‘‘Naya…’’ Raphael whispered my name, and I swear that my heart almost stopped.

I looked at him, finding his beautiful blue eyes staring back at me. How could a man who looked so perfect be humiliated and mocked by people who only cared about his pocket and whether it was full of money? How could someone like him be despised by his own father?

‘‘Did you…'' he cleared his throat. ''Have you found a job?’’ he then asked, putting the cotton down.

I nodded, tearing my gaze away from him, trying to calm my heartbeat. ‘‘The Villin Group called me again, and they said that I had actually passed the interview…’’ The thought of working for them rekindled my enthusiasm. The anger that I had been feeling caused by Kelly and Clover faded almost instantly. ‘‘I just really hope that my wound won't be visible tomorrow…’’ I said, touching my lips with my finger.
