tong's words. He didn't expect that his grandmother would be so desperate for an heir to the point of using such a method. 

"Oh? Aren't you planning to let me drink it, and then we'll have a good time together?" Lu Han stared at Guan Tong with interest, but there was a trace of coldness in his eyes. He felt that this woman wanted to be married into the family to bear his child and have a better life.

"This was your Grandmother's idea." Guan Tong realized that she could not afford to offend the other party. She had gotten used to Lu Han's obscene words for the past few days. She did not flush at his attempt this time, and her heart did not skip a beat. 

Lu Han scoffed coldly. Many women wanted to give birth to Lu Han's child, yet not everyone was qualified to do so.

"Give it to me." He said.
